Padmasambhava Meditation Center (PMC) is a place for the study and practice of meditation in the…read moreNyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The center is named after Padmasambhava (tr. lotus-born), also known as Guru Rinpoche (tr. precious teacher), who was a great Indian Buddhist master and saint. Guru Rinpoche's activities enabled Vajrayana Buddhism to take a firm hold in Tibet. When practiced with devotion, compassion, and diligence, under the guidance of a qualified teacher, the teachings can be effective in awakening one's true nature. One can receive instruction here on how to practice meditation, either with the guidance of a qualified teacher, or by oneself on specific days and times. The staff/community, or sangha, and a supportive environment can encourage developing one's meditation practice. There are opportunities to listen to teachings with many Buddhist teachers in a specific lineage, study Tibetan Buddhist texts, learn preliminary practices, and participate in various ritual ceremonies. The goal of these programs is teach one to practice wisdom and compassion into one's life. On top of live teachings (which occur Thursdays for members), there are also sometimes streaming teachings that are recorded and available to the public to listen to at home - there is one up right now about Introduction to Meditation, from Sept 27th. Every Sunday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the center is open for all to come and do his or her own practice. On special days throughout the year, the sangha gathers to make feast offerings and practice meditation together. PMC's large and spacious meditation room has the capacity to welcome up to 450 people. The basement floor features a large dining hall, a large residential kitchen, and a library. A parking lot adjacent to the building offers ample space to park. There is a small shop near the entryway where one can purchase items to support practice, such as thangkha paintings, ritual implements such as incense, malas (prayer beads), prayer flags, bells, drums and books. The center is wheelchair accessible from the main entrance via a service elevator. Meditation cushions and chairs are provided in the main shrine room; but attendees are welcome to bring their own cushions if they wish. I have only been in here briefly, but it seems very well kept and like a positive place to visit if one wishes to learn to meditate or listen to teachings -- the little store is also very cool. :)

The center is easily accessible to those new to Buddhism or Meditation, with instruction available from qualified teachers in a setting that is separate from the main sitting room, so you don't feel intimidated by all those people in robes. Show up a little early so they know you need the lesson. Regular sittings, often twice a day. Regular talks and retreats. Nice folks. Check the calendar: http://www.zencenterofdenver.org/Calendar/ or the website for more info: http://www.zencenterofdenver.org/ For those more familiar with Zen practice, the ZCD leans a little to the Rinzai side, lineage is Robert Aitken Roshi's Diamond Sangha.

All of the beginner students were welcomed upon arrival and we were given basic instructions prior to the meditation session starting. I felt comfortable and prepared based on the instructions offered. The group was a mix of visitors and regular members and followed the structure of 25 minutes seated meditation, 5 minutes of walking meditation, a second 25 minute seated meditation and second 5 minute walking meditation. Following the meditation, the primary teacher and two group leaders offered basic insights on buddhism, the zen tradition and their group. They also invited us to become a regular member of their community, which was nice. While I am a fairly seasoned meditation practitioner, I appreciated the guidance and basic understanding of a practice that I am less familiar with, and I would recommend the beginner night event to anyone new to meditation, or interested in exploring the zen tradition.

Immediately after a session I'm in a much calmer state and this is with me entering in at a high level of panic & despair. Later into the evening I notice more improvement and by the following day my mental and spiritual state resumes to an even higher level of functioning than my normal. At first I wasn't sure if hypnosis would work especially when instructed to visualize because imagery is not a strong point of mine but each time I've been pleasantly impressed at how I enter a deep state of relaxation so much so that my head falls and a couple times I woke myself up snoring. I've also had a handful of sessions with Halen the hands on energy healer at Inner Soundness and strongly recommend her services as well. These two ladies I'll forever be grateful for, they were able to rapidly pull me out of some really dark times and I appreciate how they've been able to fit me in for short notice appointments. Although I now live overseas, I'm relieved to know I can still utilize their services via virtual appointment. Melove and Halen are the real deal! If you're looking for rapid relief therapy or a means for self improvement I highly recommend booking a consult at Inner Soundness **MANY** thanks for all yalls help!!

I am someone who is very self aware and has tried many healing modalities, but this has worked on me in a way others have not before. I've had a lot of challenges come up recently, and I have been able to shift my mind to a more productive mentality with minimal effort. I can't wait to see what the future has in store! Melove is an absolutely joy to work with. I immediately felt comfortable in her presence, which is saying something because I am no stranger to social anxiety! In hypnosis, I was able to achieve a state of peace and relaxation I have never felt to that degree. She is a natural at this.. this is her gift that she has lovingly developed to help others. I am already thankful for everything she's helped me accomplish, and I look forward to continuing to work with her.

Jonathan Ellerby built that Spiritual Center to an amazing place of healing and love over a [period…read moreof over 6 years because that is what he was. Rev. Christina Jones has completely destroyed that in a few short months. It transcends being a complete tragedy landing as a spiritual sacrilege. More so her entire board agrees with her threatening behavior. I went to drop off some warm clothes for a homeless man and found the doors unlocked and no one there. I have helped cook lunch and done other volunteer work there for over three years. I called the people who were in charge, and they were too busy to deal with it. I fended off 3 people who came in for 3.5 hours, one being quite belligerent. I called for help again as I am 77 and was ignored or yelled at. So then I left the clothes and necessities for the man at the St. Francis door where the church custodian or whatever he is took them and took the extra effort to throw them into a dumpster full of rotting food instead of just laying them next to the dumpster. When I heard about this, I went back with the homeless man rescued what we could and then wrote several angry emails about my abandonment and the cruel action of deliberately trying to destroy the clothes. So the not so good reverend, in my opinion did not like what I wrote and instead of attempting to do healing she wrote a really nasty email saying she had reporting me to the authorities, though she and everyone refuse to tell me who they are; and then openly threatened to have me arrested for illegal dumping and then board president Bob Bercaw or whatever his last name is sent me an email banning me from the property. Wish I could attach her emails here. So if this sounds like the kind of place you feel will advamce your spiritual growth then go for it. Spiritual growth here is like hiking through peanut butter and gratitude is a word that the reverend and the board can spell but that is as far as it goes.

Sunday Services are uplifting and positive with lots to take away and chew on. The music is terrific! The readings and poetry are fantastic as well. Dr. Jonathan is a fantastic guide and he and the board really shepherd the community mindfully, with many opportunities to participate, join in, and gather in different capacities.

He places a high value on each of us being our own healer with our own innate spiritual wisdom we can connect to at anytime. I feel my spiritual values and self sovereignty are upheld with the upmost respect in the opportunities he provides. His sound baths are nothing short of bliss and are a welcome retreat from the busy lives we all live. The weekend spiritual retreat David facilitated filled up my inner cup and helped me to realign to my most sacred values. I initially signed up for a membership through my health insurance, which only provided two classes. However, after attending my first two classes--Restore with Ana and Slow Flow with Maggie--I was hooked! I decided to upgrade to an unlimited membership. It's only been a week, but I truly love this space. All the instructors are so welcoming, and I really appreciate how they emphasize listening to your body and making adjustments as needed. Each instructor brings their own unique and fun energy to the classes. I also love the variety of classes offered. The Sculpt classes I've taken with Cody and Nancy have been a fantastic experience! Their classes are so energetic and fun that the hour flies by--I was sad it was over. If you're looking for a great workout, I highly recommend those classes. I've also enjoyed Maggie's Slow Flow class on Sundays, which was a great way for me to ease back into practice. Christa's Restore class was wonderful too--I loved her energy and felt so relaxed afterward. The Hot class taught by Irene was another favorite of mine. It follows a set sequence, making it a great way to build strength and flow. TL;DR: If you're looking for a yoga studio in this area, I highly recommend this place! The front desk staff and instructors are very welcoming and friendly. The studio is clean, and I love that they provide a cold towel at the end of each class. There's plenty of parking, and unlike some other studios, the classes are never overcrowded--you'll always have plenty of room to move around
