He was in the middle of leading me to another item and decided to help another customer instead of completing the interaction with me. Apparently I didn't matter as much as the other customer that he stopped helping me to help. I wonder why. Needless to say that I won't be patronizing this local business anymore. I have visited this particular Ace 3 times within a week (including calling them once) and have been met with the nicest, most helpful individuals. At Home Depot and Lowe's, I can NEVER FIND anyone to help me. In addition to their super friendly employees, Ace has items IN STOCK that Home Depot and Lowe's never do. Literally, ANYTHING I want is out of stock OR not even carried at the Pearland HD. The one small issue I had recently was that I was recommended a product by an employee that ended up NOT being the right product for my project. I ended up calling the particular product helpline and they issued me a full refund on the wrong product and told me what I needed. Coincidentally, ACE carried the right product I needed since HD was, big surprise, OUT OF STOCK. %#+* As for prices, I don't know how all things are across the board but for my particular needs recently, they seemed somewhat to be comparable to the big box stores. BUT- for one particular item, I checked on Amazon and Ace (since Home Depot didn't carry it... WTF). The item was $2 more at Ace. (See included picture). So, despite a possible price increase on certain items, I'll still shop here over HD. Friendly staff, in stock products. Thumbs up. Please build an ACE store in Shadow Creek. I don't like driving across town to come here.

I was greeted at the front by a friendly lady who guided me to what I was looking for. She went above and beyond with explaining the different types of pesticides and her personal experiences and recommended methods of application (scatter the boric acid around instead of a straight line for roaches, which I didn't know!). It was a lot of fun browsing the store because there was so much to take in. The layout is like an antique store but for hardware, from plumbing to doorknobs to cleaning supplies, they had just about everything. I had an extremely great experience at Southland and will be back! And do not fret about parking, there is a large - by Montrose standards - parking lot in the back.

During the spring season, they have a small selection of plants. Populars in front of the store and Texas natives in the back. I used to shop here daily after work. Everyone who works here is so sweet and knowledgeable. Joanna who usually waters the plants, she is personable. Every time I'd come, we'd spend a few moments sharing our plant knowledge. I've bought a lot of TX natives. I even came here to landscape the yard with the variety of coleus, caladiums, variegated oregano, flowering plants, and salvia. I really like that they have a garden in the back displaying all the natives that is for sale. I've recommended this nursery to a few of my older customers. Especially the ones who were interested in growing a pollinator garden.

So, another citizen recommended Patco. I called and talked to Bill, who assured me that Cheyanne could do the job, and boy did she ever!!! She came up with the PERFECT match!! I've only stained the door framing so far, but the stain match is beyond perfect. I'm so glad that I rediscovered this store. The installers, who work for Embry, Joseph and his team, were spectacular a 10 for sure! But there were snags, all originating from Kraftmaid, which created delays. We are not exactly 'finished yet, but overall we really like the transformation in our utility room. Hats off to Lowe's for providing this type of service, to Ruby giving us all the time required to get it right, and Joseph for making sure it was properly installed, and being honest about defects and how to address those!

Complaint Against Lowe's…read more On May 29, 2026, I placed Order #300902150262791005 with Lowe's for a vacuum and an outdoor welcome mat. The Lowe's website showed the welcome mat as in stock. When the order was delivered, I received no notification, knock, or doorbell alert, and I later discovered that Lowe's had delivered the wrong item. On May 30, 2026, at approximately 10:00 AM, I contacted Lowe's Customer Care and spoke with Diane. She verified that I received the incorrect item, refunded the gift card used for the purchase, and assisted me with placing a replacement order, Order #300906150261343706. During the call, she confirmed that the Pearland, Texas store had the item in stock and advised that four units were available. I received an order confirmation showing the replacement order had been successfully placed. Approximately 30 minutes later, Lowe's canceled the replacement order, stating the item was unavailable. This directly contradicted the inventory information provided during the call. I also discovered that the gift card used for the replacement order was not fully refunded. When I contacted Lowe's again, I was told a replacement gift card would need to be mailed to me and that I would have to pay again if I still wanted the item, despite the issue resulting from Lowe's errors. When I requested assistance, I was told no other solution was available. I asked to speak with a manager but was instead connected to a supervisor who advised that I could not speak with a manager by phone, obtain a manager's email address, or receive corporate contact information. I informed Lowe's that I am disabled and rely heavily on deliveries. Despite explaining my circumstances, no meaningful accommodation or effort was made to resolve the problems caused by Lowe's mistakes. I am a longtime Lowe's customer, and my complaint is not simply about a welcome mat. It concerns receiving the wrong item, conflicting inventory information, an incomplete refund, being asked to spend additional money to correct Lowe's errors, being denied access to management, and receiving no meaningful assistance. I am requesting: (1) immediate resolution of the missing gift card refund; (2) reimbursement of any funds being withheld due to Lowe's errors; (3) review of the customer service and escalation process; and (4) a reasonable resolution regarding the item Lowe's repeatedly confirmed was available but failed to provide.

Home Depot is one of my dad's go to hardware stores so we decided to check them out first. We found a fridge we liked and set a delivery date. This is when everything went down hill. First delivery attempt. The fridge arrived and when it was unboxed, they noticed a large dent in the front of the fridge. Sent it back. Second delivery attempt. Snowpocalypse hit Houston so delivery got cancelled. Getting it rescheduled was a headache and took another week. Third delivery attempt. Fridge arrived. Delivery person was complaining already when he walked in that they were busy and that they would need to remove the front door which is normal process. When he attempted to remove old fridge, he barely put pressure on the water valve on the wall and said it was loose and we needed to call a plumber to get it replaced. They left. My dad decided to check it himself and lo and behold it turned without any problem and valve was not loose. Home depot said they would not send the same people and apologized. Fourth delivery attempt. Fridge arrived. Different driver. Fridge was dented again. They blame the warehouse. Sent it back. They promised 25 percent back on the purchase. Fifth delivery attempt. Same idiot driver from delivery attempt three. He asked if we did the plumbing work and my dad said it didn't need to be done. Home depot agreed. He said we are not getting the fridge and he left. We talked to customer service and they said they would refund even more but at this point we were done with them. My dad does alot of business with Home Depot but this left a very poor taste in our mouth. We went to Lowes and got the same fridge for quite a bite cheaper. They delivered the next day with no complaints about the door. Their standard process is to change the valve anyways at no extra charge even though it didn't need to be changed according to the Lowe's delivery people. They saw the original valve and saw no problem with it. As far as appliances go, we will stay clear of Home Depot from now on. Not worth the hassle.
