The food is clean . The food is well cooked . The restaurant is cool and calm . I ate here couple of times now. I always order the shrimp with vegetables and upgrade the rice to fried rice and I add a bottle of cola. Comes out to nearly $20 every time. It Includes an egg roll and a soup . It is walking distance from the truck stops next door. You can order online .

    Spicy Orange Chicken

The food here was cooked to perfection. Orange chicken was so juicy, saucy, and crispy. The taste and texture was out of this world. Cream cheese Rangoon's were super tasty as well. 10/10 food. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

First of all, this Chinese place is right next to Love's truck stop which was a super plus! We still parked our huge semi in their parking lot. Hesitant to try because of the reviews, I was craving Chinese on this Valentine's Day so I figured that's why the parking lot was a little empty. Ordered House Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, Fried Chicken, Chicken on a stick, Fried Dumplings, Mixed Veggies with White Rice, and Hunan Beef with White Rice. Everything was cooked fresh, veggies fresh, not over cooked like most Chinese places. Sauce was perfection, no need to add soy sauce or any extra sauces except chili oil for spice. The Chicken on a stick was rather skimpy though. Other than that, all portions were huge!

Do NOT order chicken wings from this place. They are frozen, breaded, party wings out of a freezer bag! Never in my 50 years of eating Chinese chicken wings have i experienced some ish like this! VERY DISAPPOINTED

Well we r back in town. Got some truck repairs now here to eat. Then we will head to Pittsburg. I wanted to try something else beside general tsao so I'm trying orange chicken dinner today. It comes with soup, egg roll and rice with dish. It was really good. A bit sweet tho. Had lots of peppers and orange rind. My pix below of the Carnage of peppers and rind! Bf had Kung pao chicken dinner with hot n sour soup. He truly enjoyed his. Till next time. Always nice to know our Bobtail fits in parking lot!

We picked up food from this restaurant last night. The restaurant is located next to the Love's gas station and Wendy's on Harrisburg Pike. We ordered two dinner combinations of general tso chicken and shrimp fried rice. We enjoyed the chicken and the rice, but I liked the fried rice a lot more as I found the chicken to be a bit hard and have too much breading. The total came to $34. We had enough food for two day's worth of meals, so we felt that the price was justified. We're still missing some of our Chinese takeout options from Maryland, but we're happy to have found a decent American Chinese food restaurant near our new home.

My family and I had a good overall dining experience at Happy Chen. The servings were generous and used fresh ingredients.

This evening we went to another location but were so put off by the hole-in-the-wall appearance and the unfriendly person behind the Plexiglas window -- not to mention the circle what you want on the menu and slide it underneath to her -- that we went to Great Wall which we intended to be the second restaurant we tried. Anyway, the wait was about 20 minutes from when we placed our order and we got take-out orders of Hong Kong Chicken and "kum po" which is what's on the menu. These were both combination meals that included pork egg rolls and pork friend rice. We had no complaints about the food -- it was hot and tasted great. I thought it was more oily than most Chinese food but otherwise fine. I had also requested the Kung Pao be extra-extra spicy but there was very little heat. The Hong King Chicken had pineapple, peppers, onions, broccoli and chillies in a ginger sauce and was great. I ate my entire meal; my other half was stuffed after eating half. Good food, reasonable price, reasonably quick service, and we really appreciated how friendly the person was at the counter -- she waved and welcomed us in when we arrived -- versus the grumpy looking person who ignored us at the other place.

So after all these years I finally came back to Carlisle just so I could have that dish again. Total came out to approximately $43 (not including tip). What's hot - Menu. Pretty good. There's something for everyone, possibly even vegans. I'm uncertain whether they have vegetable broth, but they have options that are vegetarian. There's pho, ramen, rice, curry, meats, and tofu. - Quality. Pretty good. The chicken karage was not overly breaded, crispy, had a nice flavor. Lt was not overly salty and served warm. My tofu miso ramen was not overly seasoned, which I appreciate. One of my pet peeves is when noodle soups are too salty, because it detracts from what the natural flavor should be. My miso ramen had a nice seasoning. My husband really enjoyed his red curry. He said it had a slight kick of spiciness with a slight taste of sweetness from the coconut milk. - Portions. Pretty decent size portions to get you full, not stuffed. Good value for money. - Location. Centrally located in downtown around other shops and restaurants. What's not - Service. Among the 4 in our group, 3 of us had something wrong with our orders. My ramen arrived with no tofu. When our friends received their orders, it was completely wrong (I.e., they were given someone else's order). There were also mistakes in the dishes they actually ordered. Given all the errors, everything was delayed and took longer, which was frustrating. - Payment. You're expected to pay your tab before actual service, which includes tips, as well. Hubby and I aren't fans of that, especially given all the mistakes that our group encountered. - Parking. Since it's downtown, it's mostly timed and metered parking in the area. - Time. They close at 8pm. Our group was the last ones in the restaurant, which surprised us. As such, I asked their staff what time they close. When they responded 8pm, I asked them if our group should leave. The staffers told me that my group was ok, which we appreciated. However, we didn't stick around. Just be prepared that this is not a place you can continue to hang out in. Final answer Willing to return, but not a first choice.

Issei Noodle - The restaurant is small with some communal tables. Parking in downtown Carlisle can be challenging. Be sure to check the hours.
