This is one of two Harbor Freight locations I have been in Tucson. Of the two, this is my least favorite. The place is very small, unkempt, and doesn't have the same variety of products as the location on Oracle. If I weren't already a fan of Harbor Freight, I would have written it off. However, the tools they use are pretty good for people who do not do a lot of work around the house, and the price can't be beat, since they come with a lifetime warranty where you can exchange any tool set for a similar one with no questions asked. The customer service here is spotty. As I browsed the shelves, I saw two people on the floor doing nothing but gossiping, rather than stopping to help confused customers like myself. Some of the other people on the floor were great though, and very helpful. read more

This is my goto Harbor Freight when I want to pick up something I see in the ad. This is not a big store, so they can be out of items. The quality of their products can be hit and miss - most of the time ok. Prices are excellent - this can be hit and miss also - sometimes you get what you pay for and they don't last too long before they break. I have a few products that I go for such as tarps, light strings, yard items, some light tools that are usually ok. Given the wide variation in quality - I'm giving this a 3 out of 5. read more

I usually don't write reviews on non-eating establishments, but its a new year, so why not make a resolution on the fly to review a few other places in town, and why not start with Harbor Freight. My wife hates this place. But I can spend an hour wandering around, thinking "oh I need that" (I really don't). And it goes in my basket anyway. Why? Cuz it's cheap! Sometimes you get what you pay for. As they say, don't buy pacemakers or defibrillators at Harbor Freight. But you can find deals on cheap gloves, decent sockets and wrench sets, and other stuff that you will use once in a while. Bring coupons, and if you need help, the staff is usually around to help you find something. Five stars, because it's fun to walk around and buy cheap tools. read more

These guys are the reason online sales will eventually dominate and take over in-person retail sales. Grabbed a ticket to buy an item that, if inventory were done correctly, would have not been available and the display would have been put away. Instead, kid in the front told me they were sold out and could not sell the display. Ordered on Amazon prime for 30 dollars cheaper and will get it shortly. Done with this place until they can get a little more organized. This is 2014. You need to compete. Keep your inventory up to date. Sell the display if you have to. Not the best version of Harbor Freight I've ever been to. All us guys know we all like to wander the isles looking for things we don't really need. There are a lot of blank spots at this particular store. I've been here a couple of times and the last time it was pure nuts. I've never seen so many people and there wasn't anything special going on. I couldn't even get a cart to push around. After I picked up a few things I went to the shortest register... guy said he was closed. All these people and they only had a couple of registers open... but I finally got to the register and checked out. I'm going to try another store in a day or so and I hope I don't have to come back to this store again. read more

My absolutely favorite tool store in Tucson. The employees are always very helpful and friendly the management have no problem jumping in to help when needed and the store is always clean and tidy. The only complaint I have is it's so close to walmart I usually end up stopping in there also. read more

Harbor Freight has an insiders club I can join for only 29.95 for a year or $44 for two years. If I join tonight I can get tomorrow's special parking lot sale prices. Let me do the math . Tonight the tool is on sale for 69.99. Tomorrow the sale price is 84.99 so if I pay 29.99 and join the insiders club tonight I can pay $15 more for the tool plus the 30 for the insiders club so I can pay $45 more than the prices tonight with the insiders club . I'm not sure if this is an honest mistake or intentional ripoff but I'm guessing the former. read more

If you don't have the skrilla for high-end tools with the high price tags, then this is your place. I would not buy tools here if I were a professional mechanic or trade worker because the quality is just not there. It's great for do-it-yourselfers when buying an infrequently used specialty tool, setting up your at-home garage/shop, or replacing something. They have some incredible deals and when paired with their coupons that show up in various print sources, it's hard to resist. It's also fun to just poke around because you inevitably leave with something you didn't know you "needed"....like a giant Rambo knife that was only $8. :) Last, the service is great and workers are always surprisingly helpful and friendly. read more

I've been in this store three times, and it is always packed. The lines back up. I don't know if it's just that busy and popular, or they don't have enough tellers, but often I just don't want to wait in line if I'm looking for one or two items which is usually the case. I love the discount coupons you can find anywhere (usually car magazines, or in the mail) for 20-25% off plus there is a coupon for a freebie, like screwdrivers or other items. I'm so happy that I called and asked about a part, in great detail. To hear a voice on the other line that sounded high, half way assure me that they had it. When I asked the price they threw out a "ummmmm like 10$" great price quote bro! I then Drive across town to find oh look they don't have it at all, or anything even close. Awesome! It's not like I need that part today and wasted time I didn't have to spare. You would think that drug testing employees would be a thing, as would training them to look up parts and prices when advising customers of their current stock! I seriously think the Store on Ina is better with nicer more knowledgeable staff, and a slightly larger selection. I live down the street from this location and I will drive across town to go there. If you have never been to a Harbor Freight Store it's a must. Even if you have no interest in tools you must see it to believe. Besides the super coupons, senior discounts. Buy something and get other items for free. I couldn't even go through all the items they have. From Generators, to oil pumps, to tool benches, the paint sprayers, to dollies, to tarps, to greenhouses, to solar rope lights, to drills of all kinds and sizes. We went in and bought three items. One for changing lights bulbs that are high up, a super strong scissors for cutting very hard material, and a blanket for moving. Not moving but couldn't turn down anything that was for free. The place is mobbed and lots of help around. Isles and isles of goodies. These three items cost $2.14. On 9/6/19 I purchased (2) 60'' Hardwood Workbenches from the store on 22nd street in Tucson, Az. During the installation I discovered that two of the drawer handles were broken and one of the drawer bottom's had the felt lining torn. I tried calling the number on the installation manual for missing or replacement parts, but never reached a representative after 45 minutes of their pre-recorded messages. I called another number and reached a representative that told me to bring back the bench which I had to assemble and weighed over 100 lbs. After I discussed my situation she transferred me to customer service which, after waiting another 15 minutes they disconnected me. Just a word of praise for the go-to tool place if you don't want to spend a fortune at Lowe's or HD on a tool you might use only once or twice. Harbor Freight will keep you in cheap gloves, gardening tools, or even a good-sized assemble-it-yourself RV trailer. The smell of cheap plastic and rubber is almost overpowering, but where else can you get an electric fly swatter for $5 or perfectly decent lawn gnomes for pocket change? My husband is an architecture student and we are landlords (a crazy man's job) so we need lots of random tools and hard to find items. So we come to Harbor Freight and they ALWAYS deliver and are happy to give you a 20% coupon several times per year. We find tarps, clamps, power tools (yay!), even mini power tools that serve our purposes at very reasonable prices. The location is no frills, a little run down, but the knowledge the employees have to share makes it worth looking past. I make the drive to 22nd and Craycroft from the U of A area instead of visiting a big box store, especially when they are rare or hard to find items. There is always plenty of parking, but can get busy on the weekends and when there are sales, you can wait up to 15 minutes in line. So keep that in mind, plus you, kind of get lost in the aisles of fun stuff. So if you are in a rush it may or may not be the place depending on the day. read more

Always get good customer service. Yestday my fiance and I went in looking for a floor jack. The fine print was worded a little weird on the coupon. I grabed the the first person we saw, it so happed to be the store manager. We asked if we were able to use that coupon. It was not able to be used. He mentioned there should be another coupon in the ad specicly for the floor jack my fiance wanted. This made it affordable for us to get. Chinese made tools at cheap prices. Often not the best quality, but if you don't make your living with the tools, they are more than good enough for most jobs. I have purchased tools that are such poor quality that they didn't survive ONE USE! The management wasn't very interested in my comments. I consider myself a talented homeowner, not professional at anything, but i have wide range of knowledge regarding many types of tools that they stock. I would be careful about your choice of purchase-there are some decent quality items there mixed in with the trash. Have you ever wondered why they push their warranty on items worth ten bucks or more?? Must be where they make most of their money since most homeowners trash items rather than return them. read more
