I find it concerning that a review from 10 months ago mention the damaged door and it STILL is not fixed. The interior is shabby and in desperate need for a renovation. The walls and bench are dingy and extremely scuffed. It's also very warm inside and uncomfortable to hangout in due to temperature and the hard seating. It's a shame because this could be a super cute place to spend time and host small events if they would update it! The young gals could work on their customer service. They're not rude per say, but they could try harder to greet customers and connect at the register. I've worked at Starbucks for 8 years, having genuine conversations with customers and turning them into regulars is the best part of the job! Work is as fun as you make it. I try to chat with the girls and they respond kindly but you can feel they'd rather not participate in conversation lol. I did sit one time and watched them work through a rush and they crushed it! They laughed and high-fived, and that energy was so cute and is exactly what is needed every day. You girls are awesome when you let your personalities shine! I get the A.13 (?) I think. The brown sugar milk tea with oatmilk. They've made it perfect both times, and I'm so appreciative of them! I hope the gals see the constructive feedback and work on customer service, but my biggest reason for 3 stars is management neglecting the appearance of the business. Please fix this! This place has definitely gone down hill a little. I remember a while ago the atmosphere was solid, and the drinks were good as well. I decided to go since I'm back in town for a while. I think this place is just ok, service was alright they were somewhat friendly but didn't really greet me when I came in or acknowledge me at all until I stood at the register for a minute. Not a big deal, because not sure what people have going on in their day before walking in! When this first opened we thought it was good enough for us to come back since it's down the street from us. But one main thing I've noticed during our multiple visits there is that the workers never look happy. With all the other boba places in the area, we haven't been back in over a year. Tonight we went an hour before closing. They block off the whole area with chairs so that you just walk straight to the register. We were the only ones in there and we walked in and said hello and the girl never greeted us and said nothing until we ordered. Not even a thank you. This HL is just so inconsistent on both drinks & service that I don't think I'll be stopping in anymore. Ordered the passionfruit lemon oolong tea a few weeks back. it was good and looked as it does on the menu. so I came back to get one again a week or so later. The employee handed me a drink that had milk in it. So I pointed out that it's not the right drink, very politely and patiently and she told me "it is, this one has milk in it". I had to point at the picture of the drink behind her on the menu to get her to believe it definitely does not have milk in it. So she made it again, this time with barely any passionfruit - literally like 1/2 a teaspoon worth - and no boba. So i asked her to fix it again since it was missing the boba and got some attitude and a bit of an eyeroll. So the drink I got the third attempt (she took the seal off the same drink to add boba) had a laughably small # of boba, like 5 of them and suddenly tasted like she added a ton of extra lemon to make it super sour and gross. I literally couldn't drink it because it tasted like eating a raw lemon. I can't be 100% sure but I felt that she made a bad drink on purpose because I (rightly) asked for her to fix it twice. I wasnt gonna try for a 4th remake at this point, so I just gave up and left. My husband got the same drink today, and again It's got very little tea and basically no passionfruit in it (see picture). I've noticed in the past some of their staff (not all! Most are very sweet & helpful) seem to have poor presence and give that GenZ stare/look at you like you're weird and annoying for coming in to buy a drink, but I generally don't get hung up in n that as long as the drinks are ok. I love the boba drinks at Happy Lemon. We have visited several times since they opened, and have enjoyed every drink ordered (my favorite is the brown sugar drinks). BUT- The cleanliness and the customer service have got to improve if they want to keep their customers coming back. Since there is limited seating, and the wait is excessive for your order, you can't help but look at the dirty counters, tables, chairs and overflowing trash bins. First time there review! Employees were super friendly when I walked in. I'm not really a fan of boba (I know, I know) but the girl at the counter helped me pick a drink and let me know I could take the boba out of any drink I choose. Ended up getting the Freshly Squeezed Lemon Black Tea which is super good! I opted for 1/2 ice and for a first I wish I would've gotten regular ice! In addition to my drink I got a chocolate bubble waffle which was really good, and big enough to share as I shared mine with my husband! I tried to Tiramisu Salted Cheese to dip in the bubble waffle and I'll just say I tried it and wasn't a fan! but they have other options for the waffles! Establishment was clean and I got my order in about 5 minutes. Only reason why it was 4 star is because I'm not sure if this would be an everyday stop for me, but maybe a nice treat on a hot day every once in a while. Ordered my usual C4. Kumquat Lemon Jasmine Green Tea: hot, 0% sugar and whenever I ordered it in other locations, it already comes with lychee jelly so I asked to add boba and I asked if it already comes with it and they said "no" so I switched to lychee jelly and, of course, was charged for it. As they were making it, one employee said to "just use the green tea". I was a bit perplexed. Received the order in a smaller than usual cup, took a sip and it was not even hot. The lemon overpowered the drink so it was more sour and didn't get a hint of jasmine. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but I didn't feel like me speaking up would result in any kind of resolution. For the higher cost of treating myself to bubble tea these days, this was a disappointment. So when I was handed a drink that looked like plain milk and tasted like milk and a hint of sugar with zero tea flavor, I knew something was off. That response right there is why this place deserves every bit of criticism. No apology. No correction. No customer service whatsoever. Just pure attitude and laziness. Meanwhile, her coworker stood nearby, throwing side-eyes like I was the problem for pointing it out. Not one person there acted like they had any business representing a national chain. Let me be clear: the drink was bad -- but the treatment I received was worse. It was insulting. Dismissive. Unprofessional. This wasn't just a mistake. It was complete indifference toward quality, service, and basic respect. Happy Lemon should be embarrassed to have their name on this location. If this is how customers are treated for speaking up, they don't deserve the business. I will never go back, and I'll be telling everyone I know to avoid this place completely. I think there is definitely room for improvement in some areas: customer service, ingredients, and consistency. They aren't too friendly there... The actual drinks are pretty tasty, but they don't have any decaf tea options, and one time I was there, they were all out of tapioca pearls. Unfortunately my second visit to Happy Lemon wasn't so happy. After my first visit I downloaded the app as the giant QR code in the lobby encouraged. Since there was a huge line this time I decided to use the app to order and sit down to wait. After ordering a simple Wintermelon lemonade with nothing added or changed I Sat down and waited for the text the app said I would receive once my order was done. After almost 20 min I went to the counter (sorry for the person I somewhat cut off) and asked how much longer my order would take. The cashier asked for help from the lady making waffles and she asked to see my phone, which said order was pending. After pressing some buttons on the register my order was declined. Then she just walked away! No explanation why they declined my order or why it took me saying something for them to do anything about it. The cashier mumbled something about not accepting DoorDash and I said I'm not, I'm ordering for myself. He took another two customers then finally took my order. Unfortunately the girl behind me was in the same situation. They should have a sign saying they don't accept orders via the app, or do what Starbucks does and close orders in the app so you don't have that option. read more

The place is super cute but the drinks we got were disgustingly sweet. My daughter got the strawberry shortcake smoothie but it was more like a really sugary ice cream milk shake. I got some kind of strawberry tea and even got the less sugar option and I just couldn't drink it. If I go back I'll try and see what the sugar free options are, if there are any. As it's the only official boba shop in the area I think it's a great place! Usually I would have to drive across the water 30 min for some decent boba so I'm really glad this place opened. Embarrassing establishment in Kitsap. Don't go to Sad Sappy Lemon. We were the only people in there at first. We ordered 2 bubble waffles. Person working was rather slow and most likely on edibles. Greeted with a stuffed mouth of food. Glasses and curly hair. They made the waffles and let them sit in front of their little black fan for over 10 minutes. My family thought that she messed up on them and she went to make a few drinks for other customers after us. She then went to the back for more batter for a few minutes while our food was still in front of that little black fan. She kept pacing back and forth. After, she took just one waffle and was dazed and confused. While putting their dirty fingers inside the waffle sleeve after carrying tubs of batter and touching everything. Our second waffle was given to a random person that came in 20-25 minutes after us. We opted for a refund and went to another place. No care in this establishment at all.
