Worst place to buy tools. I bought a auger cause we had to do a fence job. We opened the auger bought 2 cycle oil as needed to mix with fuel. We started doing the holes and noticed the auger was leaking fuel from on of the lines. We blew out the fuel and took it back. They said yes it's defective but we not restocking it. But they still charged me a restocking fee of $33 dollars. Which is crazy cause the machine was defective and they were throwing it on back not stocking it. They said can get another one when they get more. But I already went across the street to Lowe's so we don't go through the same situation with another one. So basically I lost out on $33 dollars for the restocking fee and lost out on time due to the machine being defective. I head few other stories about this harbor freight on Colfax. Its ridiculous. They ripping people off. I will never shop there again read more

Recent items for your urban bug out bag and the prices are just right. Seriously, you can find every item you need plus the bag. From heavy duty tarps to cordage it's all here. Granted it's not top of the line, but it will get the job done. As far as tools go, it's cheap. If you're serious about tools then the only thing I'd recommend are their air tools, mechanic's tool boxes, and hydraulic jacks (daytona). I bought a electric generator here last summer. The first time I used it the generator quit working after 3 hours. I went back 3 times for someone to help me with the generator. The 3rd time I went the manager named Tim helped me out and fixed the generator and got it working again. Tim went out of his normal duties to make sure I left satisfied. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today there were the usual 2 long lines. One cashier says she's out of here. Telling us in her line who were patiently waiting in line to go to the other line. People complained, Manager hid in office while everyone got into the only other line. After 5 minutes the cashier who told people she was leaving then decided to open her lane up again. I will never patron Harbor Freight Tools again. The tools are cheap, made in China and they lack basic customer service. They could take a lesson from any fast food restaurant. read more

Harbor Freight has cheap prices but then you get what you pay for. I needed a Drain snake, and spent almost an hour walking around looking at things that are cool to buy but that I really don't need due to relocating soon. Purchased a generator today and talked extensively with the store employee who verbally told us that we could return it "for any reason, no questions asked" within 90 days. We got it home and decided that it was too noisy so my husband returned it the same day and we were charged a $100.00 restocking fee!! I ordered a blue ICON 56" topchest and 56" rolling cart to go along with it, nearly $4000 worth. After waiting four weeks for my box to arrive I received a 73" red top locker and the top chest instead. When I first called customer service I was told there was nothing they could do. After calling several times I still received no answers regarding getting the correct box nor getting a refund. I called a week later believing that someone would contact me like they had said only to find that they had no idea about what is happening with my order. I love shopping at Harbor Freight. Thee prices are wonderfully affordable and their products quality for the average home improvement weekend warrior. Most of us don't need a Makita or DeWalt for home repairs. The wife and I are remodeling the house and her contractor father highly recommended Harbor Freight for many of the tools we've used. The staff here is very customer focused. One associate spent 20 minutes walking through nail guns and air compressors. And there was no pressure. I can't emphasize just how refreshing that is to experience. We bought hundreds of dollars of equipment and really appreciate his help. I've been going there since they opened. Yes, people make mistakes, like not knowing the guarantee ON EVERY SINGLE THING THEY SELL, but you as a customer should look it up and have it on hand before going in, just like every other store you visit. I've never had any issues with getting any help here. Sometimes you have to find someone, but, unless they are getting a purchase for another customer, they drop whatever they were doing to help. Looks like the stores in the Denver area are trying to make the layout the same in each store, which will help those of us who visit more than one. read more

Tried to return a 6" C-clamp under the lifetime warranty at the Colfax location yesterday. The clerk asked the manager if clamps were included under the lifetime warranty and he said no. HE WAS WRONG. A quick search on harborfreight.com proves that their C-clamps carry the lifetime warranty that applies to all hand tools. Now I have to print out the proof and go back to get my clamp replaced, wasting me time and gas. I'll be doing my shopping at the store on Sheridan in Arvada from now on, even though the Colfax location is more convenient for me, because thanks to a manager who doesn't know his own store's policies, the customer service at the Colfax location is seriously lacking. read more

Friendly staff, well lit store and they more or less keep the same items located in the same place so they are easy to find. I purchased a generator and it stopped working. I presented my receipt and the exchange was painless. Everything is made in China but like Taiwan the quality is improving. Some items are still lacking in quality and you can find a few items less expensive at the big box boys but overall the tools last for average homeowners. The truck bed crane has saved my back many times. The two star guy DB doesn't like anything so don't go by him. read more
