We came here after a bad experience at another veterinary office left me wondering about their level of expertise. Happy Tails left no question in my mind about their veterinary knowledge, their commitment to excellent care, and their empathy. Gentle but thorough, describes the vets with whom we've dealt with here. All of my pets who have been seen here are the better for it. Dr. Theresa has been an excellent source of needed information and veterinary care. She also diagnosed our cat within seconds of examining her; the other vet we hap frequented earlier apparently did not look carefully at her mouth despite our description of the problem. All of the staff members are kind, helpful, and efficient. One feels valued and our pets seem to actually be noticed and appreciated. We have gone to Happy Tails ever since Dr Nasal opened her practice. We had two dogs and variety of kitties over the years. Dr Nasal always called our house the Kitty Hilton. She lovingly helped many of our fur babies cross over rainbow bridge. Her staff is fabulous; especially, Delaney who is a joyful, upbeat person and loving caregiver of all of the animals that come through their doors. I was referred by the Green Bay Humane Society. My rescue dog was going to establish care here. He is not my pet. He is my service dog. I'm disabled and he is my third rescue. I have rescued, trained and handled of this exceptional breed of dog too. They are instinctively ideal for my disabilities. My disabilities however have me dependent upon other people, places and things. That I am powerless over. When these things forced me to reschedule my initial exam twice. The third time I had caregivers in my home just leaving at the start time of my appointment. I phoned to explain. I could not. I was told will you be here in 5 minutes? I said I needed to reschedule. I was told I was now being charged $25 for not making the appointment. I was not told this before rescheduling the last appointment. I was then told if I didn't make the next appointment it would be $65 for missing the appointment. That's the cost I will be paying for my appointment. When I come back. Come back? People who take advantage of others difficulty is pathetic. Businesses taking money from a disabled person, who was denied her service dog civil rights for transportation to their vet appointment. And late working with caseworkers to resolve the issue and arrange family help with transportation. Then being treated punitively and charged $25. (I live fifteen minutes from the clinic.) I called them. I was not told anything about being charged a fee until after I called to say I was on my way. I feel I have been discriminated against by my insurance for not providing transportation. I feel I have been treated abhorrently, punitively and without compassion and respect for my persistence and responsibility for my service dog's health by HAPPY TAILS VET CLINIC. I understand having policies regarding canceling or no shows. I however, am dependent upon medical transportation to go everywhere! I can no longer drive. I can not afford to be charged for things I am powerless over. I can not control medical appointments that run long throwing off our schedule. We cannot control the schedules of healthcare professionals and providers. Bottom line: As a disabled person on disability low income with a service dog, this clinic discriminated against me, charged me with untold costs before being seen punitively, and denied my use of the $0.01 initial evaluation exam from the Humane Society's adoption program, without being told beforehand. Happy Tails showed this disabled person and her service dog the way to another provider from poor treatment and discrimination. I would suggest any other disabled person do the same. read more

My cat is a bit moody, but I have never had her hiss and growl at the vet or vet assistant. the vet assistant wrapped her in a towel to stop her from scratching, which I understood, but when my cat ran back into the kennel, the vet assistant literally dumped her out. my poor car hissed and growled the entire time and kept hissing and growling until I got her back to the car. I should have intervened. we got home and my cat is now limping. she has never limped in her 14 years and I am utterly pissed off. I will never go back here and hope if you do, you are assertive enough to stop the vet assistant from hurting your cat, or dog or whatever loved one you bring in. read more

They took good care of my furbabies but I was quoted 255.00 for the adolescent package and that was vaccines and neuter. Well today nope it only gives a 10% discount towards neuter of a cat.....255 dollars for 6 vaccines and a stool sample fucking outrageous.... Totally lied to me. My wife and I are traveling northern Wi and our dog became ill. I started looking for a place to take her at 5a in the morning when I realized she wasn't better overnight. I called Happy Trails because of a referral from a local overnight emergency hospital that was about to close for the morning. I called and left a message stating what was going on a referral and hoping that someone would call me right away at 7:30 when they opened. We decided to drive from Brule to Superior in hopes if I walked in the door, we would already be there ready to be seen. I walked into the practice, and it was busy. A lady from the back desk said she would take the next person. I walked about and introduced myself and said I left a message. She said "oh yea, I have it right here. We aren't taking any new clients." I wasn't looking to become a long term client. I had a sick dog. A sick dog that is terminal. I mentioned that fact on my phone message. She didn't have the curtesy to even call me back to tell me they weren't willing to help. So sad the communication. All I was looking for was a call back. read more

In December of 2021, I had brought both our Chihuahua/Patterdale Terrier and our pure bred French bulldog to Dr.Nasal for a neutering operation at 7 A.M. on 12/12/2021. Dr. Nasal stated both dogs would be ready to be picked up around 4 - 4:30 P.M. Around 10:30 A.M, my 17 yr old daughter received a call our Patterdale Terrier was ready to be picked up, but our French bulldog was dead. Dr. Nasal stated our French bulldog was vomiting prior to the surgery, so she thought maybe it had something to do with the anesthesia. Dr. Nasal went on to explain to my daughter, she had changed the anesthesia to a lighter dosage, assuming he seemed fine, so she decided to continue (without consulting us at all). His vomiting prior to procedure should have been an IMMEDIATE red flag and the procedure should have been stopped and she should have contacted us right away. She went on to use the SAME excuse as seen in other reviews - stating that "he could have had underlying conditions"; however, he had recently been under anesthesia for an eye surgery a year prior, with NO issues and he had just had a physical roughly two months prior (with a different vet since we had recently moved back from Florida). She went on to state that during the surgery, his heart rate began to drop, and Dr. Nasal had stopped the procedure, waited for his heart rate to stabilize before continuing the procedure, and shortly after that, he had flat lined. I later found out from viable sources WITHIN the clinic, that Dr. Nasal had been warned by many of her staff members, NOT TO perform the surgery. She had also been warned of his heart rate dropping and Dr. Nasal continued with the procedure, ignoring the advice from her colleagues, until he had flat lined. Rather than calling an adult, she had called my daughter who is 17, even though she had my direct number to tell her about the loss of her dog. We were still charged for many of the fees for his surgery and Dr. Nasal attempted to make it okay by giving us "lower prices" for the surgery. Dr. Nasal did state she tried to resuscitate him, but all efforts had failed. A day later, I tried to call to speak with Dr. Nasal to ask questions, I was told by her colleagues it was likely I would not get a call back and was in fact recommended to find a new vet because they, themselves do not even bring their own pets to her. She does not care for her clients, and this is clear in many of the reviews I have heard and read. It speaks VOLUMES when your own employees advise against bringing dogs to the facility they work for. I would also like to add that the French bulldog was 5 yrs. old and our Patterdale Terrier was about 8 almost 9 yrs. old. Many red flags had popped up that SHOULD HAVE been taken into consideration and if our Frenchie had been throwing up pre-op, he should have never been put under anesthesia. Frenchies are a delicate breed with anesthesia and that is well known, so if you don't have the experience or patience then she should NOT be performing any type of surgery. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE. read more

I had recently taken my four month old kitten Patches into the Happy Tails Vet Clinic! What was suppose to be a routine normal spay was not. Dr. Beth Nasal was spaying my kitten when she removed one ovary and had went to remove the other she had dropped and lost the other ovary!! She then had to make the incisions bigger to try to find the ovary, which she could not do. Dr. Nasal then had to end the spaying do the risk of keeping Patches under the anesthetic too long making a risk for to pass away. She then stitched up Patches and left the dropped and lost ovary inside of her. When she had stitched up Patches she stitched her up like a TEDDY BEAR. Her stitches were all gapped and a mess. When I got to take Patches home she had a gap on her belly leaking and oozing and she never gave her pain medicine or anything to put on it for her. When I had taken Patches back to get her looked at the vets nurses there could not get Patches out of her kennel they took her kennel tipped it upside down causing Patches (sore, open, half assed stitched job) belly to rub on the bottom of her kennel, and they had the nerve to look at me like myself or Patches had tore her stitches if they were stitched right they would not have caused this to happen to her, would not have caused her to get a infection The carelessness, the ignorance, the unjustified inhumane way they did her spaying and stitching she would not have to ware her cone, her stitches or have, her infection, or have to be on a antibiotic. She was spayed November 18, two weeks later she is still suffering because of there carelessness. DONT TAKE YOUR KITTEN OR CAT HERE!!!! HAPPY TAILS VET CLINIC SHOULD BE CALLED SAD TAILS read more

Dr. Dan and the Happy Tails crew are amazing. We recently had to face the harsh reality that our cat, Tank, was gravely ill. Dr. Dan and the crew did everything they could to make sure we knew all of our options and kept us well appraised of Tank's condition. Dr. Dan personally called me late at night to keep me updated on his status. When we were faced with the awful choice to sent him to sleep, the staff were there to comfort us. They gave us a room to spend some final alone time with our little boy and mourned with us as Dr. Dan sent him gently on his way. Since then they've been amazing helping us make sure our other boy, Growler, isn't similarly affected despite having the same illness and have helped us warmly welcome a new kitten, Toast, into our lives. This whole process was devastating for us, but the staff at Happy Tails were so kind and attentive and I know that the process would have done so much more damage emotionally if they hadn't been the loving and guiding hands there for us when we needed them. read more

We have been taking our dog to Dr. Nasal and Dr. Dan at Happy Tails for over 5 years now and would never go anywhere else. They are very flexible with scheduling (even have weekend appointments) and have always been able to set something up extremely quickly if there is a concern outside of our annual appointments. Pricing is fair and there is never a push to sell products or services that we don't need. The staff has a great attitude and they seem to truly enjoy the work that they do.
