Happy Lemon is my happy place. The drinks are tasty, refreshing and made with fresh mango. If you like bubble teas or fruity drinks this is the right place for you. I can recommended the mango pomelo sago and the mango matcha latte smoothie, very smooth and you can chose how sweet your drink is so you can't go wrong. The mango passion fruit ice tea is also among my favorites, since it has that passion fruit tangy taste. I'm less a fan of the salted cheese drinks, I tried the matcha tiramisu but was not impressed. We got ourselves some bubble waffles being tempted by their very cute wrappings. Was I ever disappointed! First of all, we ordered through ubereats but the order did not show up on the app on time. Secondly, the waffles were not cooled down before being put into the bag, which was a major mistake because it will make them soggy quickly and lose their crispy exterior. The cheese foam was also quite thick, the tiramisu flavour was more subtle but blended really well with the chocolate and made for a delicious experience. I really liked their pearls - they were a bit smaller than average but very smooth and chewy and seemed to be slightly sweet. I ordered a medium, which is smaller than what you'll get at lot of other places, but the drink was so rich I don't think I could've handled a large anyway. The shop itself is pretty small - there's some stools lined up at a counter along the window but that's it for seating, so it seems this is more of a grab-and-go place. I really love this place. There are two remarkable drinks that I like. 1. " Taro and Purple sweet potato fresh mike" It was not very sweet, no extra sugar and no caffeine. My favourite combo at Happy Lemon is Lemon Pineapple Green Tea with Pearls & Original Bubble Waffle. The pearls are chewy and the pineapple bits add a sweet texture to this refreshing drink. Came here for vacation, as we are from socal and are always on the prowl for premium boba. I've had my share of Happy Lemon in both norcal (SF area) and socal (Happy Lemon in norcal, you have my heart. The one in socal not so much as the menu is lacking -Irvine location with Sunmerry bakery). This Happy Lemon ranks highly along with the norcal ones as well. Although the menu looks smaller than the norcal one, the quality of drinks and boba/toppings are still great. To add on, I'm thoroughly impressed because there is a lot of Asian food and newer boba spots in Vancouver, and Happy Lemon stood out. Not going to list the handful of other spots we've had (mainly a few in Richmond area), but Happy Lemon in my opinion is a very solid spot for good boba. I told them I would come back after I ordered but I didn't come back for around 30 minutes. I checked out all the Happy Lemon stores in the Seattle and Vancouver area, and this store makes the absolute tastiest tea and cheese foam. Two words: cheese tea. If that sounds like a weird combo to you, you're not wrong. However, the flavours mix together surprisingly well and create one unique and tasty drink! I came here with the sole purpose of trying cheese tea, which I had seen pop up on my social media feed before. I ordered the green tea with salted cheese, which was the recommended drink in the cheese tea section. The drink comes with a coffee style lid, so that way you get some cheese topping with every sip. The flavour of the green tea was bright, fresh, and not overly sweet. I'm usually a milk tea person, but I think I've just been converted! The salted cheese topping was smooth and had a similar texture to milk foam, but thicker; the flavour reminded me of cheesecake and the creamy richness of the cheese was balanced out perfectly by the refreshing green tea. Keep in mind though, this drink is really filling so it might not be the best option if you're pretty full beforehand. This Happy Lemon location is a lil small, like most boba places, but there's a counter area with some seating. There weren't any other people when I came so my drink was made really quickly. I don't think this place usually gets too crowded, so it's a nice spot to chat with friends and chill. I've had so much boba in the past that I'm sort of bored of it now, so cheese tea brings a fun new change of pace. I ordered their Medium Green Tea with Salted Cheese at half ice (5.15). Over $5 for this size is definitely on the high end, but it was a unique "let's try it once and never again" kind of experience. The tea is only slightly sweetened in its default form and when met with the saltiness of the cream cheese, it contrasts rather nicely. Since there is no milk used in this drink, the cheese takes the place in making each sip creamy, albeit giving a cheesy aftertaste. If for nothing else, it's pretty cool seeing the dollop of cream cheese on top slowly diffuse throughout tea over the course of 10 minutes. read more

Happy Lemon has satisfied many a post-dinner bubble tea craving for me and the boyfriend. Our go-tos are usually any of their lemon teas, with my personal favourite being the pineapple green tea. They incorporate little bits of preserved lemon peel into the drink, adding a new texture that contrasts nicely with the usual add-ins like coconut jelly or tapioca pearls. I also really love their grapefruit yakult drink. If you love grapefruit like me, there's chunks of grapefruit slivers throughout and the yakult adds a light sweetness to balance it all out. We were actually thinking of going to Chatime but this place was closer. I've passed by their Richmond location several times and wondered about their products. Never found the right time to check it out until today. I really enjoyed the refreshing tart flavour of the mango lemonade slushy. It also had an interesting jelly that we coudn't figure out. It was similar to grass jelly but was clear. It was pretty sweet though, so I will ask them to decrease the sugar next time. I can see myself craving these when it's hot out. The salted cream toppings looked interesting as I haven't tried these yet. Seems to be the new craze in the bbt world. It's a tiny space with only a few chairs to sit on. The drink was okay, this place serves salted cream cheese bubble tea that I have not found anywhere else, however I made a mistake to order only 30% sugar because in the end it was quite tasteless. The reason why i chose 30% is because most of the bubble tea stores I've been to serve VERY SWEET DRINKS! Including Toco (the best one in my opinion). A pretty average bubble tea place. Happy Lemon is a big chain in China which has expanded to Vancouver. The Robson location is the second of two shops opened here (the first being in Richmond). In terms of the shop itself, it's obviously nice and new - the location is definitely convenient if you're down this part of Robson. And they have a great marketing campaign with their cute toys and keychains you can collect. However, I would say they really need to get their pricing right. I got a regular sized black tea with pearls which is one of their recommended drinks. It was fine, nothing special really when it came to the taste. But the was about $4.50, but that's the same price I can get a comparable large sized drink at other places which are just as good (if not better). I mean a regular sized matcha mango with pearls was going to be almost $7.00 - sorry but that's a bit steep when it's not even a large size! The BOGO offer they have is good but it's at a really awkward time from 4-5pm and is only supposed to last for the first two weeks after their grand opening. Overall, I wouldn't say this is a bad place but it's kinda hard in Vancouver's oversaturated market to say that this place really stands out. If you want to compete with the major Asian chains (Chatime, Coco, Gongcha, and Shiny Tea) you will need to be way more competitive here in Vancouver. I've seen huge line ups in Asia for Happy Lemon but I really just don't see that happening here for what they're offering. Unless you have a product that can justify the pricing, I'll stick to the other major Taiwanese chains in town or other cool local Bubble tea shops that are emerging, which will offer me a better bang for my buck. read more

We haphazardly found this place while on vacation in Vancouver. They were still doing their "soft opening" and didn't have full signage yet, but they did have a cartoony lemon statue out front that drew us in. My husband and I decided to share the Lemon Yakult with Aloe. I really had a craving for tapioca pearls but after they started making our drink they advised they had run out. I asked for the (usually more expensive) taro balls instead and boy was that a happy accident. This wound up being one of the most delicious and refreshing drinks of my life. It made such an impression that the husband and I stopped back later that evening to try something else. This time we each ordered our own drink and so were awarded one of the grand opening keychains. I got the kumquat lemon green tea this time, and while it was okay it wasn't as life-changing as before. Hopefully they will open one of these in Chicago soon! read more

Very cute bubble tea place that's another popular chain in Asia. This visit was my second time trying Happy Lemon, but my first time at the Robson location. In my opinion, Happy Lemon is good if you like your drinks super tart, or enjoy lemon flavoured things! Not really my cup of tea, but I'm always open to trying new food places. I came here with my cousin the other day after lunch and she recommended the Lemon Yakult slush, which was also starred on their menu as a popular item. When I tried the drink, it was super tart and I didn't taste any Yakult at all. My cousin tried it and said it tasted different from the last time she had it, so I think some consistency is needed. We ended up taking our drinks to the beach, where I sipped on mine periodically but only because it costed me $6. If I return I think I'll just try their milk tea or something. They have a daily $3.99 special, with a different bubble tea for every day of the week which is not a bad deal. The price point is comparable with other bubble tea joints, but I personally didn't find their drinks to be fantastic. Staff and service was what you'd expect from a place like this. Happy Lemon has been a place that I have been always wanting to try, especially hearing about their happy hour deal through some friends. I visited Happy Lemon last week, just after the pride parade, and had unfortunately found out that their happy hour promotion had ended a few months ago. Although, we were informed that they do have daily specials throughout the week that are sold for $3.99 for a Large. Therefore, there were two flavours on special on the Sunday that we went, which were Oreo Milk Tea and Mango Lemon Slushy. We bought both flavours. We added pearls to the Oreo Milk Tea, and left the Mango Lemon Slushy as it was. I was a little disappointed because I found that it was just average bubble tea. The Oreo Milk Tea tasted like milk tea with soggy Oreo bits in it, and the pearls were average. The mango lemon slushy was too sweet. We felt that the syrup lumped together and was not mixed in (is it supposed to be lumped on the bottom???), and we also thought that the syrup overpowered the mango and lemon. If we pass by and see that a Salted Cheese Series is the daily special, we might give Happy Lemon another shot, but other than that, will probably not be returning (especially since Chatime is just a few blocks down! :D ) Overall, worth the try if you get the daily special! *I was informed my the owner that you can adjust your sugar level!!!! I love the tea at Happy Lemon so when I saw one while visiting Vancouver I decided to pick one up to enjoy in my hotel room later in the evening. I have nothing but good experiences with the shop in San Francisco. However I found the staff here to be short and rude as the cashier chatted with her friend and the other staff member (I asked for a sealed takeout lid when I ordered) wasn't listening and poured out all the cheese cream top when I reminded that I needed it sealed. She rung me in before I could ask for ice/sugar adjustments and I felt uncomfortable requesting a change so I just took the drink and left. I was told there weren't any special menu items on at the time even though the rotating screen (noticed after I paid) was showing a drink I would have liked to try. The menus and counter were also a bit unclean. Regretted not going to chatime when I passed it earlier. Haven't tried my drink yet, but still rated two stars because I'm at least reasonably sure that it will taste the same as other locations!? read more
