By sheer accident of fate, I ended up going to two Hot Spots in as many days. While there are many…read moresurface similarities between this Hot Spot and the Ashland one, there are also glaring differences. Both smell of Pinesol and stale hot dogs. Both have rather primitive gas pumps. This one, however, does not boast an epic twitter feed and a wall-to-wall line of hookers trying to buy 5 hour energy drinks with credit cards. So it's somewhat less interesting than its Ashland cousin. On the other hand, it is selling a full line of Oscar Blues beer, including Old Chub, at 8.69 a six pack. Which is 2 dollars cheaper than anywhere else in town. It also sells non-ethanol gasoline, which is kind of a big deal to me on a philosophical level. If extremely competitive Old Chub and non-ethanol gas are a big deal to you, too, you're going to enjoy this gas station quite a bit. If not, stick to the Eblin--it's way more pleasant.

For the pharmacy only. This is NOT a review of the rest of the store…read more So, I absolutely had to contact Walgreens today, because I am leaving town and have to get my meds before I leave. The meds cannot be transferred. I started holding just after 4 p.m. and there were more than three callers ahead of me. At 7 p.m., I was still holding and yelling at the phone that "No, my phone call must not be THAT important to you." You know, you've been on too long to hang up now? That was me. I was supposedly the next person in line. Finally, my husband called the regular store and managed to get someone who said, "Oh, they didn't have a pharmacist this afternoon and had to shut down early.". EXCUSE ME??!! WHY WAS THIS NOT ON THE PHONE LINE WHEN YOU CALLED IN?? Information that would have been helpful THREE HOURS AGO!! I understand an emergency. Truly, I do. But when you don't put it up front and center when people call in, that is maddening! I am currently looking for a new pharmacy that's neither Walgreens, CVS, nor Walmart.
