After reading all of the testimonials , especially about Joe , and since he came recommended to me…read more,by someone else who was using him I gave Joe a Try. Let me first say, I am an animal advocate , my entire life I have dedicated to the service of animals , I had no prior reason not to like Joe, THIS IS NOT A GET BACK POST ! THIS IS AN AWARENESS POST !
I trusted Joe with my dog Archimedes , the first time he came and lick him up , throws him in a van with a bunch of other dogs ,none have a dealt belt or are strapped in just a bunch of dogs sliding around and one very sad great Dane who was so afraid , when I ask about this Joe says he is terrified if any kind of travel. I should have taken my dog right then and there and left.
However I did not , I made a mistake that still haunts me to this to day. Joe was to have my dog for two days while away on business. Keep in mind this is someone who came recommended to me otherwise I would have been going through a different protocol before just leaving my dog in the care of someone I was not yet familiar with. The first day I was calling and messaging to see how my baby was adjusting, Joe did not respond to any of my messages or texts at all.
Text me very nervous but I tried to just give him the benefit of doubt assume that he was very busy getting all of his love and attention to all of the dogs.
However it was not until almost the pick up time that I am finally able to get ahold of him. By that point I had already contacted my friend who had recommended him I had sent him several voicemails and text messages I was very worried, especially because before I handed my dog over to him we did communicate specifically about contact that I would have while away I was assured I would have pictures updates etc, being very worried at that point in time for my dog I asked to see a picture of him , 45 minutes later which was now 5 minutes to the time he was supposed to drop him off I'm already at the spot waiting for him they are not there yet , finally get a picture in of my dog and it's just his face and he has the saddest face but the worst part of all was a huge black eye. I immediately start to question Joe about it he does not even respond to me ! Finally when he pulls up in his van , and hour and seven minutes late , as soon as he gets out of the van I am already outside of the van door trying to open it to get my dog I cannot see in through the side of the van there is no windows on the side no insulation for the dogs , Joe comes up to me does not smile does not greet me the first thing he says is do you have my payment. ? I start to ask him about my dog demanding that I want to see him ask him what happened to his eye he became very cavalier very dismissive he kept trying to change the subject he would not look me in the eye he was getting very nervous he could tell that I was honing and on him and it was physically making him nervous , all the while he has still not produced my dog to me yet , so I'm really becoming very anxious if he's even okay anymore and I am try to get the door open then I realize that's not getting anywhere and Joe is making no movement to open the door at this point I start calling my dogs name just to see if his voice was there if he was alive does his voice sound strong , weak Is he ok ? As soon as I call out my baby just bellows back , and it was heart wrenching. I just had to stop and come back to this because the thought of all of this again , my heart breaks for my dog and what that sick man did to him. When my dog cried back out to me my instincts kicked in I knew my suspicions were right , I looked at home said are you going to give me my dog please. He doesn't say anything and also makes no kive he is just stuck looking like he is thinking about something else entirely not even paying attention to e or what I'm saying , at this point however he runs to his side of the car i'm thinking ok he's gonna push a button to unlock the van door for me it something,but nope he jumps in the van and takes off with my dog !!
I can't not tell you the anguish we went through with this man
We called the police we went searching for his house the address he gave me where I did the drive by home check was not even his house
Finally I get his location from another client I bring the police over there he proceeds to concoct a story to the police telling them I owed him money and I was late picking up my dog clearly I had evidence stating otherwise I'm going to run out of space to type here so we get our dog back and he is clearly beaten. The black eye I saw in the picture was so much worse then what I thought. He was so bad Joe has gone through a great deal of money and time to keep this record hidden he is absolute monster what he did to my dog my dog was left scarred and broken and disabled for life if you look through his reviews I'm not the first person to speak out on this his own neighbors cry themselves to sleep hearing him abuse the dogs
