After only one visit, this has already become one of my FAVORITE coffee shops in the Tacoma area! It has such a warm, welcoming (all-PINK!!) interior with the cutest decor. Not to mention, they sell adorable locally made products--the proceeds from which go towards local LGBTQ+ support groups. Their coffee also is absolutely amazing. I was excited to try this café cause I've seen it on social media and wanted to support a woman owned local business, but unfortunately, the coffee did not meet my expectations. The espresso tasted quite bitter and my drink wasn't good. When I arrived, the barista, who I believe may have been the owner, was sitting at one of the tables talking with a friend. After I walked up to the counter, it took about two minutes for her to come over and take my order, as there was no other barista working. On a positive note, the café itself is very cute and aesthetically decorated. I especially loved the inspirational quotes displayed on the tables. They also had a shelf featuring crafts made by a local artist, which I thought was a wonderful way to support the community. Overall, the space was charming, but the coffee and service could use some improvement. read more

This is a great coffee shop! I have been in this space more than once with previous incarnations of coffee shops but Luv-a-Latte is by far the funnest coffee shop to land here that I've seen! The atmosphere is a lot of fun with it's pink hued lights and walls and all of the fun art. I saw some dragons that looked for sale here. I think they were porcelain or at least looked like it and were super cute. But I resisted. I got the Anti-B*tch Cold Brew. Man, this is a sting cold brew coffee blend that feels like jet fuel more than anything. It was intense but I liked it a lot! Steve got something sweeter and that was good too. I think it was a banana type coffee drink. We got a pastry from the case and that was good too. Really a fun coffee shop and definitely worth returning to! read more

Had a girl date with my daughter and stopped by Luv-a-Latte! All things pink, all things cultured, all things girly! We were in heaven! Drinks were delicious! BLT was delicious! Staff was great! Shop is small but comfortable. There are some bar stools and I think maybe 2 tables! Aesthetically pleasing and great for some cute photos! No drive thru but that's what makes this shop great! Slow down, get cute and take some time to enjoy the moment!! read more

I have been following this awesome black woman owned coffee shop on Instagram (luv.a.latte.espresso) for some time now, and drive by when I'm in that neighborhood to see if we can pop in. This morning we are able to finally make it there, and I feel the need to review on Yelp because somehow this spot has gone unnoticed so far! They had a grand re-opening January 2023 (formerly hilltop coffee bar) and you all should stop in.. My daughter had a hot cocoa & a chocolate muffin, and I had The Pynk white coffee drink which was such a treat, it tastes like captain crunch cereal!! and I had an everything bagel breakfast sandwich, made to order. Yum. The shop is adorable, with tons of eye candy, fun drink specials, cute cookies and more. Also, I used my card and it was run before I remembered to order my daughter's muffin, and she gifted it, no charge. I know we'll be back to take care of it, but I thought that was super sweet of her to give it to us.. Can't wait to try more treats.. across from Bates Technical College, downtown Tacoma location. it's been surprisingly hard to find a new fav local coffee shop since moving from la but this might be it! i got a blended brown babe mocha and the kick of cinnamon was soooo yummy + a fair price for the size. love the pink lighting and social atmosphere. easy parking in adjacent streets. read more

I pass this shop every time I head home from my gym and I've been wanting to try it, but it just seems my lifting schedule doesn't match the open hours. Today, it finally lined up and I'm so glad I tried this place! The atmosphere is adorable and unique! I got the Bad Bunny Chai and it's the best chai that I've ever had (I'm a connoisseur of chai). Not only was my drink amazing but the price is extremely fair, especially for a small business! I'll be back for sure. read more

This place is hit or miss depending on the day you go. On saturdays, whoever works that shift is always frazzled and all over the place. One time I went, she made a mess of the milk and had to start over. Another time I went, it took over 7 minutes to make a simple latte. Barista just seems overwhelmed when there's more than one customer at a time. All other days of the week, service is friendly and quick. I've ordered from this place three times. Every time, she's taken my money. I walk/drive over after waiting the time the confirmation email and text and I get. And she's CLOSED. Three times this has happened. I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I'm not going to create an instagram to check a business' hours. Update your website, update your search services. Stop taking my money when you're closed and making me waste my time having to email and dm you on different services to get a refund.
