I was charged $1.50 for asking for no ice in my drink, which is poor business acumen and service (Starbucks doesn't even charge for no ice). Fees here are inflated by $2-$3. We have been waiting to try the newly opened Hansel & Gretel Bakery Cafe. Today, we went there for a late afternoon coffee. The new location is on Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Suwanee. It is quite clean, has an open floor plan with lots of seating. Very inviting. I was looking for a savory pastry, rather than sweet. The options were limited, but it was almost 5 pm, so I understood that they may be picked over. I selected a pizza roll. Looking at it, I thought it probably was filled with cheese and herbs. There was no other labeling on it. I selected this and hubby picked out a sweet roll. We both chose 12 oz Cafe Mochas (hot). The mocha's were perfect. They allow you to select or modify the sweetness of your mocha, we selected the least sweet. This is a great option, as you are able to get a better taste of the coffee The first bite of my pizza roll was yummy, a bit of herbs and garlic flavor. The second bite revealed that there was a hot dog running through the roll. This was a surprise, and I don't eat pork, so I was concerned. I went to the counter to ask if the hot dog was beef. The young man at the counter didn't know so he went to ask the owner/manager. They indicated that it was a pork/beef combination hotdog. I will give a great shoutout to the owner/manager, because while I didn't ask for money back or anything (it was my fault for not asking to start with), she noticed that I didn't eat anymore of the roll and was preparing to throw it away. She sent the young man over to tell me to please select any other roll to replace it. I explained my situation and suggested that if it's not apparent that there is meat in the roll, perhaps they could write on the label. I felt it was a good start to their business. I plan to give them another try in the future, but will definitely look more carefully. read more

Great Korean bakery located next to So Gong Dong in the Assi plaza shopping center. Their cakes are delicious and their drinks are well made as well. The atmosphere is definitely geared towards Koreans as the place is always hopping with Korean groups elder and younger folks. Seems to be more of a popular spot for older Koreans to meet at though. Their customer service is friendly and the only setback I see here is their parking is a little crowded at times but overall that's not a huge negative. 5 solid Stars for Hansel and Gretel and I'm glad to see them doing well after all these years of them being in business. Such a yummy spot to go to for a late night craving! I enjoyed coming here in high school with friends for catching up, meetings and to study (although it's a bit noisy so not much studying was done haha!) It's a solid go to place when you're craving some light and yummy desserts. I got the fresh cream puff which is absolutely DELICIOUS everyone should try it. The cream is so light and there's a hint of perfect sweetness. I also got the mocha cake which was delicious but there was not any sort of coffee taste to it at all, just tasted like a plain cake. The chocolate cake was also delicious but you could also taste the flavor. There's an option for a vanilla or hazelnut latte (if you get the regular latte you'll need to add a packet or two of sugar). The hazelnut latte was the PERFECT amount of sweetness, not overwhelming at all just such a delicacy. The place is clean and service is quick and friendly! This is the OG Hansel & Gretel, located in the 109 Assi plaza. I think it opened over a decade ago, and this was the first location before the Duluth & JC location opened up. Hansel & Gretel is a nice bakery cafe, with some great drink selections as well - I used to come here all the time whenever I wanted to avoid the Arte crowd. I really do like Hansel & Gretel bread -- they have always offered some type of discount... especially after COVID and I think I like their loaf bread the best (after Paris Baguette of course...) but PB is so expensive. Their drinks are pretty good... not the best, but it's still decent. It's definitely one of the quieter cafes in this plaza, but it does not mean it's not busy. It gets pretty packed in here sometimes as well. I ordered an iced americano on my most recent visit, and I've started to get picky about my americanos - it tasted a little burnt, but it wasn't too bad. I've learned that I need to stop treating all cafes like Starbucks. I hope H&G's legacy lives on for a while - it's a great bakery to get Korean bread and a great place to hang out or study! read more

WAAAY bigger portions and less crowded than the Hansel and Gretel in Duluth. The service was really good, and I honestly like the layout of this place more. It seems more of a conversational place that is inviting for people to sit and stay for a while, it's well lit for people who'd like to study or chat with a friend. I love Hansel and Gretel Duluth, but this place is better! The pastries are so fresh and tasty, and my favorite would have to be the mochi twisted donut. The egg tarts are delicious as well. I tried the ice mango berry tea, and it is so good!! If you like mango concentrated drinks on the sweeter side, this is the perfect drink! The service is so fast, and the cashiers are really sweet. For drinks, we ordered the Iced peach green tea and their signature matcha strawberry latte. These two drinks are sooo good. Would definitely recommend these. There is a great variety of korean pastries and cakes to choose from. The whole cake designs are super cute, such as this sheep cake shaped with cream as the wool. Great place if you're looking for Asian pastries. The bakery is pretty spacious, and since there are plenty of tables and booths for you to relax and enjoy your goodies in, it'll be great if there was a way to heat up your pastries! Found this place while I'll was in GA for work. This is an amazing bakery. Great selection! I ended up going with some hot chocolate and some kind of chocolate yummy goodness I never seen before. I ate it before I could get a pic and sorry but the name escapes me lol. It was round like a bond bond but better. The hot chocolate was the best hot chocolate I've had in a while. Tons of parking right by the bakery, it is in the same plaza as Assi. I have shopped here a few times to get bread - there are a lot of varieties. Some of my favorite are the sweet potato bread, matcha bread and the fresh strawberry bread. This time we ordered a cake - honestly I forgot to ask what flavor it was. But it tasted like an Oreo filling with chocolate sponge cake. It wasn't too sweet and there are so many different kinds of toppings. Made it look extra special! They provide candles, you just have to ask for it. The last 3 times I have gone, there has always been a special, either 10% off or 25% off. There is both indoor and outdoor seating area. This is a local Korean bakery franchise. They have three locations and this is their newest one. It's quaint and nicely decorated. I love the addition to Pleasant Hill. They offer pastries, cakes, sweet breads, drinks, and Korean shaved ice. I like getting their cream puffs because it's only $.99 and does a good job of satiating my cream puff cravings when I don't want to splurge on Beard Papa's. The cream puff comes in plain, custard, matcha, and chocolate. I have to say the plain cream puff is my favorite. The puff itself is soft and does not have the light crispy texture of Beard Papa's. The coffee sucks. They will send out bad shots of espresso so the coffee is way too bitter to drink. I also ordered a misugaru smoothie and it was all ice. The staff should take better care to follow the recipes exactly. The staff also rushed me while i was ordering even though there was nobody else in line after me. Late but never too late for a review. I used to come to Hansel and Gretel all the time back in my high school days, before I could even drive. It was within walking distance from the school. Still quite a trek to get there but when you're hungry and thirsty you'll find some motivation to get to your destination. They are located in the ASSI Supermarket shopping center right off of Old Peachtree Rd in Suwanee, GA. They have a nice little corner spot in the shopping center. The interior has a very European mountain cottage like feel to it. Although they've gone through some renovations over the years, the core of the design and theme remain the same. You can pick between single tables or booths when it comes to dining in seating options. Often times you will see elderly folks relaxing and conversing among each other or the study group or two "studying". They server both as a bakery and cafe. You can order freshly baked cakes, pastries, and coffee, just to name a few. Prices are comparable to most similar places. Definitely affordable for most students working on a budget. The cakes have an amazing cream based frosting that makes all the cakes here taste amazing. My personal favorite is the strawberry cake. It's sweet and not too heavy when compared to most American style cakes. Overall, it's a nice little spot to enjoy some sweets with the company of others while relaxing and trying to study with friends. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Today I called for a mini cake ($27) and asked for a SIMPLE spider web to be draped over the plain white cake, so I can add a small spider man. The staff member was awesome in helping me figure everything out, she went above and beyond ( the only reason for the 1 star) but SUNNY/Suni the manager attempted to price gouge me adding OVER $30 for piping a VERY SIMPLE SPIDER WEB ON A SMALL PROTION OF THE MINI CAKE for a total of $70. ‍ NEVER AGAIN Going to take our business where it's truly appreciated and we're we are valued. read more

You should come here if you want to be mistreated with ableism and probably some racism! When you spend $100 at H&G, you recieve a free coffee and creme puff reward. I have spent nearly $200 on this establishment as I absolutely love their pastries. I come into this location to redeem my reward and immediately found the environment to be uncomfortable. I asked if I can switch the free coffee to a tea because I have a heart condition and I'm not allowed to have caffeine like that. The cashier was immediately weird and basically wrote me off to say that it was a no, and I could only have a creme puff. I explained my situation and she kept refusing to accomodate me. No efforts were made to ask her manager about the situation or keep me as a customer. It was just no, no, no. Mind you, they ran out of the free coffee they usually give out so she offered to give me an Americano. I don't know what that is nor can I even drink that. I left with my creme puff but decide to return, as I didn't appreciate how weird they were being. I asked for the manager upon my return and hilariously, the cashier asks why. I explain how it isn't right that I spent $100 in an establishment and I'm only able to take home half of the promotion because I have heart condition. I'm being penalized in an establishment for something I can't help, which is against the law by the way. The cashier basically told me that this is their policy and that the manager would say no as well. She also lied and said that she asked the manager, like Miss Girl I didn't see you do any of that. The manager came over and immediately said no without hearing me out. She also lied and said that she spoke with HER manager about it, which is hilarious because she didn't even know this was happening. Once she said all of this, I directly asked her, "So if people like me come in to redeem the reward, we can't have a drink because we have heart issues?" THIS WOMAN LITERALLY RESPONDED WITH A YES. If you want your company to survive against these bigger companies, you need to learn how to accodate your diverse customers and stop being condescending. Also, that creme puff was dry. We got the matcha strawberry bingsoo ($15.50) to share among three. The portion was good and I liked the crunch of the pecans in the bingsoo. Unfortunately, some of the bingsoo wasn't that fluffy texture I was accustomed to and was a bit sharp at times? There was also clumps of strawberry jam at the bottom that was super concentrated and didn't go very well with the matcha. We have been going to the Hansel and Gretel on Old Peachtree for about a year to work occasionally. They have an excellent bakery and my Daglona toffee latte has always been hot. I would give them 5 stars. This review is for the newly open location on Peachtree Industrial in Suwanee. We visited this new location around the lunch hour. I love the space for work, it is spacious, quiet, with plenty of seating with plugs for charging nearby. However, the bakery section was fairly empty, compared to our experience at the Old Peachtree location at lunchtime - it could be that the traffic has not picked up here so they are avoiding waste as they build up the new customer base. I was looking for the ham and cheese sweet bread sandwich they usually make at the other location and they were not carrying it. They didn't have the bacon, egg and cheese pastry, or the garlic sausage roll either, so we tried a beef croquette and a sweet custard croissant roll. The beef croquette was just okay, but the sweet custard croissant roll, delish! Sadly, my Daglona toffee latte (honeycomb latte), was lukewarm, it was underfilled more than an inch from the top, though I had ordered a large and had asked to leave the lid off to make room for the toffee, but there was not a large piece of toffee on top as I am used to from the Old Peachtree store location. I went back to the counter and explained that it was cold. They heated up more hot milk and added it to my latte. I received it hot, but without any toffee on the top. I understand they are new, but the baristas may need more training. In all fairness to this one, he was also handling the register and ringing people up, so they may need more staff at this location. read more

The owner is a pretty Korean lady that took time to explain some of her pastries as she was putting them on the shelf. The red bean bun was very good. The red bean filling was chunky as it should be. I really like this place. It's located in a cute shopping plaza with tons of other stores, restaurants etc . Free parking. Great prices. They have excellent coffee cold, hot, bubble teas etc. They have great service and everything is very clean. All the stores though get their food from the same bakery I believe and some of the product isn't great. I don't like all their cakes or breads, MOST of them are pretty good but they're all fairly generic in the area. If you know what you like this is a great place to come as far as food and desserts are concerned. It's a great place to study, it's quiet and has space. It's a great place for groups.
