Well-stocked and good balance between essentials and more novelty items. There's also kitchen supplies, dishes, and a satisfactory frozen section. I was a little surprised that the bottled beverages didn't include more tea and sparkling water from Japan, but that could be a supply issue. Employees are busy but happy to assist customers. Don't forget to bring your own bag. Some of the interior is noticeably worn and could use sprucing up, including better lighting. Was so grateful I stopped in to this market after visiting Tour Les Jours. It had so much amazing variety AND the 柚子七味 plus regular shichimi by a brand Imd been searching for everywhere in this country! It reminds me of favorite Korean-owned mom and pop markets I'd come to adore here on the East Coast. Always stocking the best stuff. The variety of snacks is already top notch, because they carry Sakeru gummy (if you know the Long Long Man CMs). They have so many unique drink mixes as well. I picked up a calamansi & grapefruit instant beverage mix on top of the drinks & snacks. They also have the abalone porridge/congee that I can no longer find in Ithaca. This is an Asian market with a Korean bent, although all Asian cuisines are represented in one way or another. Good varied selection of Asian delicacies, cold and hot noodles, some prepared food, many different types of dumplings, baos, snacks, many different types of sauces and condiments, fish cakes and the best kimchi I've had locally prepared by the store owner in her home kitchen. Due to inflation as with all types of food their products are pricy, but they do have many items "marked down" if you pay attention. Not only does this owner steal your money by charging you items you didn't even have in your basket to buy, she also sells you expired products & charges full price for items she has listed as on sale! Make sure you check every single item she rings you up for & that she adheres to her own sales prices listed. We do not live in the area & didn't have the time to drive back an hour. Our mistake for not throughly checking our receipts & products but no one goes shopping, thinking they're going to be surrounded with expired products. Every visit to Han's transports me back to all the Sundays of my youth when my family dragged me around Chinatown and Koreatown for grocery shopping. At the time I hated it, but trust me, it speaks to the authenticity of this place if upon entering I feel slightly triggered. For a small space, there is SO MUCH. I love that I can pretty much stock my pantry and spice rack in one go, but my absolute favorite thing about Han's is the prepared banchan! I've toyed with the idea of trying to make my own at home, but why mess with perfection? The quality and variety of these little packaged side dishes are fantastic. Get them and add them to EVERYTHING. Trust me, your palate will thank you. Real talk: I've lived in large cities with well-established Chinatowns and K-towns and was a little worried about what I'd do for my Asian food staples once I moved to Syracuse. Hans is right next to Tous les Jours, so you can always motivate yourself to go grocery shopping by promising yourself dessert afterwards. Of course, you don't even need to wander to the bakery for a treat, because Hans has an epic candy aisle. There are so many fun and brightly-packaged sweets; if I wasn't deluding myself with promises to eat healthier, I definitely would have indulged. They have a large assortment of grocery products. If you need specialty noodles, this is definitely the place to check. They also have a few household items. I didn't realize that the card minimum was $10, but the cashier (seemed like the shop owner?) was nice enough to ring up my order anyway. Recently discovered this place thanks to a coworker. Trust me when I say the jaws ice cream bar is amazing. Shark shaped fruit punch bar yes please!!! And the samanco fish (shaped) ice cream is amazing in strawberry and surprisingly also good sweetened red bean. I am blown away by the selection of imported Asian products they had to offer. From Korean to Japanese and everything in between, they had it all. The noodles were especially amazing and it's great to know that they have halal items too. The store was clean and well-organized, making shopping a breeze. Located next to Secret Garden Restaurant which is a great place to eat; there is also a french bakery using the same parking lot which has excellent baked goods. If you are looking for Korean, Thai, or Japanese foodstuffs, this is a great place to go. I have found a number of items in this little market that are difficult to find even in San Francisco! Do you want chestnut-honey popsicles? They got you, fam. Holy basil sauce? Yep. Marinated strips of spicy pork bulgogi? Oh yeah, defrost those suckers and grill them up. Heavenly. Everything's packed pretty high, so there's a risk of ferret shock here, but it's worth taking your time looking around. They don't have bags right now, so be sure to remember to bring your own in. One of my favorite places to stop by to grab (hard to find) ingredients for homemade Korean and Japanese dishes. I usually swing by to buy freshly made kimchi and produce. They have an assortment of sauces and ingredients (soy sauce, fish sauce, tamari, rice vinegar, seasoning, frozen dumplings, sliced meats for hot pot, rice, tofu, fresh produce too)! This is your go-to market for Korean goods like candies, meats, rice cakes, teas and sauces. I came here and got fish and Hoisin sauce. The price was fair. It is smaller than most Korean markets I have been to but it carries most of what you need. The Korean meat selection is small but it exists (I don't know where else you can buy it in Syracuse). I'm giving this place an extra star because the woman behind the cash register was very friendly, smiley and nice. My items amounted to $9.08, I gave her a $20 and she gave me $11 back. Been coming here for years. They have many products for differing Asian cuisines (Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc.). They make fresh kimchi, tofu, rice cakes, kimbap, etc. You can get almost everything you need. They have a good size freezer section of seafood, dumplings, and more. I have been Coming to Han's since I moved to Syracuse over 10 years ago. It is conveniently located next to Secret Garden and Tous. Often times after eating dinner we swing in here to pick up a few things. One of the cool things about Han's is they are one of the only smaller Asian supermarkets to survive the recent opening of the much larger supermarket down the street. I think its because of their great location next to the restaurant and having a few things no one else has. On that note one of the main things my wife gets when we come here is Mochi. They have a great selection of it and the prices are pretty fair. They also have your other standard fare of veggis, fruits, and meats. The main issue I have coming in here, is that is usually so dang cold. The employees usually have to bundle up. That really bothers me when I see them so cold. Heat is costly, but people shouldn't be super cold at work. Other than that, I recommend coming here! read more

Whenever I'm in a new city and I'm able to find a Korean market, I make an effort to stop by and check it out. My visit to Han's was easy one though, I was visiting my nephew and he needed some items, so we stopped by. They carry all the products you'll need for Korean cooking. I didn't have a lot of time to explore the market, but we went and picked up the items that we needed. We got a bottle of Sesame oil, 4 ramens, shikae drink (rice drink, which was like $7) and a seafood mix came out to like $30. Next time I'm in town, I'll have to spend more time to explore and see what other items they have... I did notice that they do carry some banchan's, but selection is limited. If you are in town, stop by if you need a Korean supplies... and stop by next door for some Korean bread and coffee. read more

The lady in front was hard to tell if she is nice or not. She looks like a typical old Korean, who is really nice to whites but kinda rude to the same Koreans. That's what all old Koreans do, I don't know why but they are being racist against to same race. Anyways, I bought a frozen fish out there, and I found it that it was partially rotten when I opened it up at home. Prior to purchasing food, I asked for expiration date but lady replied nervously, "it is 6 months". It is natural thing that you check expiration date of the food you are buying. But this frozen fish does not have any expiration date on it, and lady in front does not specified when it will get expired, she just replied as "6 months." You never know when it will get expire because you don't store fish at the same day. There should be some food that you received 5 months ago, and there should be other food that you recently received. I am so disappointed how the old Korean ladies are treating customers in here. She does not care about customer's health safety. I could read the negativity thru her attitude towards me and my wife. Please throw that away especially towards to same Koreans. We all know your place is only Korean grocery store in Syracuse, but that does not mean you can do whatever you want with ignoring the customer's safety. Enlighten your self and stay awake or you will be in big trouble for selling rotten food someday. read more

I can't say this is the best oriental supermarket I've been to, since I live near New York City, but it's one of the best here in 'Cuse. It's got all the essential oriental items I can ask for at reasonable prices. But don't think that you'll find any fresh foods here; this place sells only packaged items. It also skews more korean because the owners are korean, but it does still a good variety of chinese and japanese food items. read more

I adore this place, I really do. This is the only Asian market I have been to in Syracuse, and I find it simply delightful. There are better places in NYC and in NJ, but this one stands out to me. The lady owner is super sweet and friendly, and she learns about many of her regulars. The store is not too big, and is a bit disorganized. The prices are okay. Some things, such as the frozen food or ice creams tend to be a bit on the expensive side. It tends to have basic things sold there, such as snacks, prepackaged food and frozen items. I found that I love stocking up on the many flavors and variety of soups here- cheap, and so many to try! They tend to also have more of a variety with gummy candies, and not so much with chocolates or chips. Sadly, I haven't found any extreme flavor of items compared to other asian markets. Oooh, I love how many items are stuffed on the shelf- makes for an exciting surprise when you find the last of an item you thought was long gone. This is enough for me as I am a fan of just buying a ton of snacks. Overall, this is a great place to find simple items or late night cravings. I love this little market! It is small, but packed with so much food that you can lose track of time walking through it. They have a wide variety of Korean goods and some Chinese and Japanese too. Their homemade tofu and dumplings are delicious, as well as their other fresh products. Han's is a small Korean - Asian grocery store beside Sams Club on Erie. It's pretty tiny so they stocked a limited selection of fresh veggies, dry goods and sauces - naturally the focus is on Korean food but they sell items for Chinese and Japanese cuisine too. I like their homemade fried tofu and they make their own tofu, dumplings and I think the Korean rice noodles. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the parking lot is medium sized. They take cash, debit and credit (cards accepted for bills over $10 only). They are located next to Secret Garden, so why not go shopping after lunch? :) read more

This place is wonderful! Not to knock the other Asian grocers, but this one has Korean/Japanese products. And Nishiki rice! They also have a great section of snacks in the middle aisle. I saw Meiji chocolate and ki no ko and I even managed to find a brand of senbei that I like. It's small inside, mostly because they've managed to cram a lot in there. There's also a small but very fresh section of vegetables. Here's a small selection of things that I found that will make living in the frozen tundra a tiny bit more tolerable: konbu, daifuku, beer, really, really fresh ginger, bulk garlic, kamaboku, soba/udon noodles, atsuage, and lots of frozen foods. I didn't find natto--but then again, I was hoping not to find it! read more

This is a fantastic little store, where they manage to pack the shelves with a great deal of the Asian items that can be so hard to find elsewhere in upstate New York.
