I was referred to VP due to needing a new catalytic converter for a failed smog test. The part took 6 months to arrive, but once they had it, in less than 24 hours my vehicle was fixed. They took the vehicle back to the original place the smog test took place at and the vehicle passed smog. The owner even gave me a ride back to the shop...during lunch! This shop charges you a fee to use your credit/debit card. I don't know how many people pay cash for a SMOG test, but I'm now one of them. Either take cash or take your vehicle elsewhere. read more

Hello fellow consumers. Be weary of this shop. A vehicle was taken in for a smog check. Unfortunately the vehicle did not pass. Repairs were done to said vehicle without customer authorization. Parts were replaced and old parts not shown to customer. A simple smog check was was billed at $1,200. read more

Do not waste your time or money coming here. The times I've taken my cars here they seem to give me more problems going out than when they came in. I went in because my car wouldn't hold a charge and they asked if I knew if it was the battery. I'm not a mechanic and told them someone suggested the alternator be checked. They did a diagnostic and told me I need a new battery and offered to replace it at $230!!! No way. I declined the overpriced repair and was charged $70 bucks to tell me this. They should have let me know up front what they charged so I could have shopped around. My bad for being an uninformed female but I'm new to town and know already I won't be going back there. If I could, I would have given more stars! I recently moved to California and never dreamed that I would have trouble getting my less than a year old vehicle to pass a smog test! I was told by no less than 3 service specialists as well as the BAR Referee that I would just have to drive the car (in order to get the drive cycle to complete). 900 miles of driving did nothing to remedy the problem! At my wits end, I took it to V P Auto Repair and asked them to keep my car until they could find the problem...at this point I didn't even care how much it would cost! First of all, they didn't brush me off and tell me to just drive it until it fixed itself. They had the problem fixed in less then 3 hours and even took it back to the smog station where I had originally had it tested whereby it immediately passed the smog test! And it didn't cost me an arm and a leg! They will be my first stop from now on when it comes time for the dreaded smog test and for any other problems that might arise with my car. By the way, they are extremely busy, so obviously others think highly of their work as well! read more

My grandma recommended this place to me because of great customers service, and good reasonable prices. I bought a car and it failed smog, the young lady in the office explained to me the fees for the diagnostic, the estimate after the diagnostic was done with no hidden fees. I was glad that my car passed the smog and I was on my merry way. The best part was that they treated me with respect and did not take advantage of me since it tends to happen with women. In addition, they also gave me a ride to and from since I had errands to run.
