They really took the time to get to know our dog's personality, routine, habits, and even the commands we use and specific areas we're working with him on training. They are so attentive and in tune with both our dog and our home, and have alerted us and checked in if something seemed unusual, or potentially unsafe. After every visit we get a detailed message about the time they spent with our pup (including adorable pictures). They have even reached out to us to check in on our dog after an operation, during a time when they weren't coming for visits. Gretchen and Rob are such a kind and compassionate team. In fairness, I was sure to address these issues with Dr. Block - who comes here to argue, defend and deny - further evidence of the way customers and pets are treated. The things that were said to me about my concerns were - "I only gave that medication for you, not your pet" - after a routine screening when my pet was wailing in distress - "Oh , they're just being dramatic" - and when confronted with concern for boarding care - "it sounds like you don't trust me so I can't trust you ". After departing and getting our files, I read through and there were inaccurate comments written about our interactions. Medication prices are astronomical and there is unwillingness to work with chewy. No after hours support for any emergent questions that may arise. I feel I made Bailey an honest efforts to work it out with this place, but it's a toxic environment. The front desk staff is great and they do a wonderful job.

He does not look like or smell like he's been bathed at all. I was told he was. His nails are still long and they said that they couldn't finish his head because he had too many knots. There are none. They're all under his chin that they didn't get and the bottoms of Pauze were not finished shaved. The further that did not get cut it still filthy. I will never bring him back there and then they charge more than they quoted the lucky I didn't go back to pay them and not my roommate because I'll tell you what they wouldn't have got paid. everything could be improved as for the answer from the owner I was only told one time to bring him to a vet and that was at the very end when we picked him up not multiple times everything you said on there was wrong. I just won't return that's all.

They were able to do the routine stuff however their ability for anything beyond yearly check up is severely lacking. We had 2 pets there, first a chocolate lab that was a senior, over 10 years old. They were alright, however Dr Dan saw him once and scared us so bad said he had some kind of heart issue and we may need to get him to an emergency vet ASAP, then came back and said he was fine. We did have him looked at an emergency vet and they could find nothing wrong with him. We let that slide, unprofessional and poor bedside manors but whatever. Then about a year later, just this past February, he was very lethargic and having issues, we called and they said it didn't seem like an emergency and they can get him in about 3 weeks. We decided to go to the emergency vet and in a matter of hours he was gone, I understand how busy it can get but the amount they just shrugged us off was disappointing for being with them for so long. Also he was on prescription food, they refused to give the prescription to Chewy and required we go through their own online store. We did, after he passed we got another delivery of his food, a few weeks later we called and asked about a refund in which they said they do not have a process to refund orders for pets who have passed. I explained to them how Chewy handles that situation, I spoke with Devon, he seemed nice however never actually called me back and gave me an answer one way or the other. I called him back again, he said he was "still working on it" and would get back to me by the end of the day. That was 3 days ago and no word at all. Mind you I was asking for a $130 refund after spending $3160 with them in a matter of 4 weeks. Not long after this our other dog, an 8 year old boxer mix needed a mole removed. They performed the operation and from there it went down hill quick. He developed a severe infection close to where the operation was, we brought him back, they did a quick test and gave us an antibiotic. He did not get better at all and kept getting worse, we went back there paid over $600 for additional tests were given a different antibiotic but still having issues. We called this morning to ask about a different form of medicine, maybe a compounded liquid. You would have thought I asked them to launch a space shuttle, nobody had any idea and "needed to consult the vet and get back to us". It took 3 hours to get a call back and they said try hiding the pill in a marshmallow, that was literally their only response. I expressed kindly that I feel my pet is not getting the care he needs and expressed my dissatisfaction that they seem to just just guessing at things and effectively throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. After I expressed that they then said they can send over a prescription to a pharmacy in southington but I was not able to get the prescription myself. They then followed up with an email giving me the pharmacy info and the info of other emergency vet offices and said we should consider a different vet. This was not an issue because I was already looking for a different one. Overall they seem like at best the practice is poorly managed, the doctors and also front desk associates seem to never actually know what's going on or provide any kind of useful information. Honestly the techs that work there are the only bright spot and must be what is keeping them in business. If you need just a basic checkup and "tech" appointment they are alright, if you need an actual vet / doctor appointment unfortunately they seem to not have the skill and ability to properly care for pets beyond the very basics. Overall a very expensive and disappointing experience and worst of all I believe both of my pets received poor care which created more issues and suffering for them.

She developed pancreatitis when she was 2 - 3 because we fed her wrong. After she stabilized, they worked with me to find recipes for nearly fat free meals that met her nutritional needs and kept her well. We credit her longevity to those meals with all natural food and their care of her. After Molly passed naturally, they made a donation in her name to a charity that supports getting better food to dogs.....perfect! They sent a lovely handwritten card too. I brought it up to Dr Laufer while Gracie was being seen for another concern. Dr Laufer told me it was only a blood blister and and picked away the dry scab. A few days later I brought Gracie back in for a visit because her tummy was still bleeding. Dr Smedley took photos and prescribed an antibiotic. I asked how long do I apply it for and her response was "till whenever." She told me to send in photos after a week. I did just that and was told the area looked better although I told her it's still bleeding. She told me to put a t-shirt so that off she bumps the area it would give it some protection. I was deeply concerned that Gracie was not in the best of care and changed to a practice which is not corporation owned and to a veterinarian whom I trusted. I took Gracie immediately to be seen by her new vet and just by looking at it he told me it is a mast cell tumor. I would like to know how two doctors in one practice had no idea what it was and how to treat it. This is tremendously concerning and I feel it's important for others to know this. My recommendation is to stay away from corporate owned veterinary practices. I adopted Gracie during Covid and my previous vet was not taking on new patients. Manchester Vet Clinic was the only one taking new patients. I later learned that they are corporate owned. My recommendation is to do your homework when looking for a veterinary practice because corporations are buying out small practices. You don't receive the kind of care, knowledge, warmth and professionalism.
