This is a review for dog walking, doggy daycare, and dog boarding…read more I found Peaceable Pets after a very thorough vetting (I am convinced I should have been cast in the movie Best in Show--yes, that is how much of a crazy dog lady I consider myself). Time and again, people on the Ann Arbor Dog Owners Facebook group mentioned Peaceable Pets. I read all the reviews, stalked Peaceable Pet's Facebook page (where Robin posts videos of her guests and informative articles about all things animals), scrutinized the information on her website, did a meet and greet with Marcy, our dog walker, a play date at the Dellwood Doggy Ranch (required for doggy daycare and boarders). I give it 10/10 stars. Peaceable Pets is an Ann Arbor treasure. You will not find someone more knowledgeable about dogs than Robin. Some reasons I love what Robin offers: 1. She understands my dog's unique personality, quirks, and needs. 2. She prioritizes the safety, well-being, and quality of life for my dog. 3. The pick-up and drop-off times worked well with my schedule, which was variable for a while, and then predictable for another while. 4. I trust her 100%. 5. Every time I bring Hagrid to her, he bounds toward her and doesn't even look back to say goodbye. Every dog parent knows that is a good sign. 6. Hagrid is calm and content when he returns from daycare. ...I could go on and on. As for dog walking, Marcy was wonderful and reliable. A few times I bumped into Marcy while I was walking Hagrid and saw his entire body language and vocalization over his joy of seeing Marcy. There is no stronger endorsement than that, in my opinion. To top it all off, Robin and Marcy have really interesting personalities, back stories, and talents when they are not caring for our beloved animals. Marcy speaks French. Robin sings in a band. They are the absolute best.

She is always SO excited to see him, which says a lot because she doesn't warm up to people easily! He takes her on long walks with different routes around the neighborhood and sends us picture updates. He is very reliable and hasn't once missed a walk, and is very responsive to our changing schedule. I recommended him to my mom and would honestly recommend him to everyone I know. Ryan was absolutely wonderful with our one-year-old Dutch Shepherd. From their first meeting Ryan made our pup feel welcome, cared for, and safe. This was especially important to me, as I was transitioning between taking care of our dog full-time to working outside our home. It was anxiety-inducing for me and our dog, to say the least. Well, at least it was for me because I didn't have someone like Ryan to ease my transition.... Thanks to Ryan, we came home each night to a happy, well-exercised, healthy dog. He loved Ryan's sweet dog, Quigley, and even perked up his ears when I asked him if he saw his buddies that day. They had some great adventures on the Iron Horse Trail together. If you are looking for reliable, high-quality care for your dog with personable service that you can count on day-in and day-out, contact Ryan. Your dog will be in the best hands. Des will miss Ryan now that we've moved away. But we'll always be so thankful for him. Thank you, Ryan!

Our cats are very shy, but they warmed up quickly to Katy and John. And, although they are very good at hiding, the sitters always were able to spot them somewhere and took great care in seeing that they are doing well. We were very happy with the whole process of getting to know their services and the time and patience they took to get to know our pets and us (and this initial visit was free). We felt that they were very professional in everything, e.g. by leaving detailed reports about our cats, when they visited and what they did during the visits or by sending us email and text updates. Also, we were very happy that they also took good care of our home, watered the plants and brought in the mail. That's a great help too, while on vacation. Our cats seemed like two happy kittens when we returned and we were happy about this :) We have recommended them to our friends without hesitation!

I dropped off my 6 month old Shiba Inu with Karla's Bed and Biscuit in early March for 3 days and 3…read morenights. He was fully up to date on all his vaccinations. Karla advertises her services for dogs as being cage free with an area to roam. While this may appeal to many people (it certainly appealed to me), my dog picked up Giardia from running around in her yard. Giardia is usually transmitted from dog to dogs through fecal material. Most likely what happened was that one of her resident dogs (she owns five), had Giardia, pooped in the backyard, and then my dog inevitable stepped in it. Karla does not allow tours of her facilities. It is highly likely given the volume of pets that she services, that she does not regularly clean the mud and fecal material in her yard. This is unacceptable for someone that takes care of pets. When confronting her about him picking up Giardia from her. She simply replied "that's just the way it is, it's something that just happens to the dogs that I really can do nothing about." I generally don't review much on Yelp, but I really want to urge anyone considering Karla's Bed and Biscuit to look elsewhere. She is an irresponsible caretaker of pets and your dollars are better spent elsewhere.

But I reached out to Karla before my family vacation needing someone to board my dog. She responded quickly saying she could watch him and asked me if I'd like to set up a day of doggy daycare first to see how he does. I responded, saying yes and asking when she could fit him in. I never received a response after that. I tried calling, and emailing... on different days even... and received nothing. Finally, I emailed Karla telling her I would need to book with someone else because I'm running out of time and she isn't answering me. I sent that email weeks ago and STILL never heard a word from her. Very disappointed. I understand being busy but if you tell someone you can watch their pet and then you don't return any of their calls/emails after that... that is quite unprofessional and now I've been in a bind trying to find someone else who can watch him. Really disappointed.

COVID RESPONSE UPDATE:…read more Our pup Oliver has been feeling super cooped up over the last few months. Walks can only do so much and he was really restless and getting into some trouble around the house. He really needed some socialization so we decided to take him to BreedAbove for a play date. I called ahead to make sure his vaccines were up to date (it's been a while since he had been) and emailed the updated certificates to get him all set up. The next day we dropped him off and he was SO EXCITED he didn't even look back at me as they took him in. He had the best time and I was so happy to see him tired and satisfied. "He played hard with EVERYONE!" they told me when I picked him up! Pick up and drop off is all curbside and staff is masked. I was so happy to see some of our favorite staff members there after almost a year away, and they were just as excited to see Oliver, remembering him after all this time (they also remembered his sister Poppy, who is not so into playing with other dogs and stayed home with us). The windows are all decorated super cute with lots of positive notes painted on the side. I had to update my payment info since my card expired since last we were here and they came out to take the card and brought it back out to me so I didn't have to go inside at all. I ended up buying another batch of day passes for him and I'm excited to be able to drop him off easily and safely whenever he needs a little excitement.
