We had some rotted boards they replaced and then we realized our deck was warping and luckily they realized our 2 main 6"x6" posts had rotted. They replaced those beams with 8"x8" beams which leveled out our deck before anything catastrophic happened. Perfect job. Then we had them finish 3 unfinished rooms in our cellar. They sheet rocked the walls and ceiling and painted and put up mouldings and installed flooring. This looks beautiful and has really added value to our home. Alex and Jacob worked long and hard on all these projects over a few months. They really know what they were doing. We would HIGHLY recommend Appalachian Construction and Handyman.

He didn't show up for the initial appt., and rescheduled for the following week- even then he was an hour late. We discussed the repairs and he said he would email an estimate. After hearing nothing for weeks, I reached out to him and he said he would have it by the end of the week. The following week, I reached out again and finally received an estimate. From there on, I would hear NOTHING from him unless I initiated contact. Then the excuses started.. I dealt with this man for three and a half months, with him ghosting me the entire time. At no time did he ever fulfill a promise, or meet a deadline. The last straw was him AGAIN failing to provide information on the repair. That was Feb. 25, and, you guessed it, CRICKETS! I have to wonder what part of "Do It Right" applies to his business.

The beautiful bathroom pictures currently posted here in YELP are my bathroom that Matt came and…read moreput in for us. It is beautiful. (He'll probably change the pictures as soon as I post this!) It is not functional. It is less than 2 years old and must be completely redone. The grout in the tile floors is crumbling and looks horrific. Another contractor said it was because the floor was not stabilized properly before laying the tiles down. Matt blames it on my house. The toilet had to be re-seated because it was put on wrong and leaked into the basement in the first few months. Matt did come and try to fix both of these things. The toilet now works. The grout has continued to crumble and needs to be replaced. As for the shower, the plumbing was installed improperly and also started leaking into the basement. The tile is cracked as well on the shower wall. The grout is coming out of the corner inside the shower. and another contractor said that to fix the plumbing the shower must be torn out as this mistake took place under the tile and cannot be accessed. Water leaks into the basement. I cannot leave it this way. I contacted Matt and asked him if he wanted to make this right. He refused. He wouldn't even come over and look at it. He refuses to take any responsibility for his shoddy work. I will never hire him again. I am a widow and this has all been really traumatic for me.
