I recently made a switch to Dr. Zamora after my long-time Family Practice physician retired. I wasn't happy with who bought his practice so I started looking. Dr. Zamora does accept a wide range of health insurances. Of course, you need to call first and see if he accepts yours. I am not old enough to be on Medicare but I think he accepts it as well. The first time I came into see Dr. Zamora was for a physical. He did a very good job asking about my family history across many disease states. He covered it from head to toe. I was very pleased with him and the time he took to get to know my history. The second time I went to this office was because I was sick. Dr. Zamora has two PA's that help with his patient load. When I am sick, I just want to be seen. I really don't care if it is by him or by his Physician Assistant. I don't want to wait two days for an opening when I wake up sick. I want to be seen as soon as possible. That is what they did when I called early on a weekday. I told them I was sick and really needed to get in to see him or one of the PA's. Boom! I got in on the same day I called. As a matter of fact, it was within three hours of my phone call. As it turned out, it was a bacterial infection and I did need an antibiotic. I was pleased with the treatment I received. Bottom Line: Dr. Zamora is friendly and has good bedside manor. My personal experience has been very good when I am sick and need to be seen ASAP. I do not hesitate to recommend Dr. Zamora for your family.

Between the lines of first day back and traffic around to school, I was 12 minutes late for my appointment. They promptly told me they wanted to reschedule. I was only there for prescription refills. It would have been a "sit in the office, small talk for a few minutes" apointment... and "here's your prescription refills". I'm on blood pressure medication and just need a refill and they don't care because I didn't call while I was driving through school zones to get to the doctors office. I have a job and kids and they have no problem making me wait for 10 to 15 minutes, but heaven forbid they wait for you for a few minutes. I'll be finding a new doctor that cares.

I told them to cancel my appointment then and I stormed back in my car. Then I realized, I haven't made my point just yet. So, I walked back up to the front door, opened it and pointed at the front desk lady and said "Oh, by the way, YOU'RE NOT WEARING A MASK EITHER!" I decided to walk out after 40 mins and Dr. Wong saw me walking out and asked if I was leaving and I said yes, I have been waiting for over half an hour and instead of issuing an apology or explanation he instead said "We can do it now". I'm normally a patient person but if you can't see me at the time YOU scheduled to see me and not 40 minutes later then I will find a Dr. elsewhere, my time is valuable too.

I advised her that I had 3 ultrasounds collected on my abdomen (external and internal) as I had pain from what I thought was a hernia. they found a mass in my uterus and a 3mm mass on my left kidney. I explained to her that I understand most holistic practices and know how I'd like to approach the issues. I wanted to talk those out with the dr, get her feedback or suggestions and have her monitor the progress. the upping last assured me that would not be an issue. I get to the appointment, pay and spent the next 45 minutes taking with the Dr who did nothing but assume diagnoses even when I said I didn't have certain things (I.e, sleep apnea, lymes disease). she would even write referrals after I said I knew I did not have these issues. I am a 42 year old woman, 5ft 10in, 165 pounds, very active, in the gym 6 days a week. I do not have a tongue tie, weight problem or sleep apnea. My focus is my uterus pain and my kidney. When I tried to talk to her about the issues, I was there for she let me know that she hasn't even looked at the ultrasound reports and wanted to refer me to have it done again. I told her if I was to have anything else done I would prefer an MRI so that we can get a better understanding of what was going on and she said she would would prefer that I just have an ultrasound done, external and internal. I explained again that I already had that done and it was a very in-depth report. She then left the room to go get the reports... They were not even in the file that she had in her hand. when she came back, I told her that I would like to do a parasite cleanse and also monitor my estrogen as I was estrogen dominan which could prompt the growth on my uterus. she said she would not do that and would prefer to look at all the other things that she had mentioned, and was not even concerned about the ultrasound reports that I had done as they may not be correct. She also told me I should get a pap smear...I asked why she would tell me that. She said "it is always good to have your routine check ups" nope. at this point I was intern upset and shut down. She never went into depth about anything concerning my estrogen dominance, my abdominal pain related to what they found on the ultrasound or even my kidney. She was very concerned with me having $2000 worth of referrals and blood work done for things I had already told her I did not need. There's more I could complain about but it just makes me mad. We are a single income family. I homeschool all three of my kids and don't have $500 to throw around so someone can scam me into seeing every friend dr they have for unrelated issues. I walked out of there with absolutely no advise, no attention to my concerns, and 5 referrals that I NEVER called on. However, I get spammed constantly from each one of these doctors offices that she wrote a referral to. They constantly call me, leave messages and text me trying to get me to set up appointments. I have never reached out to any of these doctors so I know she's gave them my contact info without my consent. I have never been spammed from so many doctors offices in my life! Every fantastically rated Dr. is located in Houston which would mean I would have to drive over 35 min and even close to an hour to get to my appointment so that didn't work. Finally I started calling Drs in my area. I got so much run around. One Dr. required you to be a part of a membership and you had to pay 1500 a year to be their patient. About 2 others that were recommended by friends and neighbors were retired and others just didn't have the type of ratings I was looking for. So I found Dr. Hewitt's information. I called and made an appointment with Chris. She was so friendly and answered every question I asked. I am used to other offices sending email or phone reminders so when my appointment day came and I noticed I didn't get a reminder I decided to call the office. Chris let me know that the Dr. was out sick and my appointment would need to be rescheduled. this bothered me a bit because if I didn't call I would have left work and gotten there only to be rescheduled. Fortunately I called ahead so that was avoided. I was able to reschedule for that same week which was very convenient. I got to my appointment 5 minutes early and signed in. At first glance the outside of the office is not very well kept. Its actually a home that was converted into an office. The waiting room is a bit small but it was not crowded. There was a bit of a wait because some patients walked in because it was the day before New Years and the office was going to be closed. I was one of the last patients to be seen. My wait time was not that long. I probably waited about 1/2 hour. I have waited much longer at other appointments. The nurse assistants were very apologetic about my wait and were all very sweet. This made my wait bearable. Once I got into the room Dr. Hewitt came right in and got down to business. We spent a good hour just discussing any issues I may have had, she was very thorough with her explanations and made me feel completely at ease. The office atmosphere is totally casual and she is too but the lady knows her stuff. I felt at home with Dr. Hewitt. She didn't miss a thing. I like that she sat down and listened to me and I never felt rushed. I have been to other Dr appointments where I felt like I was an inconvenience. I was even able to bring in lab results I had gotten a month before to her and she was happy to go over them with me and addressed all my concerns. Thank Goodness I have no major medical issues but if I did I would feel comfortable with Dr. Hewitt as my physician. I look forward to my follow up appointments and recommend Dr. Hewitt for sure.
