This was my first visit to this super cute spot. The folks working were super friendly. I loved all the local goods and extra snacks available for purchase. The seating area was great. I almost ordered a taro bubble tea but was explaining an ube foam matcha that i love from a shop back home and they were like we can do that with the taro! I got my drink 50% sweet (a must!) and with oat milk and it was super delish. My friend and i also shared the raspberry hibiscus cruffin and it was super tasty. An unassuming cafe in UP near the library and Whole Foods. They have ample seating indoors and a few tables outside, as well as free wifi. You order at the counter. Out of the times I have visited, they have always been out of stock with something or another. Most recently it was the breakfast sandwiches. Drinks here are above average. I really enjoy their lattes and their chai is good as well. I got their lavender hot cocoa and it was like a hug for my stomach! They offer stamp cards for returning customers. Coffee was good but one of the employees was having a bad day and was very rude. My wife ordered a coffee with a few shots, a pump of mocha and cinnamon powder. I ordered a cold mocha. They didn't have any half and half out for my wife's coffee. So my wife asked the barista for some. She rudely replied we don't put half and half out this time of day, bc people usually don't order coffee this late in the day. (Is this a coffee shop?) She did get the half and half and told my wife next time she is going to charge her for a latte. I thought to myself "what a jerk." She's going to charge for a little half and half? Located next door to the public library. Street parking is metered but parking garage is free. This place is HUGE! You walk inside and it is a huge store with items for purchase and the counter at the end where you place your order. To the right is the dining area and there are plenty of spots to relax, visit with friends, and enjoy your coffee. I ordered the pistachio latte and a raspberry pull apart donut. Both were delicious but I wished they had steamed the milk HOTTER (it was luke warm). I got a punch card and after 8 drinks the 9th is free. The atmosphere is very calming. I went during a week day around 12:30pm and there were a couple study groups scattered around but overall it was quiet and inviting. I got the pistachio latte which was soooooo good! I absolutely loved it! I felt that the employees could have been more friendly/engaging with customers. I had never been in before and wanted to ask about the menu and the employees just wanted to talk amongst each other. I stayed for about an hour enjoying my coffee and needed to use the restroom. It's a rather large coffee shop so I figured they would have a restroom with stalls so multiple people could use it but it's only a single toilet and the door requires a code. Every time I tried to use the restroom, someone was in there. So I stayed an extra 20 ish minutes waiting to use the restroom. I would definitely go back though. read more

The coffee is fantastic! If you want a grade A latte, this is the place. Those working at the front were a bit unwelcoming/unfriendly. The store is nearly empty and I am the only one in line. I went on a Saturday late morning and it was busy. Took a while to get my order in. There was quite a wait for my food and drinks as well after I ordered which bummed me out because I had limited time to do my work and it took time away from that. The food and drinks were good. I would come again but would try earlier. Has wifi and many outlets to connect for power which amazed me and thus I would come again for accessability and meeting my working needs. I had an early morning appointment out in University Place and was in such need for coffee! Decided on the Happy Duo Cafe and it was such a warm place. The lobby had cute decor with chic furniture and all these plants around the place. I spoke with the barista who let me know that they have an ongoing list that the regulars actually ask to reserve tables for social or work related needs, which I thought was unique for a coffee cafe! I went with my usual dirty chai (when im super tired !) and it was delicious. The coffee place is located within the University Place Town Center so there are two entrances you can utilize. Plenty of parking street side on Market Place or you can park below in the garage for free it seems. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Super cute coffee shop with super cute trinkets, lots of plants and art. Very pretty! I had ordered a vanilla chai, the staff is used to this translating to a spiced chai with vanilla in it. My 5 year old taste buds did not agree with that and they very kindly remade my powdered vanilla chai, which I am so grateful for. They also have a lavender latte I can't wait to try! read more

This is our go to coffee shop whenever we go to WholeFoods. We always get the pistachio latte. The service is fantastic and the server is alway very helpful. Absolutely adore this cafe. My partner and I frequently visit, whether to for a quick pick me up or to hang out and do remote work. We have only tried their coffee based drinks, but they are always very good. I appreciate that they offer many sugar free syrups as well as some gluten free food options. I really enjoyed my quick stop at Happy Duo Cafe for a mid morning coffee. I ordered a 12 oz pumpkin spice latte and a 12 oz vanilla latte for my husband. I received very nice customer service with the barista who helped me and the drinks came out in a timely manner. There was various pastries, snacks and local art, etc for sale as well. There was a previous coffee shop in this space before and glad a new one took it's place. Decor hasn't changed too much other than the small gift section at the front door which makes the place all the more inviting. Staff was very friendly and I placed an order for a pistachio latte. It proved to be very good! Love pistachio flavor! I also go a Morning Glory muffin which I've been enjoying all weekend long with one being here and at another coffee shop the day before. Lots of seating and we sat up against one of the big windows to look out while enjoying our food and drinks. Very pleasant stop and planning in the very near future to return here! read more

8-10 month update: It is disappointing to have to witness and experience that the coffee in this establishment is heading down hill. The baristas before, were top notch and so great. Great customer service, efficient, and knew how to do their jobs. Now seeing some new faces behind the counter, the coffee isn't coffee-ing. Like sis, it's not just the taste. It's when I order Oatmilk, it is straight up milk. And please do a read back like how the baristas before used to do it so that there is confirmation of the accuracy of the order... 3rd consecutive weekend, where all pastries are gone early in the day. The young staff need adult supervision, too. They're nice but let business pass them by; the guy after me wanted a Bubble tea, and was told, on a Sunday "We only do those on weekends." When he clarified that Sunday IS part of the weekend, the young woman said "Oh, I mean Friday and Sat." Then another man came in and asked if they did smoothies; rather than saying "no but we have many other options" that young woman just said "No." and let him leave. I also used my full Happy Duo card for a free drink, asked for a new card but never got one. Things seem to be unraveling since the owner is not there on weekends, and the other adult who used to work weekends is gone. Sorry to see this happening. read more

I cannot stress enough how great this place is. The staff is fabulous, the decor is visually appealing and also relaxing but I also feel energized while I'm there. Always good beverages. I've not had any of the pastry options as I'm not really a pastry eater but they always are pretty tempting. This venue has been a few different businesses (Frog and Kiwi was just ahead of it's time for this spot and the timing was bad for them, Anthem just was... Anthem) and this one by far is the absolute best. I inadvertently came on their first week open and as time has gone on, they've only gotten more and more patrons. Love to see it. read more
