I hear the complaint that it doesn't feel like a flea market from the get go. It isn't, it's a sale for a very worthy organization that spreads and redistributes the earnings within the community and the world. To complain because you could wheel and deal $6 down to $5 is fascinating. My experience has been that if you show up early and want first dibs, you're going to pay the asking, highly reasonable prices. If you show up around noon you can start haggling. I've worked as a volunteer for the past 4 years and I love, love, love, love what this organization is doing and I absolutely enjoy the redistribution of wealth on Bainbridge Island. I'm talking about the volunteers specifically in Small Appliances (heaters, toasters etc) and Computer Room (printers, electric fan etc). Not all the volunteers in there, but some. Appliance Room volunteer stood and blocked my way on the door (like a foot infront of me) and made a rude "that way sign" looking straight to my eye. Art/Painting Room volunteers are sweethearts - This is a rip-off because some volunteers won't allow you to bargain. For example, I got 2 items worth $3 each and I ask for $5 for both... they are firm with $6. Really? Also, I got an item worth $1 and $2 then I gave them $5. The volunteer said, You want to donate your $2 change because it's for charity? Sure, fine. I get it but do they have an idea that I went there to support and buy something useful as well? If they do that to every item that I buy, it's ruining the idea of "charity". One volunteer even snapped at me saying that item is not for sale until 1:30PM. I was there like 7:15 AM and you're expecting me to wait until 1:30PM for that? Like seriously, people donated that item and you're holding it when someone wants to buy it? - A lot of items are for bidding/auction. Some items are not even sold because either the bidder forgot about it or the prices went skyrocket. Do they have an idea that these biddings are very inconvenient to people like us because walking from point A to point B is exhausting? Biddings/auction should be made in just 1 space rather than scattered all over. This is the only estate sale that I've been through that is bombarded with biddings/auction rather than just price it so that people can just buy it right away. What is their purpose of doing a "preview night" if the item that they want is for bidding or auction? - My round-trip ferry costs almost $30 round-trip. I was planning to buy maybe plus minus $100 worth. But I was so pissed with the business feel to it and ended up buying less than the cost of my ferry ride. No, I'm not going back anymore.

From multi-hundred year old jewelry to ten year old action figures, if you might find it in an antique or junk shop you will find it here. I saw some items I hadn't seen in a while, and there was ample things to look through, including some old video game accessories I hadn't seen in years! While quaint and has a lot of cool things to see, it's still definitely a second-hand store, and has a bit of a grime feel to it. Probably should keep some hand sanitizer at the ready when done. I didn't find anything that called out enough for me to purchase, so I can't speak to the staff or service there. From what I saw though they appeared friendly. Sort of appreciated the old-school nature of the front desk operations. I might be back, but probably infrequently.

This sale has been going on since 1950. The parents association drives planning and work all year…read moreround. The sale is held in 3 buildings on the Lakeside campus. For two days, items are discounted and treasures can be found. Parking is hard to come by. However, if you park at the 145th park and ride, they have a shuttle on Saturday (I'm not sure about Sunday). For furniture pick up, they will let you into the lot to pull up to the doors to make for easy loading and unloading. I saw tons of volunteers and they were all very nice. They were easily identifiable with aprons and were organized pretty well. Food was available from two food trucks and a concession stand run by students. I found great deals in the electronics room including 2 camera lenses, a computer monitor, and 2 robotic dogs for my little guy. At $26 for everything, I got a great deal! I bought a Columbia fleece, Quiksilver pants, and basketball warm ups for my kiddo at the whopping price of $3 for everything. I got tons of kitchen stuff for my sibling that just got a new apartment as well as old school Tupperware, gadgets, and a pruning saw for $13. I spent 5 hours here shopping. If you shop in the morning, you get a $5 off coupon that you can use between 2pm and 4pm. Overall, the prices were very reasonable and I had a great time. On Sunday, you buy a bag (small for $6 or garbage bag for $20) and stuff it full. Electronics and Best of Show items are half price and you can't use the bag on them. 4-stars primarily for the parking situation and the fact that they want you to eat so you will continue to shop but fail to give you anywhere to sit down. This was an issue because of the amount of rain we had that day.

If I was going to pay $10 for a used T-shirt, I could go to Ross and buy a brand new one. Used plates were $5, Ross would be brand new for $5. I'm trying this at that the prices are way over priced. I understand it's all for charity, but the donated items should be sold for a little less. The reason why it wasn't a 1/5 Stars is due to the fact that the last day there are sales. It was 50% off majority of the things and by the end of the day, everything. I was able to find lots of vintage cameras and film for an amazing deal. I would suggest everyone to check out the electronic side because they have the best prices for awesome items. The clothes and everything else isn't worth it until it goes on the half of deal. I would still come back to browse for stuff and definitely check out the electronic section again. As for clothes or home decor, bring your money!!!! It's good that they accept cash and cards!
