Hubby got the biscuit with the sweet jam, very yummy. I got the smoothed salmon, I liked the dill sauce, but it slightly overpowered the other flavors. But, still delicious and a good portion. I'd love to come back and try a breakfast boozy drink in the weekend. I can't wait to come back again!

Connected conveniently to the entrance of The Factory; The August Sage Cafe sets the brunch bar high in Columbia. * The decor is modern, laid back, and inviting. * The staff was very kind, warm and a pleasure to interact with. * My honey cinnamon latte was hot, well crafted, and a nice balance of bitter and sweet. * The breakfast taco was a fantastic blend of flavors and presentation-- definitely was worthy of sharing on socials. I'll be honest, I was so in the moment and enjoying my time that I forgot to snap pics of everything. I guess you will just have to take my word for it and go experience this great find for yourself. Rest assured, you are in for a treat. Add this to your list of local business to support and frequent. It has definitely been added to mine.

Well today, I decided to drive to Columbia from Thompson Station to go to Dutch Brothers, which is…read moremy favorite coffee place. I ordered what I always ordered in this case today was a medium iced kicker. People were nice. I got my drink. I used my rewards and I left down the street, I took a sip and I almost like said what the heck. I took a second sip, and I poured out the rest of it. A big waste whoever made it left something out. It definitely was not a kicker. Irritating because I try to be supportive and I had to drive 20 minutes one way and the drink was messed up. So I have been to this particular store many times first time I've had that issue but ownership should take a look at what they're doing.

After my experience, I think the statements are a bit exaggerated, although I do give it high marks. The name Grindstone cowboy is a nice play on words. First, they are a coffeeshop with a bar and deli type items, so grindstone fits well with the title. Grindstone Cowboy is a nice play on Rhinestone Cowboy, the song by Glen Campbell in the 1970s. The western feel of the restaurant complements the name. There is also a vintage store attached to the restaurant/bar for those who happen to like a little shopping with their meal. I had the BLT and she had the chicken salad sandwich. I will say I am not a huge fan of chicken salad, but I could eat this one (would not be tops on my list, but I could do it). The BLT was very nice. I added avocado and don't regret that decision. I thought the bread and bacon choice was on point. A heirloom tomato would have popped this up another notch. Overall, enjoyed it. I do feel the pricing is a bit high for a small town diner. Perhaps it is as popular as the social media post suggested? I did pay in cash to avoid the 4% credit card fee. Would I return? I would not go out of my way to get back here, but if I was passing through, I would certainly consider another go if I was in the mood for a sandwich.
