    Durian Cake

I love love love the durian cake here. I've gotten it for my birthday multiple times over the years and will never get tired of it. If you're a durian fan, you won't be disappointed as the owner puts an abundance of durian into the cake. The cake part is always moist as well. It's also great how you can order the day of and pick it up a few hours later. I've also tried the flaky meat pies here and while messy, it's so so yummy. Must try! I recommend the beef one.

Durian bun, best to go before late afternoon to get your hands on these!

Happy Cake House has a wide range goods and is open later than most bakeries. When I visit, Im all about their peanut "snowball" (crunchy peanut wrapped in chewy rice flour, topped with a layer of coconut on the outside), their ube/taro pastry, and their walnut almond bun. They also do really good mango and taro pudding and they're the only Asian bakery I know in Mississauga who does a durian custard bun (on weekends). Their buns are always fresh and though it does cost a bit more than others in the area, I appreciate the later hours and the variety of buns. Edit: I custom ordered a durian cake from HCH, and the pickup date happened to be today---when an explosion levelled parts of the strip mall across street, forcing the closure of the plaza and the entire block. Instead of just locking up shop and heading home, staff called and asked me to come as soon as I could, advising the shop had to close, but that they would wait for me to get there to hand deliver the cake via their back entrance as promised. This exceptional generosity made me feel so fortunate to have a mom and pop business that not only makes fresh food, but is dedicated to providing incredible, out-of-this-world service. Thank you!

Feeling a little hungry so I dropped into this bakery. Lots of choices from buns containing pork, chicken, onion, etc., to cakes. The items are tasty! Service is excellent. Cash payment only. Many bakery bun items are $1.20 each. There are two small tables for seating if you stay to consume your purchase. Drinks like coffee, tea and juices are available.

Got the opportunity to try these patisseries during the holiday season, as I received them as a…read moregift. In the box was: White Chocolate Peach Mousse Fruit Tart Coconut Exotic Fruit Pistachio Mousse Raspberry Mousse Log Cake Aesthetically, all the pastries looked amazing! I felt bad cutting them to take a bite! My favourite is the Coconut Exotic Fruit. All the layers tied nicely together and tasted really good! The fruit tart was also good. Im not the biggest fan of peach but it was not bad as well. The Raspberry Mousse Cake was well balanced and not too sweet or tart. Sadly to say the Pistachio Mousse that was shaped as a cute Christmas tree was my least favourite. As this was a gift, I did not visit the location in person or know the price, but I do want to eat other selection of pastries and cakes if I get the chance!

I finally caved and tried the viral L.A. fruit pastries that have completely taken over my TikTok…read morefeed. And yes, the hype is real. My total for four stunning pastries came to $34.00, but I left feeling that the splurge was well worth it for the quality and complexity of the flavors. The selection inside was almost overwhelming... a sensory overload of vibrant colours, making me want to try absolutely everything!!!!! The Strawberry was the standout star, delivering a bright, nostalgic taste that was pure Strawberry Shortcake perfection. I was equally impressed with the richness of the Dark Chocolate Espresso pastry, a deep, satisfying choice. Despite being incredibly busy, the staff was very efficient with keeping the line moving quickly. While I noticed some seating, I was so focused on the sweet goodies that I barely registered the environment. I'm already planning my next trip! A crucial heads-up, however: the pastries I enjoyed all feature a light, airy mousse filling. If that texture or lightness isn't to your taste, you might want to skip

Their pink velvet cake is delicious. It's essentially a red velvet cake but instead of a chocolate…read morebase, it's made with a vanilla base. The cake was spongy, and the cream cheese frosting was spread evenly. However, I would have preferred if the frosting was less sweet although this wasn't a deal breaker for me and I would buy this cake again. The coffee is self-served in a corner of the store by the front door, but you pay at the register. There are also two chairs by the front window but the overall space in the bakery is quite small so I wouldn't imagine a lot of customers staying to enjoy their drinks and baked goods there. We also got a latte and they offered to add cinnamon on top which was a nice touch. We also got the ham and cheese croissant which was good, but I wouldn't say that it's the best croissant ever. I would want to try other bakery items and will definitely be returning soon!

The chocolate croissant was perfect, just like ones we've had in Paris and Napa. The muffins were very good, too. Took advantage of muffin & coffee special. Lemon bread and buttermilk scones were also top-notch. Highly recommended! The waitress was so nice answering our questions without being overbearing and giving us space to explore before ordering.
