Found this little gem on Yelp. Was really craving a fish sandwich or some fish and chips and saw this location. It didn't disappoint. My fish and chips were delicious!!! Man, I normally don't even like coleslaw. I asked my husband if he wanted it but tried it first and I was like "NVM!" LOL. The slaw was garlicky. It was so bomb. The fish was haddock. At first I thought it was cat fish but haddock is even better. My husband said he enjoyed his chicken sandwich. The fries are fresh cut. Had some great flavor and loved how thin and crispy they are. Service was quick to order and the food came out hot and fast!!! It was a little bit cold in the restaurant so I can see the place being a little bit more popular in the summer. Moe, gruff, and with the absolute proper attitude when me and my son walked in fro the street, to eat from a proper looking awesome burger joint. Right at the corner that I frequented when I was a couple decades younger. I haven't been back to the Wellington/Mechanicsville neighborhood, tailing the Hintonburg neighborhood for many years. "Little Mac's". Is. THE. BEST. TASTIEST, fuckin' god DAMN, "THAT A TASTY BURGER"...in the city of Ottawa. ..hidden off the street on a corne, to make sure it stays a gem, proper diamond in the rough. I'll say it again, because I legitimately said it twice out loud with a mouth full of the best burger in this city. "DAMN! That's a TASTY FUCKIN' BURGER!" Eating here was fine. It's a small joint. Very reminiscent of proper burger joints from times in this city, past. This is by far, the best damn burger in this city, hands down. I legit mentioned to Moe, it was the best burger I've had, in well over a year. Hand made patties, proper. in house, smoked bacon, with a proper smoke ring on the edge. ...ok, ok, but ITS A GEM OF A PLACE. New to the gluten free world and we absolutely loved this place!! Very small but it wasn't too busy while we were there so it was comfortable. Everything is gluten free! The onion petals are definitely a must when going back. I loved the chicken sandwich and the fried chicken (hard to find gluten free) was great. read more

I had a late lunch with my husband at Little Mac's and it was fantastic! I had the fish sandwich ($6) and a side of green beans, peaches, and bacon ($5). My husband had the Fried Chicken and Waffles with mashed potatoes ($15). The wait was a little bit long, so they brought us some complimentary fries to munch on while we waited. How nice is that? The fries were shoestring fries (my absolute favourite cut) and were crispy and delicious! The fish sandwich was so good. It was a nicely fried piece of fish (not battered, so much healthier) with lettuce, tomatoes, pickled onions, mustard and tartar sauce. I asked for the tartar sauce on the side, as I don't like too much of it, and this was no problem at all. The fish was seasoned so well and all the flavours and textures blended together excellently. The sandwich is on the small side (the bun is a Wonder Bread hamburger bun, so if you look at my picture that gives you an idea of the size), so unless you have a tiny appetite, a side is necessary. The green beans, peaches and bacon side dish was really tasty. Such a cool combination of flavours. The bacon was thick smoked bacon, diced. So good! The peaches I believe were canned peaches. The whole mix was fried up in a balsamic sauce and tasted great. I had a bite of my husband's chicken and waffles and it was so good. The chicken was boneless (yay!) and so crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. The waffles were made in-house and to order and were nice and fluffy. The gravy was so savoury and smelled divine. Service was really friendly. You order at the counter and then sit down at one of the tables, they bring the food to you when it's ready. When you're done, you pay at the counter. The place is small. There are 3 tables for 4, a table for 2, and a big table for 8. It looks and feels like a diner inside a trailer, which is what it is, lol. Super cozy and cute. There's free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant. We will definitely be back! read more

I had assumed based on the name that this was likely a mac and cheese place. So wrong. It's not one I can easily label. They have "buns" which are sandwiches on birger buns: chicken, fish, pulled pork etc. And fries. But also green beans with bacon. Oh, fabulous milkshakes as well. It's not glamorous or gourmet. But it is good. Best bets: pulled pork, green beans, and milkshakes. Will be back to try the ribs. Service was upbeat and very pleasant. This restaurant is actually a mobile truck located in Hintonburg; there are a few tables inside, so you can sit down to eat. I ordered a battered fish sandwich for $6, and waited probably around 15 minutes for it. It was fresh and not too salty, but was light on flavour. It tasted almost like a Mcdonalds filet-o-fish, which was disappointing, considering it's a few dollars more expensive. Service was friendly and smiley though, and they offered water in a glass while I was waiting. Maybe their other menu items are better, such as the meat sandwiches. read more

I went here two weekends ago with a co worker and it was so bad. I had to change seats twice because two benches were broken. The restaurant hasn't been cleaned in ages and the same guy that took our order cooked our food. No music so we could hear him swearing to himself while he cooked. I got the chicken and waffles and added smoked bacon and it wasn't good. Waffles had good crunch, but that was it. Everything tasted the same like it was cooked in dirty oil. the bacon was thick cut and not even rendered down all the way. Just big hunks of fat all over everything with disgusting gravy. One of the worst meals ive had in Ottawa, maybe my life. I never write reviews but this was so catastrophically bad I had to write something. Loved all the food we had. Fried fish and waffles with fries, ribs, and the fried chicken sandwich amongst the 4 of us. Definitely enjoyed the fact that the fried fish was cod. Sometimes it can be pickerel. Also thinking that the batter on the fish and the waffles were gluten free. Gravy also came with the fried chicken sandwich which was great. Messy with the pickles and all but it was massive. Definitely worth it. Ribs were delicious. Friend of ours wished he ordered more than just half rack of ribs as it was that good. That definitely says something. Most interesting were the beans, peaches and bacon. They also did Brussel sprouts too. All in all everything was amazing. We loved the milkshakes as well. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (only have a boar burger = cool I am down) and potato salad = 18$. 20 minutes later got a burger and fries. Took it anyways as I was tired of waiting. Got home and didn't get cheese or bacon my 18$ burger. Brought it back and was told it would have cost extra for that - I was never told this. So bad service and although I don't know how the food is, I can't be sure they will get it right. Their burger, tasted like a burger, not just a sloppy, salty mess, but actually burger. Awesome, I had the fried fish bun and the strawberry milkshake, great meal to grab on the go or sit down in their cozy old style diner seats. The potato salad was a bit meh, I would recommend to them to cut the potatoes smaller, more mayo and add pieces of hard boiled egg, but other than that it was da bomb! read more

This place is just an overall shit show. Their menu is one of those that everything you want to order has a key component missing that costs 2.00 to add. The employees are just awkward and somewhat rude every time I come here, I have been here 4 times and every single time i vow to myself never to go near this place ever again. The gravy is water with fat on top, the chicken they use is all darkish meat and it smells awful. Their hamburgers taste like cardboard and love to they forcefully/ awkwardly ask you to tip after they had almost no patience while you were trying to read through their pathetic menu trying to add up how much itll all cost because youve gotta pay a million dollars to have your burger on a bun..... dont disappoint yourself or your bank account and just go to mcdonalds read more
