This was a great…read moreplace to pick up some cute holiday gifts (fancy dish towels, things for making craft cocktails at home, soaps, etc). They also make baked goods in the store. I loved that each item had the simple ingredients listed with it on the name-- this made it easy for needing to ask if you have food allergies, but also terrific to see that the treats are made with basic ingredients like you'd use at home! I tried a snickerdoodle whoopie pie with cream cheese icing inside. The cookies were perfect and the frosting was a bit on the super sweet side but that's how I like my frosting so it was delicious! My mom got a slice of pie- the flavor was pretty good but since it was kept in the fridge, the crust lost a bit of the crunch/flakiness. We bought a take and bake frozen raspberry pie for the next time we have guests over. Mom also got a brownie, which she said was very good as well. The wide selection of pre made salads and sandwiches looked great as well as the large selection of take and bake meals and side dishes. This is my favorite type of a local gem to discover. It's a perfect spot to stop on the way to or from Lake Placid. I actually visited twice in the same day! It's open Friday-Monday (as of when I visited in November'23). I think I'll actually head back to that area next weekend and stop back in to pick up a few gifts and some more baked goods! Update--- We also did end up going back to the shop the following weekend for some more shopping. Customer service could use some improvement. **As I said in my main review, we bought a frozen pie to take and bake. We baked it for Thanksgiving l there was no scent while it baked which was unusual. It wasn't the prettiest looking when it came out of the oven. More unfortunately, no one liked it! My mom said it was the worst she's ever tasted. The crust was so thick and the filling and crust both had a strange aftertaste. This was very disappointing because the treats we had in the store were delicious. If the review was based only on the pie, I'd be a 1/5 stars.

Best of all, I could race in and find the perfect lunch; I actually had a tough time choosing as the tempeh also looked delish. The only tough part is walking past the amazing desserts. Have you heard of the little engine that could? This is the tiny but mighty bakery. I've been…read morevisiting Lake Placid for years, but only discovered this bakery this year, mostly by following its patrons who were perambulating around the Main Street with what looked like amazing little scones. Speaking of said scones, they're fantastic. If you're expecting biscuit-line scones, these might be a bit of a disappointment. These are on the bread-ier side of the pastry spectrum, but no less satisfying. We tried the blueberry almond scone and the raspberry white chocolate, and both were scarfed down within minutes. I also love that these aren't sickly sweet. Paired with a latte (for which I highly, highly recommend getting a pump of the hazelnut syrup), Bluesberry Bakery was responsible for supplying some of the best breakfasts we had during our stay in Lake Placid. City folks ought to temper their expectations. This is a small town bakery on a quaint main street, and inside, space is tight. There isn't any seating space, and if two or more groups of customers come in simultaneously, the rest of the queue has to wait outside the door. But things behind the counter are manned by a small, dedicated crew of folks who keep things moving. As with any bakery that makes things fresh, come as soon as the urges hit; when they're out, they're out. I learned this the hard way when I came late afternoon for a scone and found they were sold out.

You can choose from bar seating, indoor tables, or outdoor spots with a perfect breeze. There's even a big street-side table that's ideal for bachelorette groups or larger parties. The whole space feels elevated, cozy, and a little magical. Drinks: The cocktail menu is insanely creative and the pours are generous. Their espresso martini is one of my all-time favorites... I stop in for one every single time I'm in Lake Placid. It's that good. Food: I think about this food at least once a week. The menu is built around shareable small plates, making it the perfect pre-dinner cocktail hour spot for your travel crew. Order a couple of drinks and a few bites while you take in the lake views before your dinner reservation. My personal must-orders: the charcuterie board and the mac and cheese. Unreal. Price: It's on the pricier side, but genuinely worth every penny. For the quality, the atmosphere, and those views? Not overpriced at all.

I checked the times online again (Google and their website) and saw they should be open, but weren't. So, I ate elsewhere. Ultimately, I came back on my last night in town and saw they were open and I sat at the bar. The bartender (a European guy) was less than friendly, never smiled, and hardly gave any attention to me, other than to ask what I wanted. Service throughout the entire visit was extremely poor from this guy. At one point, when I ordered my burger, I asked for cherry peppers to be added to it, he simply said "no!" and walked away. I asked him if he said no and he agreed that he did. I told him to come back and I showed him the part of the menu that showed where you can get bacon and cherry peppers added to the burger and this was what I was referring to, except that I only wanted the cherry peppers...He walked away. I ultimately got the burger and as I suspected, no cherry peppers were on it. This guy was literally one of the worst servers I've ever experienced. Along this topic, I noticed that several places in town had these European servers and I asked some locals about this, seems there isn't enough locals to handle the jobs, so they hire these folks, which is fine as long as they teach them some basic customer service skills and monitor their actions to make sure they're not upsetting customers, causing poor reviews for their establishments. When it comes to the flavors - Their chili was decent. It didn't have much depth of flavor and was highly tomato sauce based, but was decent. The menu said it was award winning, which I found interesting, because what I ate didn't taste very award winning. The burger tasted pretty good! The meat was perfectly seasoned and flavorful and the temperature was spot-on. The bun was great. The toppings were also very nicely done. Their fries were excellent! I loved the crunch on the fries, they seemed like they were par-fried then finished fried to order - very nicely done! Overall, my score comes from the terrible customer service. I saw others servers giving great service to the tables, but I made the mistake of sitting at the bar and having this guy. Also, there was a blond lady, maybe the owner or manager who was busy chatting with guests who she knew most of the time I was there and was too busy to check on other guests at the bar, even though she as at the bar too. Tells me that they clearly care more about the locals and those they know rather than those who are just passing through. Maybe it's the reason for their other poor reviews, which I think is sad considering their interesting and unique menu. If they managed service the way they put together such a great menu this would easily be a 5 star place! Hope they turn things around!
