This place It's pretty good, but I don't know if I would come back here. I stopped here for lunch on a weekend in the summer for a quick bite and didn't love the food. While the service was good, it was also pretty slow and the restaurant overall wasn't the cleanest. I did enjoy the fact that they really leaned into their theme, especially with the menu and the decor. it was definitely consistent. My brother and I both got Burger combos and felt that the food was pretty good but also really heavy. I wasn't a huge fan of the style of fries they chose or the coleslaw that they gave on the side. I think the coleslaw was made ahead of time and was sitting out because it did not look the freshest. Overall it was worth a try but I don't think I'll be back. read more

Went here for a quick snack during some errands. Lots of selection for meat lovers. Only one vegetarian option of falafel burger (I think?) so I just grabbed some fries. They were honestly 10/10 tho and I ate every one of them. Wish there was more vegetarian options just because not everyone loves falafel! I am appalled. Tonight, my mother told me that she visited Hangry Pirates a short while ago and asked for a Fries & Gravy, and was told, "It's too expensive." I'd like to know what the issue was with serving a person who DID have money to pay for a meal. Who are you to judge? Was it because she: A) Is Indigenous B) Is a Senior C) Has mobility issues My mom has lived in Kerr Village for 20+ years. She took the effort to walk to your location, just to be disrespected? Based on the other reviews and photographs on Yelp, we ventured to Ker St. and walked into Hangry Pirates for the first time. We were welcomed warmly and our order was taken quickly, without batting an eye at a few requests. The wait for our food took longer than a typical fast-food restaurant because they make it to order, fresh - and it was worth it. Large portions, delicious food. We had a kids mini burger combo (which came with a piece of corn on the cob) and two Pirate burgers. I can't imagine finishing any of the larger burgers on the menu - the Pirate was satisfying and well balanced with the ingredients. TL;DR big delicious burgers and fantastic fries. Okay shawarm. Not very busy, we came at 400 on a Wednesday. Food was pretty darn good. It may seem pricey but you ACTUALLY get the amount of food you pay for unlike fast food places. This feels worth the money. Pro tip. You think you want a double or a triple, YOU DON'T. The burgers are huge. Wider than Burger King and thicker than A&W. and you get a significant amount of fries which are salted very well and even well seasoned. Very tasty. Shawarma was okay. Not bad by any means, but it feels like the shawarma is an afterthought. Come here for the burgers and fries. If I were the owners I'd ditch the shawarma and go full burger and fries. More variety would be nice. There are only 6 (I think) burger choices and 3 are purely size related. I'd have a 'Pirates Favourites' menu with 8ish various choices and the. I was in town recently for work and I felt like a burger and I did a search for best local burger, and this place was on the list. I had the Captain burger which was two Pattie's with cheese and sauce. It had a very thin layer of bread in the middle and I thought it was a pancake but nope it was just the middle bread similar to a Big Mac. But this was not Big Mac the meat a very fresh and tasty and a lot bigger than than chain burger. The burgers are made fresh everyday onsite. I was there near the end of the day and I was lucky enough to get the last one. A few other customers came in and they then ordered other items from the menu as the Burger Pattie's were sold out. You know a place I'd popular when they run out of food. The service was quick and the ambiance very cool like your on a pirate ship. I will certainly be back and try some of the other items. I ordered the combo and it came with a Ketchup-Mayo mix which was pretty good as well. The fries were freshly made and not frozen like other chains have. Tried this place today. Were looking for halal food around Burlington/Oakville and this place popped up on google. It combined my husband's two loves: burgers and shawarmas. He tried the hangry pirates burger and I had the hangry steak sandwich. Both were great. What really made me happy was the variety of kids' meals options. Our picky toddler ate the mini burger lettuce and all. Will be returning when we are in the area again. Staff was friendly. Food was fresh. Seating is limited so be prepared. The people working here are awesome and nice! The decor and theme is so cute and looks great. The only thing that really wasn't great is the food I ordered. I ordered a shawarma wrap, the shawarma was cut into such big slices that it was so dry even with the other things inside. The regular hamburger the meat was also so dry I had to soak it with ketchup to eat it. The fried chicken burger my friend got was decent. Ordered through Skip The Dishes. Unfortunately, our food arrived 100% cold - all 3 items I ordered. The Skip driver DID NOT follow instructions by calling my apt. from the lobby so I could let them in/they could bring the food up to our apartment door like they're supposed to. The food was left in the lobby - anyone could have taken it. It clearly says in the instructions on my Skip account what our Buzzer Code is/how to deliver. Epic fail by driver. When I called Hangry Pirates to find out where my order was (because the Skip website said it had been delivered), they were totally dismissive. I asked for a phone number for the driver and apparently the restaurant is not provided with one. To top it all off, the food was gross. I ordered a Cado Burger, Onion Rings and a Hangry Shawarma for my partner and I. Neither one of us could eat more than a couple bites - even after warming in our microwave. Driving down Kerr St. we noticed this new fast food place was open so we thought we'd try it out. I'm so glad that we did! We had the Hangry Burger and the Hangry Shawarma with fries and onion rings, Every bite was simply delicious. The burgers were huge and so tasty and juicy. The shawarma was different than most I have had, different and bloody delicious.The fries and onion rings were both hot and crispy and yummy.
