A HUGE shout out and MASSIVE thank you to Zack, Shane and Theresa for helping me with an online order that didn't go through. This is a very long story, but in short... I had ordered $4,700 worth of flooring and my payment wasn't going through. The guy I spoke with on the 800 number just wanted to cancel and reorder the flooring, but the flooring was no longer on sale and the coupon I used wouldn't be valid either. At the beginning of the summer I purchased a pallet of retaining wall stone to add on, and repair an existing wall. I had to order these online to match the existing stone as these were not carried in the stores. After installing the 36 stones, I ended up needing more. Before ordering another pallet I went to the store and explained what I needed to the customer service desk. I explained that I would need to return several of the unused brick if I bought an entire pallet. I was ensured this could be done, but that there would likely be a 15% restocking fee. If this could not be done I was going to go another route and use different bricks in the in ground installation. I ordered the bricks, and installed what was needed. I loaded the bricks up and returned them to the store. I worked with Ken in customer service (who I had originally worked with, and was told I could return unused bricks). He was not able to return the bricks. His manager was brought in to explain to me that since the pallet was ordered as a quantity of 1 she could not return anything other than a full pallet. Ken also parroted this statement as if we had not discussed this before. Ultimately, I was told there was 'nothing they could do'. In actuality they could have done some simple math and did what was right by honoring what their employees told me. They did decide not to back their employees work and not return the bricks. The pallet cost $754.14 for 36 bricks. Simple rudimentary math shows us that the bricks cost a little under $21 a piece. Five bricks at $21 comes out to $105. If you wanted to charge the 'restocking fee' of 15% that puts our refund down to say $89. I would have taken even $85 and called it a day. I also had other building supplies I needed that day. After this interaction, I took my business to Jordan's Lumber where I spent a little over $200. In the past 5 years I have been loyal to this Home Depot. I'm confident with all of my home repairs and projects I have spent well over $15,000 at this store in that time. Jordan's Lumber will now be my primary supply store with supplemental items coming from Lowes, and Ace. Its sad to leave this store as I have developed friendly relationships with many of the associated there. I've also had positive experiences in the past with the other customer service associates at this store. read more

The management grossly mis-handled a simple mistake they made in honoring a gift card. The cashier accidentally ruined the gift card. We had to go to customer service to get the card replaced. The process took nearly two months to get the card replaced. Every time they were contacted (about every two weeks) their assistant manager and/or the store manager would provide excuse after excuse for not providing a new card, or just refund the money on the card. I had finally started a small claims court action since the amount was over $500. They were in no hurry to fix the problem they created. How is that acceptable??? I will never go back after this experience. read more

Home Depot custom bathroom vanity nightmare. We are experienced in home renovation projects and have used Home Depot for custom cabinets on prior projects. This main bathroom vanity went completely wrong due to improper measurements by Home Depot, poor construction by Thomasville, and an unnecessary seam on the countertop by Front Range Stone. I have left them five messages and have never received a call back or any updates. I tried to be patient with them, but I've given up. Buyer beware. Do not believe the line of "if anything goes wrong with your purchase, it'll be repaired or replaced, no questions asked!" Home Depot protection plans appear to be a scam. If you ever need to "use" it you will be met with apathy and incompetence. My family spent $1,000.00, between the appliance and protection plan (LG washer). We have now spent almost 3 months without a functioning washer. Adding up all the missed days of work and hours on the phone, the extra money spent to "protect" this product has been clearly waisted. I would not recommend purchasing an appliance from this location. I purchased an appliance, install, and removal / disposal of my old appliance from this location. Installers were later than planned, refused to install appliance for reasons never mentioned or discussed with the sale associate who sold me the item. They also did not remove my old appliance, nor haul it away. Installers again refused to take the new appliance back. I called to complain and spoke to the sales associate who did not know what to do. Her manager didn't either. Her managers manager told me to check my attitude when I spoke w her. This person also posed as the store manager when we spoke. Overall a circus. They ended up giving me a warranty. I had to call a handy man to do the install... Great place to find just about anything. Most of the salespeople are friendly, able & more than willing to help totally incompetent craft people like me with projects. If need be they will usually offer great suggestions that can be of help. As an all thumbs single woman I couldn't manage without Home Depot. I've relied on this store for the 5 years we've been homeowners in the nearby foothills. You know how it is once you get to know the layout of a big box or grocery or department story, that's a strong pull and you hope they don't screw up so badly you'll have to move on. That's never happened with this store despite the staff turning over almost completely (probably a few times). One area where the staff is consistent is the paint department, the two ladies and one man that are the regulars there are helpful, competent - and always give my dog treats. They just did a paint match for me and it's damn near perfect. The paint was for the sprayer I rented, my first time with the rental department and while it wasn't exactly greased lightning, the gentleman behind the counter eventually got a working sprayer together for me and sent me on my way, with adequate instructions to operate the unit. Everything worked as promised and when I returned the unit, extra clean cause, that's how I roll - the young man gave me 15% off and thanked me for the number I'd done on it. I appreciated the thank you much more than the savings. You can wander and not find help, sure. But generally you'll get someone and the service will be top notch, at least in my experience. We've been a long time and profitable customer (over $20K spent in last couple years as we worked through a bunch of home renovation projects), but after the terrible experience we had with a flooring install we are moving to Lowe's. We purchased the flooring and got the estimate through Home Depot, and the install was subcontracted to company called Hom Solutions. This company has been an absolute nightmare to work with. Firstly they were around $2K over budget because they said that the estimator from Home Depot didn't account for the amount of filler they needed to put carpet in in our basement. Secondly they didn't even do the entire project that we had agreed with Home Depot, there was an entire landing at the base of our stairs which they did not complete. Again they blamed this on Home Depot saying the estimator didn't understand the amount of work needed to do it and price it correctly. Thirdly, the workmanship was shoddy, the carpet is already coming loose in some sections and has hang tags coming off of it. Fourthly, they damage one of our recliners while moving it, it's a pretty expensive chair and they offered us $279 for the damage, that's barely enough to cover the cost of disposal let alone replacing the chair. I've been fighting with them since February to get it fixed and even tried pulling Home Depot in but it's been no use. Home Depot self-insures the potential damage from subcontractors apparently and the Sedgewick claims adjustor we were working with was not helpful at all. We will never be using Home Depot again for any of our home project, and if you run across Hom Solutions aside from Home Depot run the other way as fast as you can. If you need flooring or carpeting in the Denver/Golden area I highly recommend FH Flooring (https://www.fhflooring.com/). We called them in to do the flooring on our stairs, upper floors, and the portion of our basement that Hom Solutions never did, (even though it was included in our contract with Home Depot) and they were phenomenal. Much better workmanship, and they are a pleasure to work with. They are so good we are brining them back for other projects. read more

Not a big fan of this location. I visited them yesterday looking to match a paint color and pick up a few supplies. The woman in paint, for lack of a better term, spoke to me like I was an idiot because I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject. She seemed impatient and treated me like a bit of a nuisance. While I was waiting for the paint, I made my way around the store to pick up some other supplies. I couldn't find an item I was looking for, and asked a gentleman, who was stocking items, where I might be able to find it. Here is the interaction: Me: "Excuse me, sir." Him: No response. I thought he may not have heard me, so I repeated myself: "Excuse me, sir?" His response, without looking at me: "Yeah?" "Can you tell me where Command hooks are?" "It's either 17 or 18. Can't remember which." "OK. Thank you." I normally go to the Home Depot at I-70 and Wadsworth. The service there is typically great. I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble, but the service at this location needs improvement. It should be pointed out that the girl at the self check-out, and the staff at the Returns section, were all very nice. read more

Needed to purchase wall finish 4x8 FRP for a home project. Needed about 30 sheets, the majority was in overhead storage and we needed someone to get them down. Took 15 minute to find a forklift operator, when he came back it was a major inconvenience for him to do. He then offered a 50% discount on the damaged material that was at floor level. I told him I needed full sheets not partial sheets that I would have to cut down. He muttered "well just trying to save the customer some money" . He moved down the 50 piece pallet and put it on a cart. Walked away and left us to go through the pallet and find that 10 of the 50 were acceptable. 40 were already damaged!!!!! I am an electrical contractor doing a home project, I cannot believe this guy would treat a customer this way. I understand having a bad day, but this was one issue after another. He must also be a department head or lead person...he was able to offer 50% off of items. HOME DEPOT you have fallen a long way. Of the West Denver Metro area stores, what was once my most favorite has now become my least. This location has been in steady decline for 3 years now. They hire high school kids with no manners or interest in professionalism. They still have a few good employees but it's evident the new employees are either receiving no training or failing to apply anything that they've learned. Go to the returns counter here and you will literally see 5 employees moping around while you stand alone in line waiting for assistance. Several times, I've had to speak up based on the rude behavior in this store and if it's making me a worse person shopping here, I just assume go to other locations whenever possible. Home Depot is revered for its customer service, but you won't find that level of quality here. I'd go so far as to say I prefer some Lowe's locations over this store. read more

Ordered a stove two weeks ago was supposed to have it delivered last week. It came but the drivers wanted to leave it crated and said we didn't have to sign saying it was received in good condition and to call if there was a problem. We opened it a few hours later and found it was VERY damaged. We called immediately and spoke to the woman in the appliance department and were loudly chastised for not checking it. I then got a call saying it wasn't available and I would have to wait an additional few days. That woman also criticized us saying that's why we have you sign the contract saying it wasn't damaged. She couldn't understand that we didn't sign it. Then I spoke to the store manager and he too criticized me for trusting the drivers. Apparently the customer can do no right in their eyes. I would give zero stars if possible. We will not be going back there as I've had several bad experiences in a row now. They have no concept of customer service. read more

I've had pretty recent experience with Home Depot. I must say, they have inspired me to do more DIYs! I recently decided to start an herb garden. I would say that before three weeks ago, I have a totally black thumb! But, with some coaching from Fred in the gardening department, I've got some mad skills. They sell seeds and starter plants. I have purchased purple basil, parsley, german thyme, oregano, pineapple sage, rosemary, spear mint, and chocolate mint. I started out with the basil plant but couldn't have been happier when the rest of the plants went on sale (5 plants for $10!). When I was there today, I noticed that they have free DIY classes here. I wish I had known about that a little earlier! I'm missing the "Do it Herb-self" class because I'll be out of town next weekend. That have other things from grills to pavement to other things I don't even know what they mean! Also, for the ladies moving out there, they sell garment boxes. Sounds a little strange, right? But, these are like the best invention ever. It's a reinforced cardboard box with a metal bar through the top to hang your beautiful clothes on! This is a review of the Assistant Manager, Cory (I hope I spelled his name correctly). I had two new over-the-range GE microwaves delivered to my house within a matter of weeks, both of which were defective. A GE technician was even dispatched to my house to confirm the defect -- a safety issue. GE Service (an oxymoron) was called to resolve the matter and advocate for me, the consumer, but all they did was to insist we get another GE tech to come out. Enough's enough. I wanted that microwave out of the house before it could start on its own and possibly start a fire. Before I could get credit on this microwave and purchase another, Home Depot would have to have the microwave in their possession. Not an unfair request, but I'm handicapped and couldn't take it out or bring it in. I was going in circles with the salesperson, so I called and asked for the store manager. That's where Cory came in. He took action. He dispatched two employees to my house to take the microwave out and bring it back to the store so I could get my credit. These two employees used a blanket to cover the stove so it wouldn't get scratched when removing it (more than the installers ever did), and were in and out in 15 minutes. If it weren't for Cory's action, I might still have the microwave in my house, no credit, and wondering how I could afford to purchase another. Thanks, Cory, for your actions. read more

This is your typical cookie cutter home depot. Everything you can expect when going into a home depot. However this location in particular really blew me away with their customer service. I interacted with several employees and every one of them went above and beyond. They helped me with special pricing and easily locating supplies. I really loved how everyone seemed pretty interested in what project I was doing. When I told them they were more than willing to help me out with some tips and even give me a couple lessons in caulking. It sounds silly but they built up my confidence with a task I was trying for the first time and got me excited to go home and get to work. I will absolutely be returning again for my next project needs. read more

In a matter of 10 minutes we had everything set and ready to go. He also said he would either call this afternoon or 1st thing tomorrow to let me know an approximate time I could expect my delivery.
