I did the mid length flight with Paul along with 2 teenagers in my family. It was an awesome experience with breathtaking views you cannot see on the ground. I was a little stressed at first climbing up from Carson City to top of the mountain before descending to the lake. But the flight was very safe and really enjoyed the entire trip. Felt very confident with Paul... he literally wrote the book on how to become a pilot of powered weight control aircraft. If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to soar like an eagle, do this. Lake Tahoe is phenomenally beautiful, and being able to see it from above is a huge plus. Also saw a group of wild horses grazing near another lake nearby, and went down for a closer look. This is great if you're into thrills, into natural beauty, into flying, or into just plain old fun. read more

Cool experience, but definitely has some areas for improvement. The aircraft is more sturdy than it appears, and the flight instructor (mine was Paul) will not let you make any incorrect steering motions. Just note that you should wear some warm clothing since the temperature at 10,000 feet is cold! There were some key factors that prevent me from rating the company higher than 3 stars: 1. I purchased the package that included "50 to 60 minutes of flight time" according to the website. I did not receive what was advertised. On the aircraft, there was a visible stopwatch that showed how much time has elapsed. The moment I sat down, Paul started the stopwatch. The vehicle didn't start moving until around the 3 minute mark and didn't lift off the ground until around the 9 minute mark. I was extremely caught off guard when Paul took control of the aircraft and decided to land it at around the 42 minute mark. We touched ground at the 45 minute mark, and the aircraft stopped moving a little after the 46 minute mark. So, if you consider "flight time" to be time above the ground, in total I received only about 36 minutes of "flight time", even though I should have received a minimum of 50- less than 75% of what was promised. This may seem a little bit petty, but if you're as broke as I am and only treat yourself to something this expensive very infrequently, the few minutes of flight time that were not provided really make a huge impact on the satisfaction with the company. 2. After we landed, Paul processed the photographs (which cost an additional $80- more on that later) and my credit card was charged. There was a huge tip jar in the office that I thought was a sneaky, yet genius move on his part. Any customer who visits the room cannot help but notice the large container filled only with $20 bills. I don't think anyone will have the cojones to not tip, so the psychological pressure of the money in the tip jar means that you have to put at least a $20 bill in it. Otherwise, you'll look like a jerk. (And I'll bet that any bills smaller than $20 are taken out of the jar before a new customer enters the office) The reason this tip jar really irritated me was that on online polls, the plurality of people state that tipping a hang gliding instructor is not necessary. I would have tipped Paul regardless, but the presence of the jar really turned me off. 3. When being charged $80 for pictures, I expected them to at least show clearly the person who is in the aircraft. The camera did not have enough megapixels and is not zoomed in enough to clearly depict who is flying. Also, I think if there was a way to capture some video, the $80 would have been worth it. Besides that, I completely regret purchasing the pictures. Nonetheless, this experience was one of a kind and I'm glad I did it. If money isn't too big of a factor to you, I'd recommend booking a flight. read more

Paul is a really nice guy. He is very accommodating. We were a party of five, so Paul had to hire another hang glider so that two of us could go up at the same time. The hang glider was motorized, so, we didn't need any help to go up. Once we got to our desired height, the motor was turned off. The instructor also let me steer the hang glider. I felt very safe in the hang glider. I'm scared of heights, but, the instructor did not do anything to scare me. It was fun. The time went by too quickly for me. I would definitely do this again. I would definitely recommend this for people of all ages, from grade school up. I don't know, though, what the minimum age requirements are. read more

Went hang gliding with my girlfriend last week, incredible time! Paul is a great pilot and really set us at ease. Got some great pics from his gopro, pretty surreal. I wish the flight could have lasted a little longer. My flight was over after about 45 mins and hers lasted about 35 minutes. Kind of quick but still a great time read more

Paul and Bob were amazing pilots. I surprised my Husband with this ride. He has a small fear of heights but he ended up having a blast. I haven't heard " babe you are the best" so many times in a 24 hour period. This is a once in lifetime experience that you will never forget. DO IT!!! read more

Excellent experience! This is pure flight at it's best with beautiful views. Paul was very fun to fly with and a great instructor (he wrote the Aircraft Flying Handbook on Weight Shift Control). Would have had a blast no matter the scenery, just a bonus that you get to fly around Tahoe. We even saw some wild horses and did some low flying. Certainly a highlight of my time in Tahoe. read more

I surprised my son with this on a college visit to UNR. What an excellent experience! He is adventurous and a thrill seeker! I was a little concerned about flying in the winter...with the wind and cold; but he was warm in the flysuit and gear; and seeing the snow-capped mountains was a highlight! It was a perfect, sunny, clear, gorgeous January morning. He loved climbing to 10k feet, soaring without the motor on, and descending very low and flying right above the ground. Seeing the wild horses was a huge highlight. He loved the openness of the vessel itself and the freedom it allowed him to feel. We also got the video which has been fun to share with family. This was an amazing experience! Paul was knowledgeable, informative and made it fun for my son. He loved that he got to fly and steer quite a bit during his flight. Would HIGHLY recommend this activity when visiting the area! Makes an excellent start to an adventurous, memorable day!! read more
