Hannah Grimes is an upscale shop featuring quality handmade artisan gifts and decor. Most of the merchandise has a New England theme, of course. There were rooms filled with art, jams and syrup, knitted and woven items, jewelry, woodworking and much, much more. The charcuterie boards caught my attention, but they were a little heavy to carry back on the plane. I did purchase a few gift cards, that were locally made. The clerks are friendly, but let you roam without pressure. Prices are high, as you would expect for handcrafted items. They have a public restroom. There is metered street parking out front. Worth a visit and a great place to buy meaningful gifts. read more

Staple of the downtown community they have all the crafts and goodies to make a great birthday or holiday gift basket. Plus way more art, studio pottery and clothing options in the back if you want to buy something to decorate your home or office. Grateful to have had the opportunity to stop in recently and hope to find the time to check in more frequently going forward. read more

Loved the Lake Champlain chocolates. Finding the White Mountain Candles aren't burning as fragrant as they smell in the jar. Some interesting and unique art. read more

Well, after the childish response from a manager after giving a poor review , this behavior shows the disgusting attitude of the manager you can only imagine how BAD the staff is treated and thus must be why the customer service is the worst I have seen in years! It's to bad that the organization and most of the artisans are trying hard . I have been in retail for over 4 decades and if myself or my staff ever attacked a customer or simply was friendly they would NoT have a job ... That being said I am versed in people and the arts ( my passion) and have run and owned businesses and would never allow a manager to be condescending to a client or any one else working there.. Hannah Grimes Marketplace is a must stop for me whenever we're in Keene. Even if just browsing it has so many nice displays and many quality products all locally made. I've had my eye on a rabbit pendant made of porcelain and taken from a black and white art design for months and we finally stopped in to get it during our weekend away only for my partner to surprise me and get me one with two squirrels (same design) instead. No objections from me! The price isn't cheap (all of the pendants and earrings appeared to be between $30 and $40) but the quality is so good and the pieces are so unique that every now and then it's worth it. I also was taken in by their owl display. They had several stuffed wool owls that reminded me of my favorite plushies from Montreal (sadly no longer in business) - Velvet Moustache that I just had to get one. I then had to leave so I didn't buy half of the store. Seriously, they've got so much cool stuff that's very unique and made with care and love that it's hard to pass by. read more

They carry everything from local beers/cider, pottery, honey/maple syrup, spices, wooden goods, ornaments, jewelry, candles, lotions/soaps, dog treats, etc! What a lovely store! The stock is focused on products of New Hampshire from artisans and producers of varying talents. We were struck by the quality of the art work and the quirky imaginations. We were especially drawn to small wood carvings of the faces of the Founding Fathers -- very clever and cute! The creators are all regional artists, and this store offers them a valuable marketplace for their work. It's a most attractive interior showcasing everything from tee shirts children's items to food (maple syrup, meats, wine, etc.). It struck us as a place to return to many times for our own purchases and for gifts for others. One small negative: the staff was somewhat distant, not that we expected to be gushed over, but a little warmer greeting would have better fit the atmosphere in this delightful shop right on Keene's Main Street. read more

The store is small but packed with a variety of items from NH including spices, wine, candy, crafts, jewelry and other things. It is a good spot to get some local souvenirs or gifts such as maple candy, maple syrup, crafts, toys, and more. The selection is limited due to the size of the store but nicely representative of the local crafts and food. read more

Stopped in while passing through Keene and glad I did. It was mid-April so not many tourists (but me) but the windows were eye-catching and pulled me in. I actually bought a few Christmas gifts (yes I shop all year round) and had to buy the Bacon Soap! And a few other things. Love this store for thoughtful gift giving. read more

Lots of local crafts featuring different artists, quaint little shop with so many things to look at. They also carry locally produced grocery. I bought so many little cute cards, magnets! Definitely worth a visit when you're in Keene. read more

This store is the soul of Keene NH and a must for anyone visiting the area. Great handmade gifts by local artisans, the nicest staff in town, some tasty treats. AND the best selection of eco friendly greeting cards and gift items from an independent company called Tree-Free greetings. I used to think of them as just wolves and fairies but they have great 100% post consumer recycled artvelopes (it's an envelope covered in ART that comes with their cards - get it? ArtVelope?) Super sweet 100% PCW journals. And these super innovative embossed metal boxed notecards that turn into a picture frame when you're done with the cards. Now that's reduce, reuse, reuse, reuse. read more

Very cute little store with all kinds of NH souvenirs, arts, crafts, cards, jewelry, pottery, etc. lots of snack & T-shirt options.

Pros: Everything is high quality & made in NH or VT. Amazing selection: greeting cards, matted and framed art, oil paintings, jewelry, kid's & baby items (aprons, booties, hats, bibs), yarn, cat or dog toys, dog treats, glass pieces (some functional like bowls, glasses), wood art (some functional like beautiful wooden bowls, jewelry boxes, etc), local perishable & shelf-stable food items (milk, bread, nuts, soup, eggs, etc), the best selection of Badger items I've ever see, soaps, etc. There's always something new. Cons: There are entirely too many greeting cards. Maybe 6-8 uprights all shoved close together makes it nearly impossible to look through - if you REALLY want a greeting card, it's going to be challenging. I just avoid that area all together because everything is so cramped! EDIT NOTE: So I docked them 2 stars (1 because of the incident & 1 because it's the Christmas season so cashiers should be extra-friendly to customers when the STORE makes multiple mistakes) because I was there recently & one of their items (which turned out to be three separate items strung together) did not have a price tag & the signage was completely useless so I thought that the price on the sign for the "large" was for the 3-piece item, when it actually turned out to be the price for ONE of the 3 items that were strung together & displayed as one. I explained my confusion & apologized a few times even though it was THEIR fault for the lousy signage & lack of price tags & lousy display. And not only did they not apologize once for their multiple mess-ups but, as I was leaving the store, the two cashiers scoffed at each other over "my" mistake. Tip to the cashiers: IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE FUN OF A CUSTOMER, MAKE SURE TO WAIT UNTIL THEY HAVE LEFT THE STORE!!! ALSO, YOU MIGHT WANT TO JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE SHOPPING STILL. Tacky. As. Hell. Don't know if I'll be back.
