I stopped by this place on a Sunday afternoon. I'd just dropped off a U-Haul down the street, which I'd towed for the last 8 hours. Hungry, I thought maybe something other than the local chain fast food restaurants sounded pretty good. I walked in and was quickly greeted with a friendly smile from a young hostess. She asked me if I'd like to sit at a table, the booth, or the bar. Since it was just me, I said the bar would be fine, but excused myself to use the restroom to wash my hands before sitting down. I went back to the restroom, turned on the light and closed to door and I was immediately punched in the nose by the oder of the room. I wasn't the only one to notice the source, a family of flies buzzed the toilet in a frenzy so loud you could hear them. I still needed to wash my hands and I figured surely the tap water would be clean. I never found out. Next to the faucet was a small plastic cup, half full with what I could only assume was dish detergent and vinegar, a common fly trap. I say that because the entire bottom of the plastic cup was covered with dead flies. I walked out of the restroom and stopped at the bar, where the hostess was patiently waiting. I informed her of the flies and she immediately said she'd have someone have a look at it. Maybe to freshen the fly trap? I'm not sure, I left without ordering. read more

Fresh Guacamole Is excellent. We had steak in a salad and a chicken salad. They both were very good. The meat was excellently flavored. The waitress prepared our takeout very quickly. read more

Stayed in RV park next door. Very clean with nice decor. Extensive menu. Also Steak dinners, and sandwiches plus full service bar. Fresh guacamole but a little under spiced for me. No charge for extra sauce and corn chips. Had menu $7.99 dinner. Was excellent. Worth the stop for sure. read more

Overnighting north of Wytheville VA; looked for a local restaurant (options very limited) and so came here. Surprisingly good food! Located on east side of I-81 in small shopping center. Don't let the outside fool you. Service was very good and the flavors excellent. Portion size very good. Beer selection limited but at least it's available! I'd come back.... read more

We drove through here on our way home to Charleston from Pennsylvania, and we couldn't find anything other than Arby's, McDonald's, Subway, and the like. I convinced my mom and grandma to give it a try and they were skeptical given that the place is in a tacky looking strip mall. I am of the mind, however, that the sketchiest looking Mexican restaurants are ALWAYS the best. And I proved it to them! This place was delicious! They even had my favorite dish (huevos con chorizo) on the menu, which is something that I normally just have to order informally. The salsa had a nice spice and did not taste like straight tomato paste. The guacamole was velvety and delicious. My mom and grandma loved their food as well, and the sweet tea even impressed our southern taste buds. It was very clean and our waiter was so sweet. Definitely stop to eat here instead of McDonald's!!! read more

Yummy food! Been there several times and the food has always been good. If you aren't careful, you will definitely eat too much of the yummy chips and salsa! My husband and I usually get the "special dinner" which is a lot of food for a good price. The leftovers last us atleast another meal or two! read more

The food here was delicious but the service was terrible. We didn't get any silverware until the meal was served. We ordered our drinks and after they were delivered was told they had to go back and get the limes... 10 minutes later and after my husband went to get them we had limes. Fajitas came out with the fixens... was told the cook had to make the salad, rice and beans... taco and pico came out and still no fixens to the fajitas. Had to ask a different waiter who brought out everything that was needed including the guacamole that should have been an appetizer. It was guacamole dip and not the fresh guacamole. The male waiter that pull through was very nice and made everything right from there on out. Also, no one ever check to see if we needed refills, napkins, or anything. read more

The food quality and quantity was good however I never liked being served with a 400 degree frying pan at the table. The fajita was already cooked. More heat would have made it inedible. Service was very slow.... in Mexico the service is usually slower. Maybe they are trying to be more authentic. A big plus however was they are one of the few Mexican restaurants that have hot tea. We were traveling and staying at the hotel across the parking lot. For about $5. takeout, we enjoyed enchilada, rice, beans and fresh tortilla chips. The service was so fast...probably 2-3 minutes before they brought us our order. Colorful seating area and restaurant decorations. read more

Very colourful Mexican decor. Most welcoming by owners and staff. Food & service was excellent & prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend this restaurant if in the area. My wife & I are not afficiondos of Mexican food as it is too spicy for us but they had an excellent choice of American cuisine. Don't be scared off by the rundown strip mall location. Stopped on the way from Hilton Head Island back to Cincinnati and it was in walking distance from our hotel. Portions were generous and prices were more than fair. Tons of shredded chicken in the taco salads, good grilled chicken with spicy Chipotle sauce, etc. read more

This is really great find! The food was great as was the service. Our server was very friendly, prompt, and polite. The salsa was great -- really spicy -- lots of warm chips. I had enchiladas Suiza - it was almost more food than I could eat, but very tasty. My son had the Cinco de Mayo special and couldn't eat it all even though it was excellent. Not many eating places here to choose from. Hotel clerk suggested this. Not impressed. My taco salad came in a nice shell bowl, but the bottom was all soggy from the meat juices and bowl was soggy as well. Hubby had chicken fajitas salad..served plain, had to ask for sour cream and salsa. Tv was very loud and on a Spanish channel. Would not go here again. read more

I had to pull a waiter aside in order to get someone to take my order and it took about 5 more minutes for them to bring my drinks. I'm very disappointed in the negative reviews posted here. Our experience was wonderful. We went on a Tuesday evening while going through this little city on our way back home to Ohio from Florida. We were camping across the street and this restaurant was highly recommended by the owners in the office of the campground. There were adamant that we only order Mexican food if we wanted a good experience. We did. My husband ordered a HUGE burrito, the first on the list under the Burritos listings and I had the 2 Chimichangas (deep fried burritos) with fajita steak. The cheese sauce on both of our dishes was so very good! We both had the beans and rice as sides on our plate. I also had a good sized amount of lettuce and diced tomatoes on the side. The waiter was extremely attentive, and friendly. Our food was served timely and hot! Everything was AWESOME! Please give this place a chance. They are located in a very small strip center and not much to look at from their exterior location, BUT once you get inside, you feel quite comfy and welcomed. Full service bar as well. We will certainly eat here again when we travel back through!! 5 Stars for Sure!! read more
