Instead of selling me the most expensive ones, he found me some that would be more than adequate for my spare car. Hansen Tire packed the wheel bearings and replaced the tires on my 2018 Jayco Trailer and did a great job. When you first walk into this business your first impression is, "Oh my gosh is this place scuzzy." It's dirty. Tires and clutter everywhere. The office has papers and other stuff all over. But so what. It's workplace not a showroom. The service was friendly. The technicians were knowledgeable. The work was done as scheduled. And as a former tire tech myself, I was impressed with the proficiency of the tasks performed. The new tires were cleaned and Manuel even offered to place in clean bags my old tires that I wished to take with me for spares. Cory the manager was pleasant and informative. The took care of my back brakes for half the price of another competitor les Schwab tires who were going to charge me double the price. I don't know if there guy was new but I was shown that my car didn't need new rotors like they said. These group of guys are the most genuine people! They have awesome customer service and more than anything, really want to help you. I messaged them about getting my brakes repaired because of a noise and so they scheduled me the next day for a free estimate. Took it in to their shop and they took my car for a spin to figure out what the issue was. Did a thorough check inside and under the car. They could have said I had bad brakes and rotors or anything else and charged me for it. BUT instead, told me my brakes were still good ( had a couple years left to them ) and there was really nothing wrong except of normal wear and tear that happens with an older car. My father and ex-father-in-law were buying tires from Mr. Hansen 45 years ago. They're both gone now and one of Hansen's employees was given the opportunity to purchase the business. Here many years later, It is still going strong due to the extremely honest professional and courteous service Cory and his staff continue to provide. Having bought my last set of tires there, they are not yet worn enough to replace....but I was in Merced attempting to get replacement license plates for my car because the front one was stolen. I had no tools to get the rear plate removed and was trying to figure out where I could get help to do so, when Hansen's came to mind. Caesar took a pneumatic wrench and removed the bolts off in seconds. I'd have never got those off myself even if I had the tools. He offered to put my new plates on once I got them, so returned to have Caesar put the two new ones on for me. That kind of friendly helpful service is what insures I'll be buying my next set of tires there when they finally do need replaced! I highly recommend them to anyone needing tire services! read more

I've been a customer for many years. Recently I went in to have my tires rotated. Corey let me know that two of my tires needed to be replaced. He could have told me all four and I would have done it, but he's a very honest man. He pulled it up on his computer and showed me that he had replaced one of my tires a while back and another a while before that due to severe punctures. I had completely forgotten. Also, the last time I got my tires rotated, he got me in on very short notice because I was leaving on a long trip and he didn't want me to drive that far without him rotating & checking my tires. Got two very expensive tires for my Acura MDX. Their prices were comparable to the corporate tire places that have proliferated here recently. Yes, I could have gotten slightly lower prices by creating a bidding war, but I didn't want to as this is a locally owned business. Service took a little longer than at a box store tire place. They provided transportation though. My tires were not filled to the manufacturer requirement when I left. I was a little disappointed in that, but I will remind them next time. They were pretty busy on a Friday afternoon. The best part is that they found a leak in the front strut. My car is still under warrant so I was able to go and have it fixed at the dealership. I'm pretty sure the big box store would not have caught that. So a little busy, a miss on the air pressure, but competitive pricing, local business, very friendly, and major catch on the leak will keep me coming back. I'll change my review to 5 stars after the next chance when I am sure they will exceed expectations. read more

One of the best small-town tire places left in Merced (I've also used Schoettler's Tire before to get a patch done). If you'd rather talk to someone who owns his own business than drones at Tire Corp. go to Hansen's Tire. I had never bought tires on my own before (I'm a student at UCM and just left my parents house a few years ago) and the owner/front desk guy helped me learn about the tires and choices and gave me a good deal (I price checked with Costco and Big-O).
