I added a loaded baked potato (sans bacon) and it was loaded nicely with cheddar, green onions and sour cream, but the potato itself was cold. If delivered hot I'd likely recommend it. I decided to make the best of it despite the lack of heating. The service was friendly and excellent, and because of that I didn't stress about the cold potato. And I was plenty full anyway. Jim 'N Nick's provides a lot of seating options, the interior has sit down tables and booths with high ceilings. It's pretty roomy for a larger groups. My girlfriend got the Veggie Quesadilla with Shrimp. She had the orange roll as a side. We both had fountain drinks. The atmosphere is kind of generic but there were plenty of seats and mostly country music playing. My Urban Cowboy sandwich was a steak strip sandwich with some peppers and a tangy orange sauce. It was really tender, with no fat, and served on a toasted roll. The Hot Cheddar Pasta is a variation on Mac and Cheese but so much better. It looked like ziti-style noodles with lots of cheddar cheese. Both were excellent choices and I highly recommend. My girlfriend liked her Veggie Quesadilla with shrimp too but had to take half of it to go. The front counter folks did provide a takeout box. It is a little pricey compared to fast food restaurants but the quality is very good and worth it. The price for both our meals with drinks was around $40. I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't have more business but perhaps it's fairly new. I highly recommend and would go again when I am in the area. Now let's talk food, because that is why we're here. The pulled chicken? Outstanding. Tender, juicy, packed with flavor. It showed up ready to win. If it ran for office, I would vote for it. That chicken understood the assignment. The BBQ chicken had that beautiful crisped skin that makes you lean in like, "Oh yeah, this is about to be serious." But then it hit the plate a little under seasoned. The sauce was on the thinner side too. Not bad, just more "light drizzle at a picnic" than "bold backyard pitmaster energy." My friend, who is the salt of the earth, was falsely accused by the manager of bringing in small bottles of booze into the bathroom and throwing them away in the trash. This was told to the manager and she said it had to be her as she was the last person out of the bathroom before she changed out the trash. This was faulty reasoning as there were MANY women in the establishment and a group of young ladies who had been thrown out earlier for a similar situation. Once presented with the facts, instead of admitting her mistake and apologizing; the manager still kicked my friend out. I left as well and will never give another dime to this establishment. I went to Goat Island to try to put a better spin on my evening and told them what happened. They know the lady in question and also confirmed she does not drink and has never ordered anything but water or a soda at Goat Island.
