I reserved a place at this trailer park to stay in while working in the area. I literally had my reservation for 8 minutes, when I received an email stating that the owner had cancelled my reservation. When I reached out to him, he did respond one time to tell me that he rented it instead to someone in his office. He then did not respond again at all. Even tho I repeatedly tried to ask if he had anything else available. My money then was held for 15 business days by Airbnb. So not only could I not reserve any of his other "cottages" I also couldn't rent any place else. And for all the reviewers saying he is a "solid guy" I would suggest you sleep in your car between shifts and then decide whether anyone is solid. I will never again use Airbnb and I would warn anyone else to go in person to the office if you want to be sure to have any money or a place to lay your head. I rarely give bad reviews. Even when they are due. I'm outraged and seriously inconvenienced by the lack of response and care by this person and by Airbnb. Lucky for him, I can't review on Airbnb since he cancelled me. But I will definitely be warning any other travelers not to stay here. Wish I could give a zero rating. read more

I loved our "key west unit". The unit was so tastefully tropically decorated, it really felt like we were at the beach! it was very clean and spacious and had everything that we needed for a week stay. we didnt have any issues that needed to be addressed, but when checking in and out we found the staff to be very friendly! I loved the little personal touches, like having toiletries in the bathroom. read more

We've stayed in one of their full hookup RV sites for 2 months now and plan to stay for another 2 or 3. My family and I are really impressed with the staff (shout outs to John, Kim, Cassie, and Tony!!) and the grounds are so well kept and thoughtfully laid out. We RV full time and this is easily one of the best parks we've stayed. Laundry is clean and the machines work well. Oh and there's a full gym! We're a same-sex couple and have had negative stays because of this at many parks, but not here. Not all the neighbors are friendly but many are, and everyone is respectful of space and quiet hours. Let's star by being honest I just flew in from Korea my wife got us an Airbnb here and I thought to my self it's cheap what ever I'm sure it will be trash but boy was I wrong. When I first drove into the place u can see amazing colored homes and ppl waving that live there check in was easy and we also got a free upgrade from a one bed room studio to a full bed room studio they have WiFi and the gym here is simply everything you need and more I would have never thought this place would be nice and quiet but it really is and well worth the money!!! read more

Staying in a full hookup RV site for about 1 month. The owner was having a trailer painted behind our site and the painters over sprayed paint all over our kids bike, our camper, and my vehicle. They offered to pay for the detail of my car after I got a quote. Once I was able to get a quote a week later they refused to pay for the damage. I will not be continuing my stay here and do not recommend to anyone. Staying here has made things for myself extremely inconvenient having to deal with the repairs of my vehicle out of pocket. The owner was also extremely aggressive towards my husband when initially bringing the issue to his attention. No stars for this company. read more

Let me first start off by saying, Yes I did live there, let me finish that statement by saying THANK GOD I'M NOT ANYMORE! I got married and we needed emergency housing, someone pointed us this way because we saw it on a website but weren't going to. They said they were cheaper though than the other place that we were gonna move into so we decided to give them a shot. Now let me "paint" a picture for you... you see a ghetto-ey gas station to your left as you're coming down the road, and suddenly around the slight curve you see BRIGHTLY colored trailers, to your right, to your left there are your normal greys and whites and they were so bothered by the colors they put up a fence! These aren't your average colors, there is actually a trailer as you pull in that looks like big bird, I shit you not, big bird! Yellow on top and big bird orange legs on the bottom. So their "office" is painted all mural like, now Mardine is nice, she can make ya laugh, and you'll catch her riding her unicycle sometimes, or walking their dog Rocky (who by the way is not friendly so if you have kids go elsewhere) as for her husband or boyfriend or whatever he is, John, he needs to lay off the creatine powders and steroids or whatever he's on because his moods change like a light switch and he's rather agressive and I don't mean in a good way. One of my friends who was very pregnant locked herself out one night with her daughter and it was raining (her daughter was a year old) she called maintenence and they wanted to charge her. She said no thanks and that she'd get into her own place. He called the cops on her. It turned into a whole spiel, he wound up cussing her in the streets and everything at one point too and it was pathetic. Even the cops tried breaking into her place! You wanna cuss anyone, cuss them! Anyhow another one of the girls I knew they NEVER charged for service calls, and she caused more drama that I knew than my friend who had some bad luck. I was broken into TWICE! while I was there. My front door never locked properly and I told them that, maintinence came out and "fixed" my door, he explained I had to play with the lock.. Play with my deadbolt? Basically I had to put all my weight on my doorhandle and PULL as hard as I could and should be able to wiggle it to lock, then I have to wiggle to unlock it. Ummmm yeah. In case of fire wiggle yourself out. I had a small child though and the thought of playing with locks wasn't appealing, I asked them to fix it again, never did. So I was broken into twice. All they did was put a plate on the door. That didn't stop them they went for the backdoor the next time. We had things stolen right out of our front yard too. Their lawn maintinence crew are jerks, I planted a small flower garden along my sidewalk leading up to my place, they mowed it over everytime. Even after I asked them to stop, they could see exactly where it was. There was constant gang activity even with increased police drivebys and this is MILITARY personnel involved in this. Do you really think a cop is going to stand up to several soldiers that are in a gang that just came from a deployment? Prolly not, just gonna say have a nice night boys. Drug dealers everywhere in that place too. Not safe for kids at all, I wouldn't let my daughter out of my sight, and I was pregnant at one point and worried about my baby due to the breakins as well. Also people are of course judgemental there cracks me up, you buy something nice for your kid you're suddenly shunned because you saved up the money to do it. Anyways the best thing for that place is for the guys at the military base to come do their tank exercises there. read more

I was here for business and stayed in one of the furnished units. It was very quite and I took a walk in the middle of the night and noticed it was pretty quite outside as well. My unit looked like it was completely rehabbed and it smelled like it was just redone. Rate was pretty affordable and Ill come here again when I come back to Hinesville. I recently left Happy Acres due to unforeseen circumstances. It is unfortunate, because I really liked it there. First I will say I am a single 53 year old woman with a large Husky. I was severely limited straight away in finding pet friendly housing in Hinesville GA. The second issue for me was safety. Third issue was clean and affordable. At Happy Acres I found all of these issues as non-existent. I lived in a clean 2 BR within a safe and quiet neighborhood. My dog was well accepted and the rent could not be beat! The staff was always friendly. The owner is reasonable and fair, yet unwavering in maintaining a respectable housing environment for tenants and guests. In addition, the maintenance folks were right on point providing excellent service in an immediate fashion whenever the unexpected problem would arise. Saving the best for last; they also have a pretty awesome dog park on premises for your four legged pals! Highly recommend all the way around! Cynthia K. read more

So, four months later, I'm still a fan (and will probably stay after my lease is up). My immediate neighbors are younger military families who stick to themselves and the only noise I've heard in the wee hours of the morning are some people in one of the temporary dwellings on another street--they must have a weird schedule. (I wrote the above on 12/16/2014). I moved out last January, after have renewed my lease from January 2015-January 2016. Since writing the above, Happy Acres began extending their RV and travel trailer lots, in the process removing some of the older mobile homes. I also got into the habit of walking my dog throughout the trailer park as well as through surrounding neighborhoods. There were never any issues with other tenants or anyone else. My experiences there were always positive and I hoped to find a similar community across the state in Columbus (alas, no pet-friendly trailer parks, much less gaudily-painted ones with clean lots and community standards). While I own a home in another state, if business or pleasure bring me back to Hinesville, I will not hesitate to walk back into the office for short or long-term housing. read more

WISH I COULD PUT ZERO STARS. Let my s@#$ situation be a warning to you. I moved here because I thought it would save me money being that it's a trailer park. WRONG. I moved into a nice unit there and literally 1 week later was told I was deploying (was not supposed to go but they decided to send me last minute). Cool. Not my fault, not the properties fault. I was supposed to return after about 3 weeks but it ended up being about 3 months I was gone before I got sent home. That said, I was on automatic payments to pay rent and power while gone. I called them in advanced of 30 days to tell them that I was deployed and when I returned I was going straight to school for 3 months so I needed to put in notice. The lady said I needed to fill out a form and give them orders and I'd be good. Told her to email me the form and she told me I could just give it to her when I got back no problem. Fast forward, I get back and immediately move all my stuff to a storage unit the same day and turn my paperwork in. I was told at that time i didn't give 30 days notice so I had to pay whole months rent. Tried to tell them that I called and gave notice was told I could just turn the papers in in person since it was a unique situation to which they tried to say that never happened. Ok. THEN I was told a prorated price on rent for the month I was going to have to pay of $476 and when I did my move out inspection I was quoted $100 for having the carpets cleaned. Cool. Since i was on auto payments i figured they would take out what i owed automatically because i never told them to stop payments. Since I paid a $1200 deposit (first months rent + deposit for people with excellent credit HAHAHA not worth it) I assumed I would get back about $100 since they send you your deposit less what you owe after 30 days. Called today to find out why i never got a check and was told some BS about how i never paid the last months rent so instead of $476 it went up to the actual amount of $578 which is prorated rent without my 10% military discount AND water for the whole month $70 AND the $100 cleaning fee. WHAT?! this place is a friggin money sucking dump that could give a s@#$ less about you. DO NOT LIVE HERE. You can find a nice apartment NOT IN A TRAILER PARK WITH CENTRAL HEAT AND AIR for the same money you'd pay here without central hvac. It is not worth it. Spend your money in a nicer place. read more

PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!! My family and I moved into Happy Acres thinking the staff (mostly John) were friendly and cared about their jobs. Don't be late on your rent (even after you worked something out) because John will bad mouth and treat you like crap until the day you move out and then take his sweet time to return your safety deposit before the 30 days is up. If your military or retired military trust me John shows you little or no respect and if your a disabled Veteran and you need a service dog he will avoid the laws and think he can charge you a "pet deposit" unless you get a lawyer or JAG and still then John will yell and scream at you. read more

Excellent place to stay for short or long-term housing! I'm currently a guest in one of the furnished units, and have not one complaint. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the neighborhood is QUIET and SAFE, there is FREE WiFi, a gym, laundry facility, the area is well lit at night, and the furnished units are set up very nice. Everything is modernized with all the amenities needed. Private parking included too! A lot more convenient and economical than a hotel room out in town. I would recommend Happy Acres to anyone who is in the area and has a need for housing. Excellent value! read more
