Slightly crispy, not doughy. On the negative side one could hope for a more generous filling. Overall we found the pies a little dry. Will buy gravy next time. The beef sausage rolls were just bland tasting. Pastry was excellent though. Perhaps the pork would be a better choice? Despite our minor criticism we look forward to trying the other pies available.
