Hi, we have been sending my children to this after school program for almost a year now, and are happy with the education that they receive. Their enrichment program includes foreign language (Chinese), coding (scratch/appropriate for kid level), art (painting and drawing), math and English. I also hear that they will be providing a free sample class for this Sunday Feb 28, 2021 (online?), so if you are interested, please contact Ms. Lin at 925-365-1809 or lin@happypandakids.com

If you are looking for a quality bilingual education for your children, I highly recommend Pinnacle…read moreLearning . I had the opportunity to meet with the founder. She works with experienced teachers to design a comprehensive curriculum. Most of other after school programs I've checked out tend to assign repetitive lessons (my son lost interests very quickly on anything repetitive and he resisted going). At Pinnacle Learning, the curriculum grows with the students, while the focus is learning while having fun. The teachers are highly educated and bilingual proficient with many years of experience in teaching Mandarin. When my son was attending a different bilingual school last year, I often caught the Mandarin teachers speaking English to my son because he was American-born. This is not the case at Pinnacle Learning. The teachers believe in full immersion, teaching only in Mandarin, and the results are amazing. Some of the students went from not knowing any Chinese to conversational and even able to perform a show on stage Completely in Chinese. The key is that the children enjoy learning Mandarin and have a strong desire to continue. I highly recommend Pinnacle Learning.

Pinnacle has really been the best bilingual immersion program that we've found. The director, Ms. Bing, is dedicated to the children and teaching the culture, not just the language. I've really been happy with the progress our son has made in the 5 months that he's been attending. He has learned how to write, converse, and sing in Mandarin. There are activities and themes each month to keep the learning fun and interactive. We are really looking forward to the summer school classes!

Like LOVED IT. I am writing this at the end of the week because my son was demanding I cancel next week's camp somewhere else so he can go back to Cometa. They have great hours, well-planned days with lots of opportunities to learn and practice Spanish, daily outings using their vans (the outings were very fun for our kiddo), and home cooked meals and snacks. Our kid did the "cooking" week and he was truly transformed by it. I think the staff did a great job choosing simple recipes that were delicious too and were very patient and caring during the lesson. Everyday they made something new and that was super fun. We are so happy with the staff, they were very professional and child-centered, and exuded warmth and a sense of belonging for the little ones. We plan to come back next summer and for other camps during the school year. They do aftercare too, but we're based in San Leandro so that doesn't work for us. Nevertheless, their afterschool program sounds really wonderful too.

We speak both English and Spanish at home, but my kid wasn't really picking up much Spanish until she joined. Since then, her Spanish vocabulary has grown tremendously. She really loves going and always looks forward to it. Plus, the school pick-up has been super easy with no problems at all. We also participated in their summer program and loved that the kids were getting exposed to different settings like a ranch and my child loved seeing chickens and horses. I'd definitely recommend this program to other families!

This camp was very misleading. I enrolled my son in the 6-9 soccer camp and all sports camp (9:00…read moreAM-4:00 PM), expecting structured soccer instruction. Instead, the day typically didn't start until 9:30 AM and was essentially over by 3:30 PM, with kids sitting around waiting for pickup. On the first day, one coach kicked a ball into my son's head and then disappeared for the rest of the week. My son came home every day saying he learned no soccer skills because there was little to no coaching. They didn't even play soccer on the last day. Most activities were random games unrelated to soccer. Afternoons consisted mainly of crafts, Legos, and a bounce house--fun activities, but not what was advertised. The check-in process was also disorganized. The receptionist repeatedly struggled to find my son's registration because she was confused about first and last names, despite his information being clearly visible in the system. She claims everyone makes mistake and that's ok, please tell this to your boss, not me. This camp has potential, but it is poorly managed and does not deliver what it promises. Updated based on Russ's feedback - the name in the system was correct because when your receptionist can't find it and handed me the iPad, I was able to look it up and it looks right. However, looks like it was sorted by first name but she asked for last name. I understand it was supposed to be very structured, but during class, it was not the case. My son even asked the coach to teach him how to kick and shoot better but the coach ignored him.
