Stopped by this super cute grocery store while in town for a vacation. It has everything you need to bring to your hotel room or Lake House and have an enjoyable time. Just off the main drag in a plaza, this supermarket is great for grabbing essentials, beer, and more. It's the main grocery store servicing the entire Lake Placid area. I used the bathrooms which were clean and easy to find. They had the makeup remover wipes I had forgotten, and great snack options for the drive back home. I would recommend anyone coming into town to stop here! read more

Came here for items we ran out of or forgot. It's a good local supermarket with decent prices and a good selection.

I'm a little surprised of the wide variety of brands available at this place (as usually you don't expect you get everything you are in love for food in a small town where you have vacation). The scale is similar to a Morton Williams or Wegmans on the East coast, or Trader Joe's on the West coast. Staff are very nice. They adopt some measure for protection from Covid, including mouth and nose covering requirement, and they would sanitize all carts for next use. read more

This particular Hannaford took me by surprise when I was visiting Lake Placid for a day trip from Albany, NY. There are Hannafords in Albany and they are not that great. I like the chain for their good quality options. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very organized, clean and comparatively large Hannaford in the middle of a mostly touristy town. This is a very good resource for people visiting the ADK for camping or just adventure sports. read more

I love Lake Placid's Hannaford-To-Go service. They do the shopping for me, and the staff are always so pleasant to talk with. The process to pick up my groceries at the store is efficient. The staff can't take tips, which is a shame when you want to reward people who go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. So I am giving this good review as a tip. read more

Above average grocery store that I mainly used as a beer supply depot. They have a big selection of beer in refrigerators, though most of the specialty craft beer and local beer is relegated to a hot shelf nearby. A quick look at the produce was impressive. Everything was clean, organized, and the cashiers were friendly. read more

Hannaford gets my vote for Lake Placid supermarkets. A main reason for this is the easy access parking lot and smooth checkout record. The inside of the store is more casual than the competition, with a little more room to breathe. The employees have always been friendly and I have rarely seen this store understaffed. Hannaford has a great selection of Organic products, fruits, vegetables and a deli. This store also has a pharmacy, giving it a considerable advantage in my book! It would be nice to have some sort of rewards program, but at least the prices are comparable. In a hurry or wanting to skip the chaos, choose Hannaford. However, they are not 24 hour. read more

We stayed in Lake Placid for a week and came here three times for odds and ends - because let's face it, who wants to pay $8 for a bowl of Cheerios at the hotel. We found everything we needed: fresh fruit, mascara, milk and cereal for the morning and snack for the slopes. For the items we couldn't find, the staff was incredibly helpful with taking us to the aisle and helping us. read more

Went to pick up a few odds and ends. Never go here but no one was there and it would be quicker. Price Chopper was much busier so I ran into Hannafords. The evening "supervisor" was on a power trip and had zero customer service. Maybe this is why it is less busy? Training? Educated? Very frustrating event! read more

Most immaculately kept supermarket I have ever been to. Cans stacked neatly, loose pasta packages heaped on top of each other without slipping, and tidy produce signs that describe exotic fruits. Great selection in the aisles. You can score regular national brands and organic, natural items in the same aisle. As we were walking out the door, they handed out some complimentary sparkling beverages. Nice gesture to the Saturday shoppers there. read more

A little hard to see, but next door to the Howard Johnsons. Hannaford opened about a year ago. It is bright, very clean, and super well stocked. Probably the best meat selection around. The day I was there, NY strip boneless was $5.99/lb. Also, chutney was $3.00 less than across Saranac Ave at the Price Chopper. Full service deli. Excellent restaurant grade produce department. Lake Placid and Saranac Lake are lucky to have two excellent markets, Hannaford and Price Chopper. read more

Huge, clean, and organized supermarket, especially for such a small town! I was particularly impressed with the selection for beer and potato chips (necessary hiking trip staples) The man working the deli counter was also very pleasant and helpful. read more

The store itself is great; however, we went in two days in a row to the staff yelling at customers and each other. I understand being stressed out with everything going on right now. It is outrageous however to yell at customers over a small and confusing register areas and what register they should be going to. It's very unprofessional and frankly stresses people out terribly to have cashiers yelling at other people and it wasn't isolated. It was almost all of them yelling or raising their voices at multiple customers. Like I said, the store is great but I was very disappointed in the staff. read more

I went to the Topsham, Maine pharmacy the other day. Needed to get medicine for my husband who forgot his one medicine he needed. We traveled from New York. The pharmacist was very friendly and helpful. We got it. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the courteous service. The store was well stocked even in a time of a pandemic. Everyone gave ample space when shopping and I even saw employees wearing masks. This made me feel really comfortable knowing that you care about our health. Thank you Hannaford for thinking of the well-being of your costumers. Keep up the good work. Nice store, good selection, clean. I only go here though after I've gone to Aldi first and then PC up the road. Hannfords prices are def higher than both stores, esp higher than Aldi; but sometimes Hannaford has that one item you can't get anywhere else. I'm not a fan of the set up there but that could be bc I don't go there often. I find it a bit hap-hazard. At any rate, it's not bad but def not my first choice, esp for pricing. read more

Love this grocery store! Located on Saranac Ave, just a few minute drive from downtown lake placid, this Hannaford's has everything you could hope for in a grocery store. Super organized and clean, with a great selection of produce and meats, as well as every ingredient you might need at a rental home. Additionally, they have all of those vacation items you might want but left at home (bug spray, fire pit supplies, swimming/pool accessories). There's also a liquor store and Marshalls in the plaza, making for a true one stop shopping experience! read more

best produce around. always fresh and full of variety. the produce manager is always friendly, willing to help with anything, and knowledgable about his fruits. they also offer a great variety of locally grown produce. the deli has a great selection of specialty cheese, best selection around. the meat departments standards on fresh are clearly high, even if the product that has been reduced in price for quick sale it looks like it was cut in front of you. the store is very well kept, organized and clean! checkout is smooth every time i have been in. even when they seem busy, they have a great system to keep lines short, even the store manager has been checking out customers. if you want to save money on gas and pay extra for groceries go to price chopper. when i shop i prefer to save money on groceries and get a product i can be 100% happy with, thats why i shop at hannaford. read more

We shop this Hannafords weekly, driving over from Saranac Lake to do so. Good, large, clean store, well staffed. Particularly good produce section-- important to us, as we're (mostly) vegan. And we like their original unsweetened almond milk better than any other we've found. Good place! read more

We love Hannaford for the variety, quality, and prices. While there are still items we prefer from other stores, 75% of our shopping is Hannaford. What we can save on one piece of wild coho salmon on sale at Hannaford, more than compensates for any potential gas savings. Saranac Lake and Lake Placid health foods stores and public markets carry additional variety of local, bulk, and organic.. so we will continue to purchase from those locations. Hannaford fills in the gaps of all of these other places. Hannaford shopping is also comfortable, friendly, clean and neat. Thank you for being in Lake Placid! read more
