Order with a staff member at the counter, then walk to the left and wait for you drink to be passed to you. Mango yakult smoothie - my go too. Love the yakult flavor mixed with the mango. This time around though, the flavor seemed off. Almost tasted like brown sugar boba was added in, which maybe did happen as the color of the drink also had waves of brown in it? I understand the generation working these jobs right now but y'all still need to INTERACT with other humans to work in the service industry. Sheesh these kids had NO personality and NO manners. We stood there, with two other girls NOT with us, waiting over 3 minutes. No eye contact or acknowledgment. AWFUL. I'll never spend money at this location again. Cup barely filled halfway. I added additional star because it was a busy Saturday. And the service was fine. I ordered a hot milk tea with salted cheese foam to drink on my drive home and did not think to check my drink until I got to my car. Come to find that it was barely half full and there was no salted cheese foam. I can give some grace because it was busy, and I can understand forgetting the topping, but How does anyone find it acceptable to complete a drink order when the cup is barely half full? read more

Short: taste 4 star customer service 2 star. Extensive menu so you really need to read and be careful when ordering. Visited first week of August '23 [Menu] menu is not user friendly. Lots of text and pre made combos with extras like boba or "puff" which is basically a thicker cream/crema [Service] after looking for a while of the menu, since I never been to a happy lemon. I finally decided what I'd order. Well... The guy at the register really was rushing for me to finish ordering. I didn't even finish my order an he already asked twice in a rush voice "is that it? Is that all?" which I didn't appreciate - causing me not able to check that he gave me the wrong puff to my drink. That really frustrated me. [price] for 2 drinks one with puff - $16. Pretty pricey. [Taste] I got the Ube fresh milk with taro ball and it was seriously so delicious. It always was one of the dream boba teas I've been looking for. The ube was string and fresh and the taro balls were flavorful. My friend's order was the one that got made wrong, they wanted regular puff cream but gave oreo puff cream instead.. [Additional note about service] I did ask if they would be open later and said they would - they closed around 7pm.. So I wasn't able to get a drink for my mother. Happy lemon is a chain milk tea cafe. This location is a stall in the walkway of Washington square mall. I ordered my usual boba milk tea at 50% sweetness and 70% ice. The sweetness was very sweet for only being at 50%. I would recommend less than 50% if you don't like sweet milk tea. The over all flavor was good, the boba was chewier/tougher than I am used to. They have a variety of other drink option and the sign says that they brew their teas fresh every hour. The service was friendly and quick. Be warned I went to shake my tea and the lid was not sealed. I will be back to try more of their beverages! read more

First of all, I typically love Happy Lemon. I am happy to see they opened one in Washington Square. I have nothing against the staff here. The drinks are great. Their opening time is inconsistent. I see it's been reported on Yelp and Google as 10am, but there have been several times where I walked by and they have a CLOSED sign over the register. I asked and one girl told me they weren't opening till 11:45. I wasn't sure if it was a one time thing but it has repeated itself with inconsistent opening times. I also do not see a sign at the kiosk listing the hours which would be super helpful. My biggest complaint is their "ube smoothie." It is deceiving as it is NOT an ube smoothie, but a taro smoothie. Ube and taro are NOT the same ingredient. I was disappointed when the girl handed me a taro smoothie when I ordered the ube smoothie. I asked about it and they told me it's the same thing. It's weird because the menu lists it as an ube smoothie but the actual cup's sticker had it listed as a taro smoothie. It is also false advertising since I see a picture on their yelp page of an ube smoothie which came with puff cream and was NOT what I got at all. I also lurk at other states' Happy Lemons and their ube smoothies match the advertising picture. I am very confused and frustrated with the misuse of the word "ube" in their menu. Happy Lemon is a tasty new addition to the bubble tea purveyors at Washington Square. They are in a large kiosk location right on the mall. Their tea menu is broken down into what they call "Series"...and I'd describe these as different "categories" of flavors. So, anyway, I ordered Jasmine Green Tea with Fresh Squeezed Lemon from their "Lemon Series". It had a nice 'lemony' tang to it and was really refreshing. I chose Crystal Boba as a topping because it's somewhat neutral tasting and didn't distract from the lemon flavor of the tea. This is a convenient spot for refreshments while shopping at the mall. read more
