This is a mid-sized boba tea shop that also sells waffles and mochi donuts! Their drink menu is huge-- with awesome customization options that include having no ice in your drink (a $.75 charge), and they sell a 24 oz size. The mochi donut flavors that I saw were : funnel cake, churro, taro, cookie butter, and coconut fudge. You can order using the self service kiosk and use Apple pay, which I prefer to do. Menu prices are about the same on DoorDash, which is great considering there are sometimes huge markups to balance out their fees. (Cost): $4.85 + tip (Location): It is in a very busy shopping area near Trader Joe's and Safeway. There is plenty of parking, but the area gets extremely packed, I prefer to park a bit away and then walk there. The area is very nice-- I would describe it has middle class to upper middle class. I love how beautifully decorated this shop is. Seating consists of a medium size couch, two benches, some seating by the widow l, and a table with 3 chairs. (Service): Excellent! Despite being busy working on items, the employee greeted me as I entered and was very polite when he gave me my order. What I didn't like was how rude one of the delivery drivers was. He greeted them and they simply shove their phones in his face without saying anything after yelling for him to come from the back. Nothing that had me in awe as much as the decorations here. Service was okay. They were nice, but when asked questions about orders, they would just shrug. I'm on vacation in Washington visiting family and friends and my best friend and I planned to meet at our favorite bar in University Place but she got held up at work an extra hour so I had to figure out somewhere nearby to go in the meantime. I just happened to drive by Trader Joe's and noticed a sign that said "TOMO Tea House" which must be somewhat new as I had never seen it before when I lived in Washington a couple years ago. I decided to check it out. They have dubai chocolate strawberries which I love but of course they're very expensive (like $15 for a cup) and I wasn't willing to pay that much for just one item here today. I ended up going with a couple mochi donuts and a latte instead which came out to about the same price as the one cup of Dubai strawberries would have. I got the rose latte hot and with almond milk and chose the cinnamon bun and banana donuts. The rose latte is very good. It has a beautiful floral flavor but isn't overly perfume-y like some floral flavored drinks are. The cinnamon bun donut is very delicious! It's exactly what I expected. The banana one is tasty but is very lightly flavored compared to the cinnamon bun one. Right after I ordered, a teenage couple came in and ordered a dubai strawberry cup and the boyfriend of the couple asked if they could do a banana dubai cup for him which they were able to do and OMG- I should have done that!! It looked absolutely divine and now I wish I came in and ordered just a couple moments later than I did so I could be behind and say "I'll take what he had!" I don't even care if I sound biased because I LOVE kanaf... but this place just did something to me The Dubai cruffle??? Yeah... I get the hype now. It was insanely soft, like melt-in-your-mouth type soft, and the strawberries came in clutch with that fresh balance. Nothing was overly sweet or heavy -- everything just worked together perfectly. Only tiny note: I lowkey wish the chocolate and whipped cream came on the side because if you're a slow eater (me ) it can get a little soggy. I got the brown sugar boba with crème brûlée and my friend got the matcha strawberry with their strawberry jam -- and when I say I almost stole his drink... Important detail: they let you choose your sweetness level for the matcha + strawberry jam drink (which I loved because you can really customize it). 75% = perfect balance 50-75% = safe zone 25-50% = if you don't like much sweetness (I wouldn't go lower tbh) BUT for the brown sugar crème brûlée -- you don't pick a sweetness level, and honestly it doesn't even need it. It already hits exactly how it should. We got 2 Dubai cruffles and 2 (16oz) drinks for about $40 and I'm telling you right now... worth every single cent. I never understood why people get attached to boba spots or cafés like that... until now. Came for a yelp event, ordered 4 mochi donuts, a Thai tea, and mango green tea. The inside of this shop is adorable with lots of photo ops! There are two kiosks to order from or they also have very knowledgeable and helpful staff available to answer questions and place your order as well. So I had the previous location bookmarked and then saw they changed to Tomo Tea House so they were on my bookmarks for quite some time! However, I had the honor of being selected as a Yelp Elite to get a free mochi donut and drink here and when I saw they were also dog friendly, I was super excited to stop by! We arrived on a Saturday later in the afternoon and it was really busy but we were able to find parking as they share parking with several other businesses. We entered and we were welcomed warmly by staff and our dogs were also welcomed and given whipped cream cups. The interior is perfect for photo ops or selfies, we took several pictures of our dogs! There are tables and chairs inside and outside which was nice. I loved how comfortable the seats and couch were. I also saw they had some games that you can play such as Uno, Jenga, and more! There is also a self-order kiosk near the order area which is great for introverts like me but the staff was so friendly that I felt comfortable ordering from them. As I was staring at their menu on a screen, the cashier kindly let me know that they have a menu at the register as well as a menu to glance at which I appreciate as I didn't bring my glasses. Their menu is pretty extensive but not overwhelming and they had a showcase of their current flavors of mochi donuts on a display. After much careful consideration, I was ready to order and when I brought wanting the pandan milk tea, a different employee mentioned that it is very sweet and that they can't really adjust the sweetness on that and offered to give me a sample to see if I'd like it or not. I appreciated that greatly as I'm not into overly sweet drinks but it was the perfect amount of sweetness. We ended up with the wintermelon milk tea, pandan milk tea, and dirt cup mochi donut. Once we got our drinks, I was very pleased with the ice ratio as other places just add way too much ice and there isn't much to drink. However, the ice was just the right amount and the drink was very refreshing and the sweetness was perfect on both our drinks. We also really enjoyed the dirt cup mochi donut, it felt like we were eating a chewy dirt cup. Cute little boba/dessert spot tucked away in a busy grocery hub. It recently took over from another similar concept, "Bober" and rebranded to Tomo. They have both a kiosk and person at the register to take your order. I have visited at least three times since they've been open. I purchased their mochi donuts for a Halloween potluck and received a lot of compliments on how delicious they were. I have also tried their drinks here too. They have my husband's favorite drink, mango sago. Most recently, I came in to try the viral "Dubai" chocolate offered at this location, Dubai cover strawberries. I'm obsessed! I inhaled it on the ride 10 min ride home and was done before we pulled into the driveway. $15 well spent. Definitely worth the trip if you are in the area and craving a sweet treat. read more

Again, mostly ordering those delicious Mochi Donuts as the priority and a drink. I finally came back in the shop on Sunday, 10/28 and got to try their Mochi Pandan Waffle. Oh my goodness! It was delicious. They do have to make them for you, so the wait can be about 10 minutes. I appreciate that it's made-to-order! I took the remaining slices home for my husband and he is in love! I also purchased a box of 3 Mochi Donuts, but clearly, husband thinks the Pandan Waffles stole the show. I also got myself a Surprise Cup, and I scored the Kuromi toy I wanted! What luck! I want to give a shout out to Emily, who was so helpful and kind. She was the only one working that morning when it was super busy but she was so personable. I was heading to Mudbay and saw this place while I was parking so I decided to give it a try! They were having network issues so they couldn't use their POS and customers had to order via the tablet. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba, regular ice and sweet cream. I also got a churro mochi donut. I didn't really like either of the items. The brown sugar milk tea wasn't bad but I felt that it completely lacked the brown sugar flavor. I liked that they added a decent amount of boba and it looked really pretty. The mochi donut was cold, dry and just disappointing. I go to milkvue in gig harbor all the time and LOVE their mochi donuts bc they are always soft and the perfect amount of chewy. This experience was less than desirable. Service: Understaffed, with too many customers and not enough workers. This is not the workers fault at all, but the wait time for most people who came before or after us was about 23-27 minutes. We waited about 25 minutes until getting three drinks which came after the orders of large groups who ordered after us. We also had to wait again to ask for a drink carrier. The shop has an okay food rating, and through the kitchen window you can see workers drink their own personal drinks while making customer orders, which doesn't help it feel any better. Putting this aside we tried to enjoy the three drinks we had. Brown sugar milk does NOT come with boba already, which is an odd choice when compared to other local shops, and the boba tasted more like honey soaked rather than brown sugar. Strawberry matcha drink was artificial tasting while matcha felt watered down. Ice melts quickly even in cold weather suggesting poor ice storage. Pros: Mango drink was decent! It was also a bit over sweet and artificial tasting but it was the best drink from the trio. The interior still has the old Bober Boba decor scattered around so it is still decorated. But not much. If you are in UP, I would recommend trying local shops or chains in Tacoma. read more

The tea wasn't bad, unfortunately, they only offer kids sizes for the signature drinks. I didn't know that from the electronic kiosk that I was forced to use.
