I have been getting lash extensions for almost two years now. I started off in Seattle at a wonderful salon, but due to a change in job, I had to move to San Fran last winter, and I have been looking for a salon in the Bay Area. I went to Maria when I first moved here. It had been 3 weeks since my last fill (in Seattle). I scheduled an appointment for a FILL with Maria, and she took off all of my old lashes, glued her lashes on. I understand that some salons like to have a clean slate and remove any old lashes, but I scheduled a FILL and she did not inform me that she would be giving me an entire new set. When she glued her lashes on, she would often piggy-back them (applying two synthetic lashes to a single natural lash). Some of the lashes glued together so if one of my natural lashes fell out, it would rip out other lashes. I was very unhappy. I will not return to her. I have been to Happy Lashes for half year... Every two weeks I go to do the same thing in the San Francisco Happy Lashes. I have been to this Alameda store as well with Maria which have awesome service. This time with this Lan lady was the most horrible experience. Once I got into the store, the service was different then regular. No music, my eye got pull without letting me know. In the middle of my eyelash extensions she left not for phone call but for unknown reason that she didn't explain. At the end part, my eyelash extension fall already with 5 minutes plus they don't take credit card all in the sudden which makes me to get cash in the bank across the street. If I am not in a rush to do my eyelash before thanksgiving, I will never go with Lan. I am so regret not to go to SF store ! read more

Don't go here for a haircut. Had my hair butchered here this morning. Asked to have a fade and keep the hair long up top. The barber proceeded to give me a fade, but didn't really seem to understand what i wanted. Told me he was going to clean up some of the hairs on the back of my head, but didn't use scissors. Didn't realize until i went home and showered that my hair is all long on the top except for a big spot in the middle of my head that is nearly shaved off. Explain how that is cleaning up hairs? That is fully eliminating hairs. Nothing like a nice long head of hair with a bald patch in the middle. $25 for that? Could have had my wife mess my hair up for free. Get a haircut here at your own risk. I've got an appointment with another barber tomorrow to fix this horrific cut. read more

Unfortunately I cannot leave a good review. I got my lashes done by lan. I didn't want to go with her in the first place I wanted to see Maria but she was not available. I felt some burning which my friend told me I was not suppose to feel. I should have went with my first mind when they had me sign a consent of the bad things that could happen, and how they are not responsible. That was a first for me. Secondly when I was done I felt rushed because she had another client. I ended up having to come rite back because my lashes were looking crazy on one eye. It was gaining and there is absolutely no parking. She fixed my lashes to.the best of her ability. Now it has been less than 48.hours and those same eye lashes are messed up. I wanted to.leave a good review for customer service but I cannot. I'm.not happy with these lashes that were $150. They were NOT worth it. I came here because of all the great reviews. I happily did the drive into San Francisco because I have never had anybody else do lashes as well as she does. My wife has little to no upper eye lashes. She has always wanted nice lashes. She heard about Happy Lashes in Alameda, and decided to try them out. She was introduced to an Aesthetician named Paula. Paula worked wonders and was able to provide my wife with nice eye lashes that look like they are her own lashes, and not fake lashes, which my wife did not want. I know we have seen those women who walk around with eye lashes so big that they could knock down someone who walked beside them! Ridiculous! This review is for Lan. I do not believe Marian's review was true at all. I have been a customer of Maria's ever since she started lashing. I have been lashed by Maria, Shireen and now Lan. Lan is a wonderfully skilled lasher. I have no complaints about any of the lashings that I have had done by Lan. I have nothing but praise! If I come back before 3 weeks, she makes it a point to ask me how did I like the lashes that I had or what did I not like about them. Lan also asks me how many WEEKS did my lashes hold for...not minutes as that Yelp reviewer claims and she always tells me when she is using a new lash or if she is doing something different. I love her unique style and the way she lashes! My lashes last up to 4 weeks. Lan is a very quick, diligent worker and she is truly an asset to Happy Lashes. I love her work, her quiet spirit and how she transforms my lashes into a beautiful work of art. Do not count her out! She soon will have so many clients, I may have to book months in advance...which I will not hesitate to do. Saw Maria this morning for a full set and removal of lashes I got yesterday at a Salon in Rockridge. Not all people who claim to be able to do lashes can so beware! Maria was awesome! She carefully removed the "old" lashes and applied her new set all in 1 hour. (Yesterday's trauma took a full two hours and my lashes looked like the legs of dead mosquitoes had been torn off and haphazardly applied to my eyelids!) The full set wasn't as thick as I expected but they were lovely and long and had a natural curve to them that blended in with my real lashes. Also, I loved that Maria put me on a table to lay down (like when you're getting waxing done), put a blanket over me and let the heater run. Yesterday I was in a salon chair (for hair cutting) and awkwardly leaning back with a towel behind my neck. (Also I was freezing!) Bottom line- Maria is a professional. She is good at what she does and very careful even though she works fast. I loved her and would confidently send any friends her way for semi-permanent lashes! Quick tips -You can park out front. The parking at the meters right outside gets you 30 min for every 25 cents. Also, I ended up paying cash because their card machine was broken. If cash is a problem be sure to call ahead and make sure their machine is working! read more
