Their pink velvet cake is delicious. It's essentially a red velvet cake but instead of a chocolate base, it's made with a vanilla base. The cake was spongy, and the cream cheese frosting was spread evenly. However, I would have preferred if the frosting was less sweet although this wasn't a deal breaker for me and I would buy this cake again. The coffee is self-served in a corner of the store by the front door, but you pay at the register. There are also two chairs by the front window but the overall space in the bakery is quite small so I wouldn't imagine a lot of customers staying to enjoy their drinks and baked goods there. We also got a latte and they offered to add cinnamon on top which was a nice touch. We also got the ham and cheese croissant which was good, but I wouldn't say that it's the best croissant ever. I would want to try other bakery items and will definitely be returning soon! read more

After stopping at Jack Lorne Park, we needed some warm coffee and breakfast before heading back to Michigan. WOW!! We hit the jackpot with this little cute French bakery. The chocolate croissant was perfect, just like ones we've had in Paris and Napa. The muffins were very good, too. Took advantage of muffin & coffee special. Lemon bread and buttermilk scones were also top-notch. Highly recommended! The waitress was so nice answering our questions without being overbearing and giving us space to explore before ordering. read more

We ordered a strawberry shortcake birthday cake for my FIL for his 60th birthday and it was absolutely delicious. The strawberries were juicy and delicious, there were layers of real whipped cream throughout with a succulent vanilla sponge cake and top had a crunchy merengue layer. Hubby had picked up the cake and there was a bit of a snafu with the staff trying to find it (we had called ahead a few days before to order) but it all ended up working out. He also grabbed a couple of croissants to go, one ham and cheese for him and a spinach and feta for me. We heated them up the next day and they were so good. Cute spot close to Jack Darling and Lorne Park library. Nice selection of cakes, pies, pastries, muffins and bars. There's something for everyone. Custard cream slice is the bomb. Lots of smooth creamy custard in it. Personally, I think it could do without the white sugar glaze on top. The pecan butter tart was marvelous. Very buttery and perfectly salty-sweet. The last piece we tried was the bread pudding. It's soft and milky, with a pleasant amount cinnamon spice. It's tasty cold though I prefer bread pudding warm. Maybe I will get it heated up next time. Went around 3pm and the croissants, except for plain, were all sold out. They take orders or you can call ahead. Will definitely stop in again and maybe try a cake for our next birthday event. read more

I definitely agree with the others in that this place has really good croissants but don't expect a quick trip. There's usually a wait (especially in COVID times where it's 3 people in the store at a time). It's a really cute shop and they have so many options, of which I've tried a few. I definitely recommend the brownies, fruit tarts, chocolate mousse, croissants, bread pudding, and cheddar scones. The quiche was good too but I probably wouldn't get it again. Can't really speak for the pies or cakes but I would assume they're pretty well done. The coffee isn't so good. I like this place a lot and the people are really friendly and pretty quick. I also really love the different mugs they have available. I kind of wish it was bigger though because I would love to sit down and enjoy the pastries. read more

Visiting from US we were looking for a bakery place to have sweets and coffee we end up finding this cute place family owned very friendly people and the stuff there looks so delicious. We ordered ham and cheese croissants and for sweets we ordered dates squares & my son had ice cream all so delicious and the coffee was excellent. I would really recommend this place. read more

Can't speak to other products as I've only ever bought 1 item from them, their signature Strawberry shortcake, which is as good as it gets outside of the Toronto core. If you're in the suburbs, you're limited by choice bakeries, but this shop is my go-to for birthday cake. read more

Located in the same plaza as Battaglia's, in the pretty neighbourhood of Lorne Park, is Le Delice Pastry Shop. Pastry Shop is accurate as you won't find hustle 'n bustle about the place on a Saturday morning, no hot table, or freshly baked breads. Most, if not all, of the items are behind glass in showcases. Although there were bagels and plain croissants in baskets, on the counter. I checked this place out based on John C's review of them having the "best croissants". Looking back, I wished that I had just gotten a plain croissant ($1.50ea) as opposed to a chocolate 'cause I only noticed the plain ones as I was being cashed out. I didn't want to sound like a pain 'cause my croissant was already in the paper bag! Not sure if this is entirely a fair assessment, but based on the chocolate croissant ($2.50), I definitely would NOT crown Le Delice as having the best croissants. Whole Foods has better ones. The plain one did look flakier, but again, this is just based on appearance. The Chocolate Croissant I had was in-between a pastry + a bread. So the pastry itself was waaay too heavy. It also lacked that buttery-ness that are inherent in all croissants, chocolate, plain, or other. Again, I wished that I had changed my order 'cause the plain ones looked lighter. I wouldn't be opposed to try something else the next time I'm in the area! read more

I have been a Le Delice customers for quite a few years. My complain is about being able to place an order for cakes that is not in their season rotation. The person who takes the call will say they do not do it but after you press you are directed to the owner's email to do a special order. I feel that they go out of their way to say no. I never tried the email because the French Corner had no problem taking my order. When you have a special occasion and a request has been made for a specific type cake you want a Bakery who can understand your needs and is responsive. I am rating this review as one star not for the quality but the lack of customer service. read more

This is a hidden little Jem in Lorne Park and I found it when attending one of the best Jewellers in the area (Lorne Park jewellery). The pastries are fresh and so delicious. Although I'm not a huge fan of their croissants (Patisserie D'Or in Oakville is the absolute best in my opinion!), Le Delice is my favourite spot for anything ELSE that's baked. I love this hidden gem in Clarkson! Croissants are to die for! I got the bf a ham and cheese, I ate a pear and Gruyere cheese croissants - I could easily gained 300 lbs just eating different kinds! I love eating their cookies, if you love macadamia nut - you will not be disappointed! Choc chip are delicious. Biscottis were ok - nice rich coffee chocolate flavour with cranberry and choc drizzle. Had been a customer for decades, but absolutely the worst service in the world. Preordered $90 cakes and they screwed up our order by giving us the wrong cake. But by the time we realized we had it at home and opened it up. The manager was beyond rude. Instead of apologizing she said she was coming to take the cakes back to give to someone else even though they were already open in our house. When we said that is against the health code, she threatened to phone the police. Then she drove to our home with a beat up looking cake in an open box and was filming us with her phone calling us racist when she is white and my children, right in front of her, are brown. The manager is completely out of her mind and unprofessional. I reported to police, health authority, and better business. If you got a strawberry shortcake from this bakery on this day it probably came from our house first, surrounded by our pets and children. read more

I cannot get enough of this bakery. First the chocolate cookies - greatest you'll ever had. It's quite the statement I know, but it's honestly better then grandmas. Second the scones - nom nom nom the cheddar and cheddar and bacon scones are so tasty. It's like breakfast at tiffany's in my mouth! Third the danishes - the cheesecake danishes keep up coming every Saturday( because we know that's when they have them :) ) whenever we can. It's truly my favourite bakery. read more

I love coming here for their bumbleberry pie. This pie is a hit for every pot luck I bring it to. You should always call ahead to reserve it. It is difficult to pick favourites here. Other pies are delicious. Their cakes are also great - not too sweet. And my other favourite thing to get is quiche and their lemon tart. read more

Tiny pastry shop hidden in Clarkson that has amazing pastries and cakes! Their croissants are my favourite - both their savoury ones (like blue cheese & bacon) as well as their sweet ones (like chocolate, pecan/apple, almond) are delicious! They change up their 'croissant of the day' and usually have a really interesting option every time I go. It's mostly a take-out place with only a small seating area by the window and one table out front if the weather is warm.
