After booking, I received a message from a local team member saying they couldn't perform the service today and offered to reschedule. No problem -- I said yes, as long as we could still get the full package I booked. Then came the real issue: She followed up saying she didn't realize I needed a haircut -- even though I booked it through Petco's own system. After that, I was told no haircut appointments are available until June 27. That information should've been reviewed and disclosed before contacting me. Why offer an alternative date if you're not confirming whether you can actually fulfill the booked services? I then called Petco corporate to file a formal complaint. They couldn't reach a store manager or supervisor -- no one answered. This clearly isn't just a local glitch -- it's a systemic failure in how Petco handles scheduling, staffing, customer communication, and escalation protocols. Petco, if you're going to offer professional grooming services online, then: 1. Make sure your system reflects actual availability. 2. Review the customer's service request before calling them. 3. Don't offer new dates unless you've confirmed you can provide all requested services. 4. Ensure your store leadership and corporate support teams are actually reachable. I'm not just frustrated -- I'm concerned. If this is how customer service is handled for something as simple as a dog grooming, I'd hate to think how more serious issues are managed. Do better.

Always Home Pet Services is one of the best I've seen. I am a Registered Veterinary Technician and own a poodle. I do daily maintenance on his coat with…read morebrushing, trimming, cleaning etc. - point being is that I understand the high maintenance grooming required. Being said, this has happened twice...I am able to communicate well about what I want in person at drop off and on the phone, however, when I pick up my dog, there is a HUGE difference in communication. Both times, I had asked for his legs to have Pom-poms, and have pre-brushed his coat (this time I even shaved his face prior) and both times I have picked him up with his legs completely shaved. As a poodle owner, this is frustrating bc the coat has to be well maintained to grow it long for the Pom Poms. I have also been able to take him elsewhere in the past and have had no issues with this. At this business when I picked him up I was told excuses for why they didn't do it, they never called me to even discuss it, blamed me that their system couldnt send a message, AND they shaved the legs SHORT. Yet, I still paid, and tipped well. I'm just extremely frustrated with the lack of communication and wouldn't recommend for high maintenance grooming. Additionally, after leaving this nearly exact review on Facebook they were able to call/text/fb message without issue to ask me to remove it. They continue to reword, delete, and rewrite responses to that review prompting me to leave this one here. Again, simple communication at the time of the groom would've resolved this issue.
