While I was at 3689 E Broadway, Tucson AZ store I was racially profiled while attempting to checkout. The heavy set brown haired woman with glasses wouldn't allow me to use the self checkout on my own on July 17 2026 at 3:21pm. She singled me out when I reached the registers called me over grabs the scanner and begins taking my items to ring me up and watched over my shoulder as I paid. I was the only customer she did this to while I was in that area and she then follows me out the front of the store. It's a shame I have to be treated like that simply because of my skin color. On May 25,2026 I purchased a 5gal KUMQUAT TREE, $47.99. I got it home, prepared the soil and attempted to remove from it's 5gal container. The plant root was that of a one gallon plant or less plant with absolutely no true root ball, the soil was lose and went everywhere! This was clearly a one gallon plant put into a 5 gallon container!! Unsure this plant will survive with little to no root system.This is unacceptable- read more

The plant return policy keeps changing and varies from rep to rep. I no longer feel confident in my plant purchases at Home Depot after having been a loyal customer for years. I will be going elsewhere and encourage others to do the same. It is ridiculous that you now have to dig up the dead plants and bring them in, particularly when they look unidentifiable and like weeds after 2 weeks. The policy for store credit used to be up to a year on all plants. That is no longer true. It's 90 days with the dead plants for most plants. I can do better at nurseries. Better quality, better guarantees etc., I read that the policy varies by location. Somehow I suspected that. Very disappointed. read more

This nice man name Tim saw me looking around like a deer in headlights. Tim came up to be me and asked me if I needed help. Shout out to Tim with support from LeAnne at Home Depot by El Con. Yesterday, arrived to procure a Husky toolbox. Item comes in two boxes and as I suspected they were not stored in the same location. Tim confidently stated he had 3 in stock after viewing his mobile teleporting device, but at the first location we were unable to locate both items. During small talk, I indicated I had earned a free chick filet and Tim responded, grab a sandwich next door - and I will have the boxes ready in 15 minutes. Not much more to say, boxes were pulled down from the highest shelf and ready, Tim lifted to the cart while LeAnne expertly maneuvered the caution flags to keep patrons safe. The entire experience was efficient, professional, and positive. ROUND 2 I tired to give them one more chance. You would think after the Attorney General Sided with me they would pick up their customer services relations. So I ordered online pick up in store - which two days ago they had drive up stations, not anymore. I walked by a crazy lady worker and told her pickup. She said go in so I did, but put me in the wrong section realized her mistake then made me and another customers get behind 4 people that just walked up after I had been waiting 10min for a pickup- the she's calling customers names like smart asses and being rude and controlling, like how when someone gets any type of authority and goes insane over it. I finally get to the cashier at pickup and she lost my order.... Finds it finally, then tells me it's all there when it was missing items. She's like ma'am this is what the sheet says very combative And rude he names stated with an A like Ariel or something, young snot. I'm like your sheet is wrong and what I paid and what is here isn't correct. Then she digs deeper and the missing items were still being shipped to the store when I was notified my order was ready and I had it filtered to in stock only items before purchasing. She told me to call Home Depot to handle it, so I made her listen to my hold music for 30min. She was combative and rude and grabbed my phone which was on speaker to talk to Home Depot person- I'm standing there like wtf are you grabbing my phone for . Then they tell me to call tomorrow to get a refund. I'm like- No, you put it in notes to refund me it better show up in 7-10 days Just a shit show. I wasn't the only pissed customer and the manager was just as snotty to customers refusing to give Regional manager info to a customer who was upset too , so I didn't bother. I used the app for Home Depot, which was very useful in finding where they sell various drain cleaning products. I went directly to that area, and that was where I could find the product that I wanted, but didn't see it initially. Then, bending down, I could see they had the product that I wanted but it was on the floor and way back. A very nice employee named Shan, short, for Shannon, happened by right then, and was able to kneel down and reach the product for me. She was also helpful in comparing different drain cleaning products. I would highly recommend her and Home Depot at Elcon. read more

I bought new dishwasher from Home Depot which include delivery and installation. The dishwasher arrived on time but the delivery team from BARLOW's (The delivery and installation service that Home Depot uses) claimed that they couldn't install it. The delivery team told me that the water cut off valve to the dishwasher was defective. "Do you want us to take it back?", they asked. I told them I didn't want it back, I wanted it installed. "We can't do that, there is a bad valve - we can't turn the handle on this old valve. So we can't turn off the water under the counter." In response, I told them that I would turn off the city water for the entire house, and I walked outside and turned off the water line. With no water in the plumbing lines, I asked them to install the dishwasher. "We still can't do it, you need SOMEONE to put in a new valve." I told them to take out my old dishwasher and leave. I sad that I happily would call a plumber rather than tip them to do the job I had already paid for at HD . They took out the old dishwasher and left me with the new one sitting in my kitchen. After the delivery team left, I climbed under the sink and tried to move the handle of the water shut off valve. Miraculously, the 'broken valve' opened and closed! To test it, I turned on the city water to my house and the old valve did not leak. I realized that I had been scammed. Later that day, I paid a plumber to install the Home Depot dishwasher. It was an easy quick job. The plumber didn't have to change the valve; it worked just fine. The lesson to HD customers - don't let the delivery companies that HD uses try to take advantage of you! read more

Customer service wise, they are horrible. You will never get help from anyone. They walk around and pretend like you don't exist. Most of the time, they have to ask another Home Depot worker where to find things. To save myself the headache, I always use the app to make sure the item I want is in stock and I always find out which Aisle and Bay it is located at. The greeter will stare you down and not say "Hello", like wtf is their job? Pre-COVID I had issues finding things in stock, now they are using the virus as an excuse to keep even less things in stock. It's a shame there aren't any other Home Depot's closer because I dread going to this one. read more

How do you rate a store so vast, with so many possibilities? No two people can have the same experience here. I come here for my paint/mural projects. I like the tiny paint samples you can get for exterior or interior. I like the vast choices of brands, bases, finishes and colors to choose from. It's honestly overwhelming at times. I like the multitude of paint supplies from brushes to drop clothes to tapes. If you're lost it's easy enough to find someone to help. I've never experienced poor customer service. Employees are willing to help you if you ask. For all my other hardware store needs I go to Ace because it's quicker to get in and out. Price does not seem to be a noticeable different between the two places. I cannot speak for the rest of the store but for paint and all the supplies that come with it, Home Depot is great. read more

One day they'll be an organized line, a week later you'll get screamed at for not knowing there are five. it's you job to know who is first in these lines too, because they randomly feed all the register. I have had nothing but problems with the flooring department and my flooring project. The orders the wrong material then I had to rerun it. They ordered a new color which now I have to pick up they aren't delivering it. They didn't order the landing as well as the stairs. Every time I talk to the manager he doesn't care, sorry's only take you so far. No communication when I am told we'll call you with the details tomorrow I get a call two weeks later and then they random install dates. They use Western States Flooring for install they don't show up and then when they show up around 11am and think they're going to fit a 3 day install into 1.5 days. Mario the manager does not care his schedulers bumped me a day because I couldn't start my install a day early. They also have not fixed the issues from the first install last June. I've had nothing but probably wasted two days of PTO and when I say who is compensating me for my last work days and future work days? All the hassle I've gone through. read more

***DO NOT BUY YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE HERE**** We purchased a Christmas tree for $100. When we got it home we realized the tree was completely dead and it had been spray painted and placed back on the floor to be sold. When we called the store manager he refused to give us his name, and told us in order for anything to be done we had to bring the tree back to the store and was extremely rude and had no sympathy for the situation. We live 40 minutes from town and now have to drive the tree back not only wasting our gas, but our time. I love this location of Home Depot. They always have what I'm looking for and the staff is always friendly and willing to help. I give it a one star reduction due to it not having the most gardening supplies and the paint staff gave me very poor advice for painting over a dining set. They suggested I use a product called the gripper. It really didn't work and things peeled after a week. read more

AVOID! I purchased an auto tire compressor, and when I got it home I found that the 12v plug was broken -- and someone had even written their name on the side of the compressor in permanent ink! Obviously, I returned it. But then when I opened another on the shelf, I found that it was properly packaged inside, unlike the one I bought, and it also included components that mine didn't have. Evidently, someone used this enough to lose some components, lose the packaging, personalize it, and then break it, and somehow someone at El Con Home Depot simply put it back on the shelf for sale as new. That is pretty poor. So I asked to speak to the manager, and the clerk at customer service agreed and picked up the phone. But then she stopped and asked why I wanted to speak to the manager, and when I explained, she said that the manager wasn't there. I was furious, and I left. The clerk laughed. They sell junk. If you buy the junk they sell, you will have to take your time to deal with it, because they couldn't be bothered to take their time. The young people running customer service do not care. And the manager isn't there. I live right around the corner from this store and have shopped there for years. Over a stupid $35 compressor, El Con Home Depot lost my business forever. read more

Last time I was in The Home Depot at El Con Mall in Tucson, few people were wearing masks. When I called then, the manager was a complete jerk. When I called back this week to see if things had improved, the manager said that I needed to call the corporate office, and then she hung up. Such great citizens. Upon getting locked out of our house after a 3 mile run, my girlfriend and I knew that our landlord had a key on file at our local Home Depot. We swiftly ran over to Home Depot 20 minutes before closing time. After several technical difficulties while setting up the KeyHero app, the staff (Lauryn, Anna, and Robert) at the key making department were extremely patient and helpful getting through this stressful night. After finally getting the keys printed, Josh in customer service, was extremely generous in letting us take the keys for free because we had locked our wallets in the house.
