Corner Bar & Grill is now open. It is located right next to the Domino's Pizza, in the same parking as the GoodLife Fitness. The first thing you notice when you come inside is the large black board with a great variety of local beer listed on it. It was a nice read while we waited to be seated, which wasn't very long. First, the food. The menu is very simple and includes daily specials. I really enjoy the Pub Club which isn't double decked like most clubs. I have tried most of the sides with my favourite being the daily soup or caesar salad. I would not recommend the fries. They taste like the frozen kind and tend to stick together. Now for the beers. It is so nice to finally have a place in Orléans with a strong selection of beer, particularly in micro-brews. They have several featured beers, some only available for a period of time. This really feel like a neighbourhood place to meet up and have a few beers and a bite to eat. However be warned they have a tendency of playing the most obscure sports on their television. I've been there a few times and it never seems to be the same thing playing. It can go from hockey, soccer, football to curling, dog shows and lumberjack challenges.

The Short Version: Premade refrigerated or frozen meals. You…read morecan sign up for a delivery plan or just drop by the store, pick, grab and go. Quick and convenient. The Long Version: Meal Prep Ottawa opened this location in Westboro in May 2023. When they were new, I went in to check it out and discovered they sold refrigerated and frozen meals. To me they looked similar to the prepared foods at grocery stores but with a higher price tag so I wasn't particularly that interested. I'd rather cook my own food from scratch or I'll get a hot meal from a restaurant. Upon consulting their website, they state their meals are unprocessed, have balanced macros and the produce they use is GMO-free. They have Keto Paleo, vegetarian and vegan plans. As well as a regular plan they call "Clean and Mean" lol. Then in April of 2026 I was poking around my UberEats app looking for deals and new places to try and saw that Meal Prep Ottawa had a BOGO (buy one get one free) deal on selected items. I figured it was a good time to finally try something from them. I tried the Seven Grains Salad. It's regularly $5.99 a serving in-store, but UberEats had them buy one get one free for $8.89. So even with the mark-up, I still saved a few bucks. I liked the texture and the multitude of different beans and grains in it, but it was similar to those salads by the weight at grocery stores, although a bit tastier and likely with more quality ingredients. I'm glad I tried it, and it was good for what it was, but I don't think I'll be a regular. I prefer to prepare my own meals from scratch, but it's a good option for those who want such services. Staff were pleasant at pick up. Street parking only. Review #78 (2026)

Their first was in Kanata, and their second in Gloucester). It's actually in the plaza on des Epinettes just west of Tenth Line, where the Quickie Mart used to be. My mom wanted to go, so I took her there when I was visiting in Orleans not too long ago. They just recently opened, so some of their displays were still empty, but they are hoping to get more products. They had lots of shelf stable items, as well as refrigerated and frozen products. They had some baked goods like Acma (soft Turkish bagels) and Simit (hard Turkish bagels) and also baklava. They had a lot of Turkish Delight as well. The lady offered us a free sample of their Turkish coffee, which was really strong, lol. We got some baklava ($7 for 4 pieces, it's sold by the weight), an Acma ($3.25) as well as some instant drink mixes ($1 each), a Cappuccino and a drink called Salep that we learned is a Turkish drink made of the tubers of orchids. They had lots of imported drinks, like Strawberry Fanta and Strawberry Crush. Also drinks with basil seeds in them. Staff (likely the owners) were very friendly and welcoming. The place is bright and clean. I asked if they were going to serve prepared foods and they said they are planning on it. My parents will be over the moon if/when they do, especially if they serve pide (Turkish pizza). I'm so happy to see more diverse businesses opening up. Four stars for now because they are just starting up and haven't reached their full potential yet, but I can easily see this becoming a 5 star place once their shelves are full and they start serving hot food. The potential is there. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

I've had their Kol Boregi, which is puff pastry around ground beef with onions. It was good, but very greasy. Their baked goods are a bit expensive, but taste good. There is a previous review for this company from someone that placed orders from Toronto. I live in…read moredowntown Ottawa and had exactly the same experience. Horrible! When you shop online, you would expcet an "order confirmation" and "shipping confiramtion" from the seller. I got nothing! As their website is pretty bad I was not sure if I should do business with them. Should have listened to my gut. As I did not hear anything or see any confirmation emails I called and left a message. They never called back. I then got worried thinking I got scammed so I emailed requesting to cancel my order. This time, the owner right away fired me the most nasty emails you will ever see. I could not believe this person operates a business like this. The exact words were :" I called the driver and told him to hold the order since you're so horribly dissatisfied for no apparent reason and we don't care to do business with you. I will refund your money now. Please don't order from us again since you're nasty and impatient. Go ahead and complain to PayPal; we haven't done anything wrong. It isn't normal for someone to act like this after 2 days." All I did was sending a simple email to cancel my order. As a customer, I think I have the right to do this as they gave me no confirmation of any kind. They claim that the the payment confirmation from Paypal is the confirmation of "everything" and that it is stated so on their website. Well, most of the links on their website is broken and get you nowhere. I emailed back and saying that I will be sharing my experience with other people. She they emailed me "Threatening me? Half my famoly just died, we are a small business...I am having a nervous breakdown and should sue you for your nasty attitude and idle threats." Makes me laugh in a way that someone would actually write you in this manner when they have a business. So I hope you get some idea how they operate their business. :)

This may be a very fine store for local Ottawa delivery, but my experience with ordering from them…read morefor delivery to Toronto has been dismal (although they claim to deliver Ontario-wide). I ordered and paid via PayPal. Their website promises an email with shipping charges within 24 hours from the order. I received NOTHING - no acknowledgement of the order, no shipping charges, nothing. I called them (they don't pick up their phone), left messages and emailed them, without any result. Finally, after a week, I used PayPal's dispute mechanism in an attempt to get some sign of life from them. This time they immediately responded, abusively, claiming that they had sent me a "shipping request" and that I was "just another ignorant person from Toronto who doesn't bother paying their request." This non-communication - the first sign of life I have ever received from the Collective Conscience - was accompanied by a refund. Clearly, whatever mechanism they use for their non-Ottawa orders doesn't work reliably (if at all) - but they don't even conceive of the possibility that it may not, nor take any responsibility for its failures. And they seem to treat their non-Ottawa customers like dirt.

The Long Version: I went here with my mom to check out some items on sale in their flyers. My dad doesn't like going here because it's a bit farther from their home than other grocery stores. I don't mind driving, so while I was visiting I offered to take my mom to places my dad doesn't usually take her. The first thing I noticed is that it's not crowded like Walmart, The Real Canadian Superstore or Your Independent Grocer, which is where they usually go. That alone, I feel is worth driving a little farther for, lol. There were plenty of parking spots available, even on a weekend. The store is relatively new. It opened in July of 2023. Fun fact: it was the 99th FreshCo to open in Ontario. It's bright and clean. I like FreshCo for it's large selection of imported products. They had lots of British items imported from the UK. And lots of European items from places like Poland, Finland, Ukraine, and Switzerland. They have products from Asia too, including India, China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Korea. Their house brand is called Compliments and is not bad. Their reward points system is Scene which admittedly I hate since you don't get points per dollar spent like other reward points systems but only points for certain items at certain times. Of note, they were sold out of the flyer items my mom wanted, but we still enjoyed poking around and we got other stuff there for a good price. (208)
