I was a walk in after fishing for sockeye on the Kenai. I had existing gel on my toes. I wanted a deluxe pedicure with white French tip gel. Ethan did an amazing and thorough job. Under new management. I went in to make an appointment they were able to get me right in. The new staff was friendly & helpful. I must say the female employee does beautiful free hand nail art. I made an appointment to have both my daughter and wife's nails done here, the nail technician was constantly messing with their phone paying more attention to whatever was on their screen than on the work they were performing, a few days later one of the nails falls of my wife's right hand, I call in to ask for an appointment to repair the nail, and was blatantly told that would not be possible since they work off commission no one would be willing to do this for us, even after just spending around 250$ at the salon just days before, this response was extremely unprofessional, and rude. read more

This place ... waited for a long time. Then, ended up with a big toe infection that I just can't get rid of. So much for a nice pedi for a vacation. I will never go to this place again. EVER. My little granddaughter sat there for over an hour waiting and she has had pedis often. Just lousy service and bad/worst pedi of my life. read more

Mani-pedi. Manicure was fine, but the girl who did my pedicure hurt both big toes, which left me with minor skin infections that pussed. The girl cut into the skin around the nail bed of each big toe and left an open wound which she did not clean and disinfect, so now I have a minor bacterial infection on both big toes. I will ask my doctor if I need anti-biotic to make sure the infection goes away. Brutal pedicure. Red puss filled sores on toes. read more

Wish I could give this joke of a place zero stars. Made an appt for 3pm days ago for a mani/ pedi For my friend and I. One of us has a photo shoot tomorrow and the other has a wedding to attend. Upon arrival we were not greeted for the first 10 minutes. When someone finally acknowledged us I was rudely spoke to and the woman started a manicure only to get up and tell me to wait as she moved on to another customer who apparently walked in an hour plus after her supposed appt. I forgot to mention two other people walked in who also had a 3pm appt. so obviously they had double booked. When I asked the owner what time we could be expected to be taken, he literally could not have cared less. He tried to make up a few excuses about how they were running behind and when I told him we would go somewhere else he said "go ahead. "They honestly could not have cared less. I have never seen such a lack of customer service in my entire life. They know that there are only two salons on the Kenai Peninsula and therefore they know that it doesn't matter if people get upset because they are going to get clientele no matter what. What a horrible way to run your business. Needless to say my friend and I walked out (3:40pm) and will not be back. Not that they care at all. Save your money and go to nail boutique it's the only other option in this town. read more

I sat in the waiting room for an hour and 20 minutes for them to take five minutes to get my nails off. The lady who did it was extremely fast and she made sure to make sure nothing hurt but waiting an hour and 20 minutes for a five minute job is ridiculous. Especially when they told me to come in at a specific time. The quality of what she did was good but the inconsistency of the time and then just having you sit there and wait was ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. Well, after seeing the place and watching them give manicures and pedicures for a few minutes, I decided to get a pedicure! Without an appointment, I waited about 35-min for a treatment. Happy Nails is new! They have lots of fresh polish to choose from and great massage chairs. They have exhaust fans at the nail stations to reduce fumes which I appreciate. Two large TVs features cooking shows with closed captioning. I enjoy not having to listen to TV during my salon experience. My daughter called me after the appointment was set and after talking to her, I realized that it was for the wrong day. So I had my daughter call back to rebook the appointment for the weekend. The same lady that my daughter had talked to stopped my daughter mid sentence and told her not to call back that they don't have time for us to fix our appointment. I then called up there to confirm the awful way she talked to my daughter and she yes that she doesn't have time to deal with us. I will never go to Happy Nails again. This is the first time I have tried this business for a pedicure. I was very pleased. I believe it is the best option for a pedicure in the Soldotna/Kenai area. I called on a Monday morning and was given an afternoon appointment. I was greeted and put into my spa chair immediately when I arrived. The ambiance is very wonderful! Excellent massage chairs, lighting, and very relaxing with soft music playing with no "nail salon" smell. My technician was very pleasant, attentive and skilled. I had very dry "winter feet" and she did a great job of removing the dead skin and massaging my feet and legs. I have had a very few better pedicures, but never in Alaska. I was very pleased and this is my new regular nail care choice here in Soldotna. I would most definitely recommend and I will be back! read more

My Wife called and scheduled an appointment but when she arrived for services they had two workers in the salon with about four customers. The man asked if she was a walk-in and she said she had an appointment. The man said we don't have you down. My wife showed him her phone where she called and he offered her a later time. My wife wanted a manicure and gel polish when she made the appointment. Seems like they take walk ins for full sets of nails over appointments if they stand to make more money and they don't have enough staff to complete work as scheduled by appointment. I had to wait for 15 minutes (4:45) and then was put in a chair with my feet in water but it was another 15 minutes (5:00) before the young lady started my pedicure. I went here 3 times. The first was good, mani/pedi and they put on my acrylic nails. 2nd appt was ok but I had an appt and there were over an hour behind. My nails were shorter than I like but I didn't say anything. You could also see the line where the old acrylic met the new. On the third appt I didnt bother to make an appt. My nails were cut even shorter than the time before even after I mentioned they were a little short. She just left the other hand longer. I asked about the length and the lines. Jason, the owner came over and said that is normal....huh? No no...I had nails for many years before this and there was never a viseable line. He said they would fix them but they never wanted my business again! I was mortified! I have never been asked to leave or banned from a business and this is because I asked why there was a line. I sat there with tears. He removed the old set very forcefully and hurt my nail beds. Then had Michael finish. Michael did a nice job and was very nice, and by the end of it all they told me I could now come back if I asked for Michael.....probably not. We went in for appointment at 4:30 for a set of acrylics and a pedicure we go in and sit down and wait 25 minutes with no one saying anything to us when we say how much longer and they tell us will take the pedicure now and my mother said how much longer for the acrylics and they said another 35 minutes so needless to say we walked out and will not be giving their business anymore this is our second time having a problem the first time we waited a half an hour and this time we are supposed to wait an hour why even take appointments if they don't even bother to follow the schedule time. read more
