Get ready to cry all the tears, because this show always gets me in my feels. My one MAJOR complaint is that the cast members tasked with crowd control aren't willing to be confrontational with guests when it counts. We had secured seats well over an hour before the show was starting and then 10-15 minutes into the show people came and stood in the walkway in front of us. I just wish Disney closed the walkways to outside traffic or something once the show has already started, as it negatively impacts the guest viewing experience. The quality of the show itself is top tier, as the combination of projection, audio, and fireworks is truly unmatched. I was very pleased that the focus of the show was on the old, nostalgic Disney movies (think Toy Story, Hercules, Mulan, and Frozen) rather than some of their newer or live action projects. Trust me, it is worth missing out on that one last ride to get good seats for this show! read more

Happily Ever After is the current fireworks show for Magic Kingdom. My family and I were staying at the Polynesian Resort which is right next to Magic Kingdom. Both times we had theme park reservations to Magic Kingdom, unfortunately, we couldn't last until 9:15 p.m. Instead, we ended up sitting at the beach area and pool at the Polynesian resort area during the evenings to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks show. We couldn't see the laser or projection show as you'll have to be within Magic Kingdom, next to the Cinderella castle to see it. The music and fireworks though was absolutely stunning! It starts around 9:15 P.M and goes until 9:30. You'll hear some of the Disney classic songs like from Tangled. It's absolutely awesome!! It's a must do if you're visiting Magic Kingdom for the day! read more

This is a must do when you're at Disney World in Magic Kingdom!!! If you want good seats, arrive 1.5-2 hours before the show starts. Show starts at 9:15pm and ends at 9:30pm. The projection and color that shows on the castle is magnificent and so clear!!! I love that it tells the story and the music in the background makes you reminisce about all the beloved Disney movies you've watched when you're growing up or recently watched. The fireworks are beautiful!! I suggest sitting in the front and wait until it starts to stand up. Only the front have to stand for the duration of the show due to they don't want people getting trampled over. read more

The park itself....a bit overrated in my opinion. But the "Happily Ever After" park closing fireworks show.....wow!!! This and the Dole Whip are worth the admission alone. The thing I was most looking forward to on our Disney World trip was this show. It blew my expectations out of the water. It's so beautiful and some how so moving. My eyes started watering at just how beautiful and moving it all is . The epic combination of different songs and scenes from classic Disney films projected onto the castle with the synchronized fire works show and lasers. Wow! Just wow! From what I've read this show will be discontinued towards the end of this year and replaced with Disney's 50th anniversary closing show. Which I imagine will be just as good most likely. But I'm glad I got to see Happily Ever After before it goes away. read more

This show was pure Disney magic! To be totally honest, I'm not all that familiar with the nighttime shows at the parks. I had previously only been to Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom, which I do like, but doesn't have the awe factor that this show has. We had also recently been to Illuminations at Epcot and found that a bit disappointing and underwhelming. This show is set to a lovely heart warming score. My favorite part of Happily Ever After is the changing projections on the castle. I love the classic elements of the parks from my childhood, but this experience feels so fresh and modern. I really liked it! The fireworks in the back of the illuminated castle were absolutely breathtaking. I enjoyed seeing the movie scenes projections as well. I didn't know all of the characters that were included in this, but I still greatly enjoyed this spectacular show. I had turned up for the show a few minutes before it began, but could still enjoy it from the side. It was a cold and rainy night, so I suspect the crowds were lower than usual. I moved my viewing location halfway through and watched from Main Street and enjoyed that just as much. This is a must do if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom! read more

This is probably my favorite show I've seen here! I loved all the different movies they incorporated and all the songs! I have some favorite parts at the beginning and end but all of it was good! When I was here I started at 8 and a cast member informed me it was the show they regularly do between the seasonal shows. I'm always here for some holiday so it makes sense I've never seen it! Happily Ever After is the new resident fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom, replacing Wishes this past spring. While I heard great things about this show - one source going as far as saying it's the fireworks show that the Magic Kingdom deserves - I wasn't the biggest fan of it. Probably my favorite part of HEA was the music - Disney did a good job incorporating classic songs as well as tunes from some of their newer films. The fireworks were also pretty - there's no short supply of them in HEA. What I didn't like about HEA (compared to Wishes) was that there wasn't really a storyline or theme that tied the show together. You can argue that creating your own "happily ever after" carries through the show, but for me it got lost somewhere in the middle and isn't as strong a theme as there was in Wishes. Disney did a nice job adding newer technology to the show in the ways of projected images on the castle, but I see that as a disadvantage to those viewing the show from further away or from the observation decks at the surrounding resorts - you really won't get the full experience if you don't see the castle. Finally, I thought the ending could have been a little more grand - it was nice but not as strong as the finales of Disney's other fireworks shows. While I definitely agree that it was time to retire Wishes (that damn song always got stuck in my head), I'm not sold on HEA being a rightful successor. The fireworks are pretty and the Disney magic is definitely there, I just expected a bit more. read more

Happily Ever After is the new fireworks show at Disney World that began on May 12, 2017 replacing the Wishes show. After watching the production on You Tube I was so excited to see it in person. I had planned to try to get in front of the castle about an hour before the show but we had some 9 o'clock fast passes to Splash Mountain and the ride was delayed so we only made to the castle about 15 minutes before show time. The bridges and roads to the castle were shut down to pedestrians but I found a way in. There was no way I was going to watch it cast off the side. The show starts with a song called Happily Ever After which you can download on I Tunes. It's very moving and goes along perfectly with the fireworks and projection on the castle. Through out the whole show they are constantly projecting different scenes on the castle. Sometimes they are changing the look of the castle, adding characters to it, adding water, turning it into the Up house and even making a rocket blast off the turret. All the while music is playing and perfectly timed with the pyrotechnics that are going off. My description cannot do justice to this show. Even my daughter who was not sure what to expect was wowed. The whole show you can hear the crowd oohing and ahing and singing along to their favorite songs. At one point the villians take over the castle and knock it down but the heroes rebuild it and save the day. Tinker Bell even blasts of the top and floats through the air. This show was probably my favorite thing I saw during my whole Disney trip. Even though I was packed in tighter than a sardine I wouldn't miss this for anything. Disney is truly at the top of their game with this show. read more

I never want to stand in the same spot for an hour to get a great location (and later have people jostle you to get as good a spot as they can), and I don't like finding a location that is half obstructed by trees only to still have people cram themselves in front of you with kids on their shoulders. We tried to make room for a nearby child who wasn't on a set of shoulders, but the crush of selfish so-called adults wouldn't allow it. So after some fruitless effort, we shrugged and walked to the exit and beat the rush to the Transportation Center and then on to the parking lot. Disney does do a pretty good job of helping large numbers of people get off the property. If this planet ever becomes civil again, I will try to watch the fireworks again, perhaps. It seeks like people either hate it because it replaced the old Wishes fireworks show or because they hate the music, or else they love it because it replaced the old Wishes fireworks show or because they love the music. Me, from now on I will watch it on YouTube or from a parking lot in Clermont. (The latter is a joke, I don't know if you can see it from Clermont). read more

I'm going to miss Wishes, no question about it. But, Happily Ever After is a great replacement show. It still has the same magic and emotion as the previous shows. It could use a more robust finale, more fireworks perhaps (the music is fine). But, overall, the timing with the fireworks and the imagery on the castle are very well done. Happily Ever After is the new fireworks and nighttime Spectacular show at Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. The Spectacular is exclusive to the Walt Disney World resort. We were advised by a cast member to arrive even earlier than what my party had already planned to do. Despite our best effort we had arrived at the Magic Kingdom approximately only twenty minutes prior to the start of the Happily Ever After fireworks and nighttime Spectacular. We made our way down Main Street and surprisingly still were able to find a great view and relatively close spot to Cinderella's Castle. Several friendly cast members had asked awaiting guests who had already staked out their viewing spot to stand up and move even closer to the Castle that was now even quite a bit closer, considering that we had arrived just minutes earlier this was an excellent spot. There really are not any bad spots to watch the Spectacular from, but I would expect that arriving only minutes to the start of the Spectacular would result in a less than an ideal spot, but this was not the case. This is partially due to the many of cast members who do a great job in guest control assisting guests where to find an available spot. The announcement at ten and five minutes prior to the start confirmed that the Happpily Ever After Fireworks and nighttime Spectacular does start at 9pm sharp. The lights on Main Street fell dim, the narrator took over, the all familiar music surrounded you as you stare in awe at Cinderella's Castle which looked like a high definition tv as it glowed in amazingly adorning colors. You immediately realize why this is referred to as a Spectacular. Take pictures, take video, grab your favorite viewing spot and get ready to be amazed by Disney again. The approximately 20 minute long Spectacular is the newest must see at Disney. In true Disney style they brought the Magic to the Happily Ever After Fireworks and Nighttime Spectacular, boy did they. I heard there was a new fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom so it was at the top of the list of things I wanted to do while in Disney and it did not disappoint! Make sure you are close to the castle so you get a good spot. There are digital images that are projected onto the castle throughout the show. It was really cool! The fireworks themselves were amazing as always. I enjoyed the music and the interplay between the images, the music and the fireworks. Some people think if you've seen one fireworks show, you've seen them all but there is just something so magical about seeing fireworks in Disney overtop Cinderella's Castle! (Formerly Wishes) Wishes is my second favorite fireworks show in Disney, only after Fantasmic. I love Wishes because of the awesome music mostly, but the best view of the show really is in front of the castle, preferably close to the partners statue. If you get there around 30 minutes before showtime, you'll have good seats for not only fireworks but Celebrate the Magic, which is an ever changing projection show they do on the castle, only visible from that side, that takes place before Wishes each night. read more

As an avid fan of Wishes I was sad to see it go. In fact I remember going to the first night of wishes years ago and thought it was special. I had high hopes for the new show and it surpassed all my expectations. The visuals were beyond amazing, the implementation of up lighting and additional enhancements to the trees and surrounding areas around the castle were a cool effect that adds another dimension to the show. The music is done so well I wanted to run out and get the soundtrack immediately. There were more ooooohhh's and aaaaahh's than one can handle. However here comes the but...... But as someone who has seen Wishes inside the park and outside the park and from out on Bay Lake too many times to count I can say that the "Fireworks" were a sight for all to see. Sure there were always enhancements on the castle but now it's all about the close proximity and visuals on the castle. Yes there are fireworks, and cool ones at that but if you aren't in the Castle Hub or on Main Street you aren't going to get the full enjoyment. Does this make sense from a business perspective? Absolutely. Does it harm the Specialty Cruises, dining at California Grill or any other fireworks viewing areas outside the park? Probably not. But is it as magical? Well that's for you to decide, but the fireworks are really meant to be seen from Inside the park. read more

The new fireworks show features some mediocre singers blathering on about something; and, each song comes to a thundering conclusion, for which one expects the "grand finale" but, it just keeps going on; and, on; to the next song. The fireworks themselves are really something special, with effects like you've never seen before! However, the music is a real distraction. However, my wife and I were so happy to see that Tinkerbell still runs the zip line off the castle spires toward the end. read more

Disney's Happily Ever After is best viewed in HD on YouTube! You'll see more of the PowerPoint projection which threw up incongruous clips from Disney's newer movies better that way. If you try to see it in the parks, chances are highly likely that you will have a cell phone, or child in front of you blocking the view. The positive side of this show is that it has a catchy sound track. Although due to the fact it is written in a way that is so pop and trend, it will be quickly dated. There is absolutely no story to this show. Ironic, since Disney is supposed to be known as the industry leader in story telling. Mickey is missing. Also ironic since "It all started with a mouse." The fireworks are just fireworks. Disney cut way back on this aspect of the show and threw in the projection to save on cost. The fireworks are the same as you'll see at any county fair or 4th of July event. But Disney choreographs the projection and music with the pyrotechnics and somehow wows the crowd. Disney has figured out that the crowd is easy to amuse with cheap tricks and totally left out a story. All in all, an experience worth skipping once you've seen it on YouTube. Absolutely amazing! This new nighttime spectacular recently replaced WISHES, and had some big shoes to fill! Combined with a wonderful soundtrack, this show utilizes laser projection mapping on Cinderella's castle, lasers, lights, and Disney's signature pyrotechnics for a wonderfully choreographed show. Various scenes and Disney characters come to life on the castle, from Ursula's tentacles wrapping around the castle's turrets, to the floating lanterns from Tangled, to an under the sea scene of Nemo and friends. The scenes are crisp and clear, and embody true visual magic! Do not miss this nightly show - and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to show time to guarantee a good spot, in the hub in front of Cinderella's castle! And Tinkerbell still does fly from the top of the castle (albeit near the breathtaking finale)! read more
