I love this pottery studio, it is probably one of the best studios I have been to, and I have been painting for over 20+ years. Nice, friendly, and accommodating staff that are willing to help you come up with ideas so that you can make your own masterpiece or fifteen. It is definitely my therapy, and I love all the ladies working there. I have made several pieces, as well as done the stoneware classes!! They are definitely worth taking a look, you go into it doubtful of your work, and it turns out to be the awesome (is that a word, well, now it is) experience and piece ever!! read more

We had the best experience here today at hands to art! We had a kids birthday party, with more people than expected. But the staff were very flexible, kind and helpful! I scheduled this party about 2 months in advance, and they were up front with all costs, policies and how everything was going to work. They have 2 party packages avaliable, with some great options. They not only provide the space for the event, but rhey provide small plates and napkins, decorations, clean up, a super cute birthday plate and you get 2 hours to do all of your painting, presents and eating. It was well worth the money, as every person got to pick something out to paint and will get it once it's finished in the kiln. They also got to have a fun experience doing something new! I strongly believe prices were very fair, the staff were so kind, helpful and patient with all the crazy kids. We will definitely be coming back to do some family activities, and we will definitely come back for another birthday soon!! read more

This was such a great experience to do with my family! The staff was amazing in guiding us through the process. We are from California and our trip was coming to an end. The business offered to ship our finished projects to our home for an additional cost. I thought that was so awesome. When the box arrived they were packed so secure everything was perfect. Excellent staff! This was such a fun date with my fiancé. A lot of options to choose from: plates/bowls/mugs etc. and a lot of acrylic paint to choose from. They have all the tools you need to create your own masterpiece. The only thing is the pottery is from Thailand and China, it is not handmade here in Coeur d'Alene nor do you get to make your own by hand. I wish they would have ceramic classes so people can make their own clay projects. I definitely will do this again! Also a bonus: music is playing while you are painting! read more

I kinda love everything about this place. The idea that someone could go in, pick from a variety of ceramic cups, mugs, plates, bowls, soap dishes, or you name it, and use the many different paint colors and brushes, sit down at a table with no hourly charge, and just paint something. When you're done painting, all you need to do is put your stuff way, and pay for the plate you painted on, then a few days later when it's been through the oven, you come pick it up. The whole process of making specialized hand painted gifts couldn't be made any easier. I think it's a great place if you want a unique gift for someone, or you want to creatively occupy time with your kids. read more

I first came here for a girls night out to celebrate the birthday of a friend. After looking around in delight at all the finished samples decorating the store and perusing the huge selection of unglazed pottery pieces for nearly ten minutes, I finally decided to paint a cookie jar for my kitchen. With tons of glaze colors to choose from, it was hard to decide what to do, but no one rushed me, and I spent a lovely, relaxing hour and a half painting and chatting with friends. Since I hadn't finished, I was able to leave the cookie jar there and come back to it later, at my convenience, to put on the last touches. A few days later, after the staff had fired it, I came back to pick it up. I ended up with a unique and one-of-a-kind piece that brings my friends to mind every time I use it! I've been back a couple of times--once for a kids birthday party and recently to make an adorable little owl box for my jewelry. The staff is friendly and helpful, and when they're not needed, they work on their own projects, some of which join the store's collection of sample pieces. There is music playing in the background, and you're generally welcome to bring in your own drinks or snacks. The workroom has everything you need, and aside from the cost of the pottery itself, there is no charge for using the studio. Loved the whole experience. I now have something to do come winter and i like how the lady walked me through all of it and the price on item is the total price, so it unludes the paint, glaze and firing it. I also had great conversation with the lady working. My only complaint.....while prices include everything they are astronomical on the large peices. The small are priced as to be expected but I am sorry $24 fir a dinner plate or $32 for a serving plate (not fancy ones btw just basic) are way to high by about $6-8. read more

Our group had a nice time and enjoyed painting. We did not receive much help from the staff member but maybe didn't ask enough questions. The shocker though was we were not allowed to use their bathroom and were told we could go outside around the corner to a public restroom. read more
