After getting 1-2 gallons per hour from our well we called Well Company 1 who sent a technician out and determined that our pump was fine but our well was not producing enough water and that we needed to drill a new well. They stated that they were so busy that they could not drill a new well for 5-6 months. So we called Well Company 2, who sent out a technician who made the same determination and stated that they also could not put in a new well for many months. Neither company would quote us a date and did not call back, but did charge us for their assessment.
We finally called Hansen Drilling and stated that we needed a new well drilled despite knowing that they were super busy like the other well companies. They sent us a quote, gave us an estimated date, and added us to their list of future projects that they work their way down in the order they receive the request.
They sent out Mark B. who came out, looked at the well report and did some diagnostics. He determined that our pump was probably at the static water level and that we possibly had 225 feet of well depth below where the pump had been set.
We had a pump company come out and lower the pump 147 feet and now have great water volume and pressure. Mark saved us more than $15,000 between the cost of a new well and the cost of lowering the pump. We also have water 2-4 months sooner than having to wait for a new well to be drilled.
