I was so excited to eat this smash burger.... And I could tell it was gonna be great when I got it, but when I did, it was served barely warm. I did ask for extra cheese and pickles, not sure that somehow cooled down my burger, but needless to say, I was bummed. The chips were great, crispy and salty, and cooked all the way through. The first thing we ever heard about food in Ireland was from some guy who claimed the best burger he's ever had was from Handsome Burger in Galway. We knew we had to try it when we were in town. We went on a weekday around noon and it was pretty empty - we were greeted quickly and orders taken. It's a cute space and an adventure to reach the bathroom. We ordered a chocolate shake, a handsome burger, and fries to share. The burger itself was juicy with perfect toppings - you really can't go wrong with caramelized onions on anything. The only thing I could fault it for was a finer meat grind than I am used to. Otherwise great combination of flavors and fresh and hot. Fries were good as well! Nothing to write home about but no complaints either - crispy and hot. Really great chocolate flavor in the shake which you don't always get! This is a great spot that I'd frequent if I were in town, and it was fun to try. read more

Holy guacamole,(I am from Texas)! I mean, burger! The husband is always looking for a burger and every now and then I have to indulge him and so glad I did. I had the smash patty and it was divine. So flavorful, with the perfect crunchy fattiness that is a must in a smash burger. I don't normally choose to have bread and butter pickles as I don't like the sweetness but these were a perfect sweet and vinegar bite. We also had the fries with parm, garlic aoli and bacon lardon- yum, yum! Note: This is the only restaurant so far that we've encountered in Ireland that asked for a tip on the credit machine. read more

If you know me, you know I LOVE hamburgers. This place did not disappoint. We happened by on two separate occasions, the first time we were too intoxicated to give a fair assessment the second time it was pure delight. Fresh potato buns and gluten free or vegan buns. I had the Smokester (?) without cheese but with bacon, delicious and my husband had the Handsome burger double meat. WOW! So good. Fresh & hot. Definitely recommend if you are looking for hamburgers. Catching up on Yelp reviews as I visited Handsome Burger as I visited in October. Handsome Burger is rated as one of the best burgers in Ireland and I think it definitely lived up to the hype. The place is medium size with a very casual contemporary atmosphere. I arrived around 17:30 on a Friday night and I was able to get seated right away. There were people already there and somewhat busy. Prices were relatively cheap at less than €25 for burger, fries, sauces, and a coke. The potato bun was super soft and fresh. There was absolutely no seasoning on the burger and it was cooked to medium well perfection and it was super juicy. Toppings were so good and the bacon was to die for! The sticky onions, pickle, and handsome sauce had great flavor and was very well balanced. Fries were seasoned and crisp to almost perfection. Garlic aioli was very good. Bun: 9 Burger: 10 Toppings: 9 Overall: 9.33 Fries: 9 Sauces: 8 Overall, Handsome Burger is rated the best burger in Ireland and I actually think it was the best burger that I have ever had! I have many more places in the US to try, but this one definitely is on top of my list! I would have never thought I would find the best burger in Galway! read more

Let's start with the Honey I'm Home fried chicken sandwich. Truly the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life (of 62 years, with lots of eating experience around the world). Sweet potato fries and regular fries--also the best I've ever eaten, so much so that our party of 6 asked for the chef to come to our table. Antonio the chef said it was a franchise but there are only three in existence--Dublin airport, Galway and I don't remember the third. I may just open one in the states, hopefully a block from my house. Otherwise I'll have to fly back to Ireland for this incredible treat. Well done!!! read more

Good burgers only overpriced. Chips was to salty and too many times fried. If you want same quality burger I would recommend go to mcdonalds or burger king. You would get same quality food for way less. Service was ok, a little bit politeness would be nice. Inside was like you would imagine burger place to look like. read more

I had heard this was the best burger in Galway. After trekking to their former location inside a nearby bar, I learned they had opened up their own restaurant about a year ago. The rumors were true... This is a great burger! The menu is simple yet varied enough to satisfy anyone. The meat is fresh and tasty, the cheese is melted to perfection, the other toppings are complimentary, and the bun is brioche with a hint of sweetness. The triple fried fries are crispy, delicious, and reminiscent of Amsterdam and Brussels. I highly recommended coming here. read more

BEST GLUTEN FREE BURGER EVER! The staff is very knowledgeable about celiac / gluten free / cross contamination. We ended up coming back here two days in a row because the food was delicious, the gluten free bun was amazing, and the Parmesan garlic French fries were absolutely to die for.
