This year my sinus condition was particularly bad so I looked around for ENT doctors near me. Nothing seemed to work, so I went "out of network" to Dr. Mandel's office in Plantation, which had been recommended to me. And I'm very glad that I did! Dr. Mandel is highly skilled, compassionate person and offers individual treatment plans to suit his patient's needs. His staff is exceptional, professional and friendly (in-take, reception, PAs and managers - all). The office is well run and they are responsive your your questions and calls. I waited 6 weeks for an appointment. At my Dec. 4th, 2023 appnt., I was told I would need a CAT scan to proceed. When I declined, I was then seen by Dr. Espinal, who numbed the back of my mouth and put a scope down my throat to get the info she needed. She said I had allergies and suggested proceeding with allergy testing. I declined and repeated I was there for a sleep apnea mouthguard devise. She left the room and someone else came in and informed me the machine to do the fitting was broken. I have called and texted often since then and no one has given me any further info when the machine will be working. I have even had JoAnn at UHC follow up with the office.

I saw Dr. Lapco, who scheduled me for allergy testing and a CT scan. After seeing that I'm allergic to pretty much everything they test for, he wanted me to take allergy shots. The problem is, my insurance won't cover them, and my insurance was ending anyway. I wanted to get surgery (which my insurance would cover), so they made sure I got it before my coverage ended. I had endoscopic sinus surgery and a septoplasty, done as an outpatient surgery at North Broward Medical Center. The next day, I called the doctor's office because my pain medicine wasn't really working, and left a message. Dr. Lapco called me back soon after, and had a new prescription ready for me right away. I feel like they've gone out of their way for me, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a great ENT doctor.

I came here in the worst of pain. Sunday I called knowing that they were closed, I was not…read moreexpecting anyone to reach back out to me until Monday, and for an appointment - probably even later. However, a sweet lady called me back that Sunday ,because of the message I left and the level of pain I was in. She was patient, attentive, and kind. She heard my concerns, and assessed my problem, and gave me the earliest emergency slot appointment available. Monday morning, I showed up in a terrible condition-tons of pain that I never felt in my life. This office was completely understanding. Sometime when your sick, and out in Public the way people act can make you feel worse, especially if they are inconsiderate, however this office was never ever like that! Each person in the office was kind and helpful, from the moment I walked in I was assisted. When I got back, Doctor Lapco was so attentive, and kind. He gave me a fist bump, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed despite my "Self-Pay" status. He was not able to take a culture thanks to the level of swelling of my ear, but thanks to him inserting a cotton for collection of the antibiotic I was able to finally feel the antibiotic effects, thus the healing process could begin. Without that, the swelling would have blocked the medications from really having any effected - like it did all weekend prior. When I left the exam room, the front desk staff was able to assist in setting me up a follow up appointment, and despite my financial situation they really worked with me. I had to come back to get rechecked but being that I already made my way to the Urgent care and was out a few hundred dollars to no avail in fixing this problem, they were understanding and helping me out by not charging me the follow up appointment. This came as a surprise to me when I called still in pain asking for guidance on what to do. Thanks to this doctor, and his staff I was all better in 1 full week. He gave me good advice on my follow up appointment to keep from having to come back, advice I intend to follow. Thank you Dr. Paul Lapco, and staff for all your consideration, speedy assistance, and kindness. I am forever grateful.
