I bought a blue, 44long x22 deep general tool chest with 13 drawers. When you measure it at the top, it is 42 inches long, why? The box (crate) is printed for its weight says 100 + pounds. Tired picking it up and had a problem. Looked it up on the website found that shipping weight is 338 pounds. Took me a long time, getting it off my pickup truck, by myself.

Wow. Just wow. For more than 10 years my wife and I had trouble with our antique door knobs on our…read morefront door. The set screwa were too short and you can imagine the issues with the knobs pulling off. I tried lots of solutions including loctite blue which helped the screwa stay in placew, which helped, but never addressed the issue that the sets screws were simply too short (but we would have to get in a time machine to the 1940s to complain to the manufacturer) * A national hardware store had test openings that showed the screws were sized "1/4 - 20" but they didn't have the actual screws and the guy that was helping me said no one did * The owner of a mom and pop hardware store told me that longer set screws did not exist at all and that I needed to look at an antique store. He wouldn't even check * Then I went to Little Hardware at a Friend's suggestion.. I walked in and the guy who helped me introduced himself and shook my hand. He measured the set screw I had as "1/4 - 20" just like you he big retailer. He then immediately found matching sets screws that were longer (see photo). I had to buy a hex tool to entire I could connect the 4 screws on both knobs. The entire purchase was $15 but I would have paid a lot more to get these knobs right. And now, for the first time since we bought our old house I feel confident in our old door knobs Thank you Little Hardware -- I'm a customer for life!

Look no further, Birmingham DIYers. The Habitat Restore is a depository for leftover, unwanted, or found building materials that are bargain priced for YOU (and me too). Bonus: the proceeds benefit an incredible organization that helps build houses for those who truly need and deserve them: Habitat for Humanity of Birmingham. Do yourself and your community a favor - donate any leftover building materials you have after a remodel or addition or head to Restore after a Pinterest binge has you itching to build your own headboard out of doors, fence posts, or old lightbulbs (hey, I don't judge!). The staff are incredibly friendly, the store organized and clean, and the prices, well, let's just say you won't find this stuff much cheaper anywhere else that is in good shape. Note to self: they even sell paint, so no matter what your project is, check out the wares at this Irondale gem to feel good while getting some bang for your buck. Happy crafting!
