She has a very precise and gentle hand - which made the whole thing much easier. It was my first time getting microbladed, so I didn't know what to expect for pain. Xen used a topical to numb the eyebrow area, which helps a lot. She also tells you what she's doing next, which helps so you feel good and aware throughout the process. Healing was much easier than I thought it would be. It took a week of putting on the A&D cream (Xen gave me all the instructions) and it was easy to do. I healed beautifully and could not be happier! It's amazing because I still look like me (which is what I wanted) - but with amazing brows that make my eyes pop! I LOVE them! I wanted them to have a polished, more pronounced look - but not look huge. Xen had different options and really listened to what I wanted. We found the right shape for my face (based on what I wanted) and she took it from there! My mom loved them so much that she got them done too! My dad gave her microblading from Brow & Line as a birthday gift - well done dad! Her brows were sparse and she had to pencil them in everyday. Now she has gorgeous brows from the moment she wakes up each morning! She is so happy! Xen is a total gem! I somehow found Claudia via Instagram and as soon as I was done with breastfeeding, I made an appointment. The initial appointment I had was at her Alameda office. It was not painful, and she really was very particular about the shape in order to not underdo it or overdo it. Mine healed quickly without any issues and then for my second appointment, I went to her new office in Pacifica. We made the brows a bit thicker and they are now the perfect size and shape. I chose Anita because she's the owner and the only one handling the work. I first contacted Anita to let her know I had no idea what services I needed (Wax? Threading? Tinting? Lamination?) but she said I could just book an appointment and she could change services if needed once we discussed in person. I was nervous about going to someone for the first time, but Anita listened to my concerns and put me at ease. She recommended keeping my fullness, explained she wouldn't go too thin, and I was confident she knew what she was doing. She recommended starting with the basics, and explained that lamination might be unnecessary. She suggested waxing for initial shaping, followed by threading for precision, and a light tint to define my brows without going too dark. Throughout, she worked carefully in cycles, letting me inspect the progress, comparing to before photos, and meticulously refining the shape until it was perfect. Waxing was not as painful as I expected, and she applied soothing aloe after. Threading was not at all painful. Waxing made my skin a bit red for a while afterwards, but I was going directly home afterwards so it didn't matter to me. I was nervous about tinting, but Anita explained the process, ensuring the shade wouldn't be too bold and said she could keep wiping to lighten if necessary. She said it would continue to fade and only lasts about 12 days, so I wasn't worried about a commitment if I didn't end up liking it. After the reveal, it initially seemed darker than I expected, and she offered to lighten, but after she showed me the before-and-after photos, I realized it was only a subtle change and I just wasn't used to it. The entire session, including tinting, took about 45 minutes and cost $60 ($40 for initial shaping and $20 tint), very reasonable cost for such personalized care. I've already received a bunch of complements on my brows, and am very happy with them. Anita's office is quiet and cozy, tucked inside an office complex (Salon Republic), and she plays soothing music while she works.
