Re-visited Tea One Cafe and this time, my friend and I got the three croffle with an ice cream for dessert (5/5). The texture of the croffles had a crispiness on the outside which made this dessert delightful to take a bite into. We chose the Honeycomb, Tiramisu and White Chocolate Matcha. We thoroughly enjoyed each flavour but a personal favourite of mine would be the tiramisu. My friend's personal favourite was the honeycomb. We're both not into white chocolate but to our surprise, we enjoyed the White Chocolate Matcha flavour as well. The matcha's earthiness really complemented the touch of sweetness of the white chocolate. The cream on top of the croffle was also rich and smooth. The ice cream was a good addition. As mentioned in my previous review, the server was friendly and had a warm smile. The place encouraged people to connect with each other and I thought it was a cozy place to do just that. Cozy cafe that's a great spot for dates or hanging out with friends. There's some sitting area outside for bigger groups, and plenty of tables inside. The parking lot is shared with the other units. On weekends, you might have to park further but there's always some available. After going to Hey Noodles, I wanted something sweet. The cafe was packed on a Saturday afternoon. There were still a lot of pastry options to choose from, but limited flavors on cakes. I got a mochi cookie and a HK pastry that they heated up. Great atmosphere and friendly service! LONG VERSION: The greatest mystery to myself and my spouse is why it took so long for us to come to Tea One Bakery & Cafe. We pass by it at least once a week and have always had it in the back of our minds to stop in, but for some reason, I thought it was just another boba shop that was trying to add on a bakery to it. I should've read reviews sooner! This is a delightful HK Bakery & Cafe that really is no-fuss. It's unassuming, doesn't have that many ads, and feels like the best hidden gem (at least to us!) Service & Ambiance: I've only ever dined in here and not done takeout. It was a little bit confusing... am I to wait to be seated? Each time I've gone, it hasn't been too crowded, but I distinctly remember going Friday and Saturday mornings around 11am. Upon entering the very first time, we saw the bakery shelves and someone behind the counter asked if we were here to dine in or to go. Since we said "dine in", they just told us to go ahead and sit at any table and use the QR code to order. There's one bigger booth-type table in the back and many 2-seater tables scattered in the seating space. It's a nice modern aesthetic, but lots of wood accenting that makes it feel super cozy! Using the QR code is super simple and dishes come up as they're prepared. Something SUPER fun that we absolutely loved was that our bakery items (the breads/baos we ordered) came on on their own plates, with cutlery, and the plates were WARM because the pastries were warmed! We also ordered the earl grey basque cheesecake that came out last and we were so pleasantly surprised that this plate was COLD! The little details like that really made the experience feel next level. Honestly, we would've been happy to pay more than what they charge, especially for attention to detail like that! You pay at the front when you're ready to go :) I tried to give a large tip last time I went because I just loved feeling how much care went into their establishment, but they wouldn't accept it so I left a smaller tip and have many plans to keep going back! Food: we have ordered the following: - ham & corn bun (called something else on the menu...): the filling was quite nice! we were a little worried it'd just be toppings at on top of the bao, but there was actually quite a bit of topping! the bread quality was super reminiscent of really good bakeries - volcano cheese bun: this was incredibly fun to eat, especially because the plate was warmed when the bun came out! the cheesiness was amazing and perfectly salty for the sweetness of the bao. - korean beef sandwich: the bread that these sandwiches come on is _so_ pillowy soft. the balance of flavours & textures between the beef marinade (and chew of the beef), mayo, cheese, softness of the egg, crunch from the lettuce was incredible. It reminded me of the nostalgia i have for cold sandwiches that were sold in the chinese bakery that I would frequent growing up. - earl grey basque cheesecake: this was so incredible! we could smell the earl grey when bringing a bite to our mouths which really enhanced the whole experience. We'd just finished eating lunch nearby and were in the mood for a sweet treat, when Tea One Bakery & Cafe was suggested. I wasn't feeling super hungry, so we decided to share a slice of the Basque Cheesecake. It's a bit of a weird setup where they have the food right there but you have to go to a table and order using your phone. Anyway, the cheesecake was brought to our table a few minutes later and it's delicious. It's so creamy and rich, and the texture is just about perfect. I also appreciated that it wasn't too sweet, either. I am intrigued by some of the other offerings, so I'm sure we'll be returning sometime soon. read more

The matcha latte was on the milkier side so matcha wasn't as strong as it should be, thus the earthy matcha flavour was pretty much absent from the drink. The matcha latte rating for the matcha strength is a 4/10. Although the drink wasn't on par, I would say the Matcha basque style cheesecake was pretty good, which I do recommend. read more

Restaurant policies should be clear for all patrons of any establishment so that there is no misunderstanding between the owner/employees and the customers.  Although there was some signage with regards to washroom use, wifi, and credit card payments under $10 which, there was absolutely nothing about prohibiting Take-0ut customers from sitting briefly inside the café to eat their food/drinks.  We ordered about $25 worth of food, including drinks, and decided to sit for a moment before leaving.  About 10-12 minutes in, as we were finishing our cheesecake, one of the employees asked us to leave because "we had Take-Out cups, and there were two people waiting".  Let me preface this with the fact that there were other customers in the restaurant that were there much earlier than us, and still sitting.       Although we were a tad irritated by the suggested, we politely gathered out drinks and exited the premises.  After some thought, we felt that the restaurant was - in principle - in the wrong and decided to voice our disapproval.  The manager/owner said the following that were not made clear to us at the beginning of purchase, or any visible signage to stave off any confusion:   1. Dine in prices are different than Take-Out prices. 2. Take-Out customers cannot stay in the restaurant to eat their food/drinks.   If her arguments were in fact the restaurant's policy, I'm sure we would have respected their rules (even though we disagreed), and exited the premises.  Unfortunately, nothing was communicated at the onset; and instead of apologizing, or acknowledging their mistake, and making our first visit a welcoming one, we left with very unsatisfied experience.  It was their opportunity to welcome new customers in, but sadly, they missed it.      As a former business owner, it is imperative that we try and respect customers in order to build rapport and to establish a relationship that benefit both parties.  I would just like to say to the café and to its owner/manager/employees...you might want to try that again. read more

This one of my new go to cafés for dessert and coffee! It's tucked away in this unassuming plaza, but once you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and aesthetic environment. It's perfect for meeting up with friends to catch up or to study. All the staff there are very friendly and they have a wide selection of desserts, baked goods, coffee, and iced drinks! I got the hazelnut basque burnt cheesecake, as well as a croffle platter that came with three croffles of your choice, and ice cream. The croffles were warm and crunchy, and paired nicely with each flavour! We got the strawberry, matcha, and the dalgona one. My partner and I's favourite was the strawberry because it added a nice burst of freshness. We wished that the hazelnut flavour came through more in the cheesecake but it was still enjoyable overall. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu items! read more

A very solid and cute Asian style bakery in Mississauga. Staple baked Chinese bakery goods such as pineapple buns, BBQ pork buns, and cocktail buns, are all good choices. The curry beef bun, however was not great, so you have to figure out which buns and pastry items you like, and which ones you don't. Seasonal items that are made by external parties are also available through the bakery, but payment is not as convenient as cash is usually needed to pay for those items separately, which is a hassle when you can otherwise pay by card for Tea One's in house items. Third party items such as mooncake are only "ok". I had not tried Tea One's savoury food options, but look forward to trying them. read more

We LOVE this place! Everything we tried was delicious, especially the cheesecakes. They have a very good selection of cakes, bread and drinks at great prices. It's a relaxing and welcoming place to sit down with friends/ families. We took the Uber from the airport just to visit this place on a 5-hr flight layover. They did not disappoint. We are from Los Angeles but this place is better than any of the HK style cafes I have been to in LA. The owners were very friendly, too.
